Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of Field Experience Practice (PPL) undertaken by students of the Qur'anic Studies and Tafsir Program at School of Quran as a form of community engagement in education. The activity aims to strengthen students' pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies through direct involvement in tahfiz-based Qur'anic learning. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach through classroom observation, active participation, and documentation during the PPL period. The findings show that PPL provided students with practical experience in lesson planning, classroom management, Qur'an memorization assistance, moral development, and constructive interaction with teachers and learners. The program also helped integrate academic learning with Qur'anic values, especially discipline, patience, responsibility, and exemplary conduct. In conclusion, PPL at School of Quran contributes positively to preparing competent and ethical Qur'anic educators while supporting the improvement of Qur'anic education in the community.

Abstract

Kajian living Qur’an memandang Al-Qur’an tidak hanya sebagai teks normatif, tetapi sebagai nilai yang hidup dalam praktik sosial umat Islam. Dalam masyarakat urban yang ditandai oleh kompleksitas sosial, dibutuhkan bentuk pembinaan keagamaan yang kontekstual dan berkelanjutan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan praktik living Qur’an melalui pendampingan pembelajaran tahfidz di Rumah Tahfidz Nurniatul Qur’an sebagai upaya penguatan ekspresi keberagamaan masyarakat urban. Pengabdian dilaksanakan melalui pendampingan setoran hafalan, pembinaan tahsin, pembiasaan adab penghafal Al-Qur’an, serta penguatan keterlibatan keluarga dalam pembelajaran. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui observasi partisipatif, pendampingan pembelajaran, komunikasi edukatif dengan pengelola dan orang tua, serta dokumentasi kegiatan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa praktik tahfidz tidak hanya meningkatkan kualitas hafalan santri, tetapi juga memperkuat internalisasi nilai-nilai Qur’ani, pembentukan karakter religius, serta penguatan solidaritas sosial komunitas.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of integrating information technology and contextual learning to enhance Arabic language skills among children aged 6–12 at Rumah Tahfidz Al-Barokah, Palembang. The research addresses the challenges of conventional Arabic language teaching methods that often fail to engage young learners in non-formal Islamic educational settings. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with triangulation of sources and methods, data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving eight students over two months. The study utilized pretest-posttest instruments to measure linguistic competence improvements. Results indicate a significant improvement in speaking skills (muhadatsah), with average scores increasing from 60 to 78, reading skills (qira'ah) from 65 to 80, and daily vocabulary mastery from 55 to 74. The implementation of five integrated programs—environment-based educational media, a reading corner, a waste management board, digital literacy training, and an Islamic children's festival—successfully boosted students' motivation, active participation, and linguistic competence. These findings confirm that combining digital media with contextual approaches creates a holistic learning ecosystem that addresses cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains simultaneously. This model is recommended as a sustainable and replicable strategy for digital-era Arabic language education in similar non-formal Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of educational quality and the role of the Education Office of Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau, in improving the quality of education through the perspective of Ki Hajar Dewantara’s educational thought. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving officials of the Education Office, school principals, and teachers. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the transformation of education in Kuantan Singingi Regency has shown significant progress in terms of educational policy, teacher competency improvement, digitalization of learning, and the enhancement of educational facilities and infrastructure. However, the transformation remains predominantly oriented toward administrative and formalistic aspects, such as academic achievement, graduation rates, and educational bureaucratic targets. The implementation of character education is also still symbolic and has not been fully integrated into the educational culture. In addition, disparities in educational quality between urban and rural areas persist due to limitations in facilities, technological access, and educational resources. From the perspective of Ki Hajar Dewantara, these conditions indicate that education has not been fully directed as a process of humanizing human beings. This study emphasizes that the transformation of educational quality requires a more humanistic, contextual, and culturally grounded paradigm shift. Therefore, the Education Office of Kuantan Singingi Regency needs to integrate the values of exemplary leadership, freedom in learning, empowerment, and character building into educational policies in order to produce students who are not only academically excellent, but also creative, independent, morally grounded, and socially aware.

Abstract

Mental health is an important part of community welfare, but data related to the mental health conditions of village communities is still limited. This study aims to describe the mental health condition of the people of Waq Toweren Village based on the results of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) screening in adolescents and the Self Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ) in adults through the Village Voice of the Village Program. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with respondents of 17 adolescents and 17 adults, respectively. Data was collected through SDQ and SRQ questionnaires, then analyzed using descriptive statistics to see the distribution and tendencies of respondents' answers. The results of the study showed that adolescents experienced psychosocial difficulties at a mild to moderate level with the strength of social behavior that was still quite good. Meanwhile, the adult community has an average SRQ score of 5.6 which is close to the threshold of mental emotional disorders. This study provides basic data as an initial mapping of the mental health conditions of village communities and can be used as a reference in planning community-based mental health assistance programs.

Abstract

Jatibaru merupakan desa wisata pertanian dengan potensi signifikan sebagai pusat pengembangan ekonomi lokal melalui sektor Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM). Namun, kendala utama yang dihadapi adalah kualitas dan kapasitas Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) lokal yang kurang memadai, khususnya dalam hal keterampilan teknis, manajemen bisnis, pemasaran, dan pemahaman peluang pasar. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan strategi pemberdayaan SDM lokal sebagai landasan keberhasilan pengembangan UMKM di desa wisata pertanian. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat meliputi survei lapangan, penyuluhan, pelatihan terarah, pendampingan berkelanjutan, dan evaluasi berkala, dengan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan semua lapisan masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberdayaan SDM melalui peningkatan kompetensi, penguatan kelembagaan, dan pengembangan budaya kewirausahaan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan UMKM dalam mengelola bisnis, memanfaatkan teknologi, dan menjangkau pasar yang lebih luas. Strategi ini juga memperkuat keterkaitan terintegrasi antara sektor pertanian, pariwisata, dan ekonomi lokal. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemberdayaan SDM bukan hanya sebagai langkah pendukung tetapi merupakan faktor kunci dalam menentukan keberlanjutan dan daya saing UMKM di desa wisata pertanian.

Abstract

The paucity of knowledge regarding academic citations in the digital era of 5.0, which has undergone a comprehensive digital transformation across all domains, including the domain of academic writing, has not been adequately addressed by the knowledge of literary studies at the University of Mataram. Consequently, the process of producing academic papers in the context of citations still relies on conventional methods. This has resulted in a significant number of errors in the writing process. In light of these issues, a PKM was organised to provide training in the use of Zotero, a tool designed to facilitate the process of referencing in academic writing. The process is comprised of several stages. Firstly, planning is undertaken, which includes the following: initial observation, interviews, a pre-test, and creation of a module. Secondly, the implementation stage is initiated, which includes the delivery of materials, the posing of questions, and practical exercises. These practical exercises include the installation of Zotero, downloading articles, and inserting articles into Zotero. Finally, the process is concluded with a review. The results of the study, as measured by the Zotero software, demonstrate a significant increase in the post-test results. In general, 25 out of 30 participants (83.3%) successfully utilised Zotero. However, the remaining five participants (16.7%) were unable to complete the full installation and practical processes due to insufficient processing power.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ ability in managing references and academic citations through training on Mendeley at STIQ Kepulauan Riau. The method employed a community service based training approach using a descriptive quantitative design combined with qualitative analysis. The program was conducted through preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages, involving students as participants. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test assessments as well as observations of participants’ technical skills in using the application. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ competencies, with the average score increasing from 55.0 in the pre-test to 87.5 in the post-test. The N-Gain value of 0.72 falls into the high category, indicating that the training was effective in enhancing reference management and academic citation skills. The greatest improvement was observed in technical skills, while conceptual understanding of citation showed moderate improvement. These findings suggest that technology-based training effectively improves the quality of students’ academic writing, particularly in citation consistency and bibliography structure.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance students’ understanding of the importance of moral education in addressing the challenges of the digital era and the growing influence of hedonistic culture among adolescents. The background of this activity is rooted in the increasingly complex moral issues faced by the younger generation due to rapid advancements in information technology and social media, which significantly affect their mindset and behavior. Therefore, revitalizing moral education is essential to instill Islamic values in students’ daily lives. The implementation method consisted of several stages, including preparation and coordination with the school, an opening session with Quran recitation, material presentation by a resource person, and discussion and evaluation sessions. The activity was conducted at SMA IT Darul Ilmi with students as the primary participants. The results indicated that students showed strong enthusiasm and active participation throughout the program. Through interactive sessions, students developed a better understanding of maintaining moral conduct, using digital technology wisely, and filtering negative cultural influences. This activity is expected to contribute positively to strengthening moral education and fostering students’ character based on Islamic values.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology has increased social media use among adolescents, creating various challenges related to online safety, privacy, and exposure to inappropriate content. This community service activity aimed to enhance students’ understanding of social media age-restriction policies and strengthen their awareness of child protection in digital environments. The program was conducted at MAN 4 South Jakarta through legal counseling and digital literacy education using lectures, audiovisual presentations, interactive discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. The activity focused on introducing the provisions of the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Digital Number 9 of 2026 concerning child protection in digital spaces, as well as the risks associated with irresponsible social media use. The results indicate that students demonstrated improved knowledge regarding age limitations for social media access, digital rights and responsibilities, privacy protection, and the potential impacts of cyberbullying and misinformation. Active participation during discussions also reflected growing awareness of the importance of responsible digital behavior. The program contributed to strengthening legal awareness and digital literacy among students, supporting broader efforts to create a safer and more child-friendly digital environment.
