Abstract

Bullying in the orphanage environment is often considered a joke or a disciplinary tradition; this is due to the ignorance of the law (ignorantia juris) by foster children. Acts of bullying have been strictly prohibited in Article 76C of Law Number 35 of 2014. This community service aims to increase legal awareness from an early age regarding the prevention of bullying and its legal impact on children in the Noordeen Foundation Orphanage in Central Aceh. The implementation method is carried out through a participatory educational approach that includes interactive lectures on the Child Protection Law and the Child Criminal Justice System Law, educational video screenings, questions and answers, and the Declaration of Bullying-Free Homes. The measurement of the effectiveness of activities was analyzed using legal awareness theory and social control theory through pre-test and post-test instruments. The results of the service showed a very significant spike in cognitive understanding of foster children, from 35% at the pre-test to 88% at the post-test. This success indicates an awareness from the phase of legal awareness to a substantive law understanding. In addition, the joint declaration strengthens the internal social control bond of the orphanage to reduce seniority in the dormitory. This service concluded that positive legal debriefing for administrators is able to create an orphanage ecosystem that is legally responsive, independent, and child-friendly in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to strengthen Islamic financial literacy among youth members of the Karang Taruna organization in Prasung Village, Sidoarjo Regency, through Islamic financial literacy education. This program was motivated by the limited level of Islamic financial literacy among Karang Taruna youth, which is considered an important factor in enhancing economic independence. The study employed a descriptive-participatory approach through Participatory Action Research (PAR), as it actively involves Karang Taruna members in identifying problems, formulating solutions, and evaluating program activities. Through the PAR approach, participants were not merely the objects of the program but also acted as active subjects directly involved in strengthening Islamic financial literacy and fostering economic self-reliance. The results indicate that the program was effective in improving the Islamic financial literacy capacity of Karang Taruna youth while simultaneously encouraging the development of economic independence among young people in Prasung Village. Furthermore, the program contributed to increasing youth motivation to achieve economic self-reliance through productive activities and more prudent financial management. Therefore, strengthening Islamic financial literacy can serve as an effective community empowerment strategy to support inclusive, productive, and sustainable rural economic development.

Abstract

This activity aims to increase the added value of fishery products through training in making shredded catfish for the people of Cibadung Village, Gunung Sindur District, Bogor Regency. The problems identified are the lack of optimal utilization of catfish cultivation products and the lack of innovation in processed products with high economic value. The method of activity includes observation of local potential, socialization, the practice of making shredded catfish, to community work titles. The production process is carried out through the stages of boiling, refining, mixing spices, and frying to produce dry, savory, and long-lasting shredded meat. The results of the activity showed that the "Abon Ye" product received a positive response from the community, with the satisfaction level of participants reaching 100% in terms of usefulness, taste, and business potential. This product has been proven to be able to increase people's skills, creativity, and entrepreneurial awareness in managing local resources. Thus, this program contributes to the economic empowerment of the community as well as a real implementation of student leadership values in a social and educational context.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to strengthen business ethics and market justice among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) actors in Kademangan District, Probolinggo City, based on the thought of Al-Syaibani and Yahya bin Umar. This study employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. Participants consisted of 40 MSME actors selected by purposive sampling. The results showed that before the program, the average understanding of business ethics was 2.74 (Poor category), whereas after the training intervention it increased significantly to 4.21 (Very Good category), with an improvement percentage of 53.6%. In the aspect of market justice, the mean score rose from 2.61 to 4.18 (increase of 60.2%). These findings indicate that integration of Al-Syaibani's work ethics thinking and Yahya bin Umar's market supervision principles in community service activities is highly effective in improving the awareness and practice of business ethics and market justice among MSME actors. The program contributes to strengthening Islamic economic values at the grassroots level and can serve as a replicable model for similar community engagement programs

Abstract

This community service project aims to enhance students’ literacy and creativity through the implementation of the “Expression Wall” at SDN Pamulang Tengah, South Tangerang. The project was designed to provide a space where students can express their ideas, artistic works, and reflections freely, thus fostering an engaging learning environment. The method used was participatory action with four stages: preparation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. During the implementation phase, students and teachers participated in socialization and hands-on activities to introduce and utilize the Expression Wall. The results show that the Expression Wall effectively increased students’ interest in reading, writing, and creative expression. Students became more active in producing and appreciating creative works displayed on the wall, while teachers acted as facilitators to support literacy-based learning. The monitoring phase confirmed a growing sense of collaboration, independence, and responsibility among students. Overall, the project successfully promoted a culture of literacy and creativity, proving that a simple yet innovative medium can significantly improve students’ engagement and school atmosphere.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the creative skills and environmental awareness of the children of the Central Karang Orphanage through training in ecoprint techniques using natural materials. The implementation method uses the 5-D BAGJA approach based on Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) which includes the stages of Define, Dream, Design, Deliver, and Destiny. The training was carried out with participatory methods in the form of socialization, demonstrations, and direct practice of making ecoprints on tote bag fabric. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the concept of ecoprint and the importance of using natural materials. Most children are able to produce one to two leaf-patterned works with good aesthetic quality and show high enthusiasm. This activity also fosters awareness of environmental conservation and the potential of the creative economy based on environmentally friendly products. This training has proven to be effective in integrating aspects of art, education, and community empowerment in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This community service article describes a Qur'anic reading mentoring program for adult learners at Majelis Ta'lim Ahludz Dzikri Sidoarjo. The program was designed to respond to adults' difficulties in recognizing hijaiyah letters, connecting Arabic sounds with Indonesian explanations, and applying basic tajwid rules during recitation. The mentoring used concept maps and Indonesian vocabulary as learning aids so that participants could visualize the relationship among letters, vowels, articulation points, short-long sounds, and selected tajwid concepts. The program employed Participatory Action Research through planning, action, observation, reflection, and follow-up cycles. Thirty adult participants joined the mentoring once a week every Sunday from 10.00 to 11.30 WIB. Data were collected through initial reading diagnosis, observation notes, weekly practice records, oral reading assessment, and reflective dialogue with participants. The results indicate that concept maps helped participants organize Qur'anic reading materials into simpler and more memorable structures, while Indonesian vocabulary reduced anxiety and supported adult learners who had limited Arabic background. Participants became more confident in distinguishing similar letters, reading connected syllables, recognizing basic signs of vowels and sukun, and applying simple tajwid rules in short surahs. The main obstacles were limited practice time at home, different starting abilities, and hesitation among older participants. The mentoring shows that adult Qur'anic literacy can be strengthened through participatory, visual, and contextual learning strategies that respect learners' experiences and learning pace.

Abstract

As women in the modern era are stakeholders of development, therefore the implementation of development must emphasize the importance of women's empowerment efforts. This article discusses a community service activity conducted to raise the awareness of adolescent girls in Legundi Village, Bantaran Sub-district, Probolinggo Regency, about the importance of education and their role in society. Through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the activity involved team preparation, observation, research and evaluation to measure the success of the activity. The evaluation results showed an increase in adolescent girls' enthusiasm for learning and understanding of the importance of education. The bibliography includes references on Islamic education, community development and character education.

Abstract

Jatibaru merupakan desa wisata pertanian dengan potensi signifikan sebagai pusat pengembangan ekonomi lokal melalui sektor Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM). Namun, kendala utama yang dihadapi adalah kualitas dan kapasitas Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) lokal yang kurang memadai, khususnya dalam hal keterampilan teknis, manajemen bisnis, pemasaran, dan pemahaman peluang pasar. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan strategi pemberdayaan SDM lokal sebagai landasan keberhasilan pengembangan UMKM di desa wisata pertanian. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat meliputi survei lapangan, penyuluhan, pelatihan terarah, pendampingan berkelanjutan, dan evaluasi berkala, dengan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan semua lapisan masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberdayaan SDM melalui peningkatan kompetensi, penguatan kelembagaan, dan pengembangan budaya kewirausahaan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan UMKM dalam mengelola bisnis, memanfaatkan teknologi, dan menjangkau pasar yang lebih luas. Strategi ini juga memperkuat keterkaitan terintegrasi antara sektor pertanian, pariwisata, dan ekonomi lokal. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemberdayaan SDM bukan hanya sebagai langkah pendukung tetapi merupakan faktor kunci dalam menentukan keberlanjutan dan daya saing UMKM di desa wisata pertanian.

Abstract

This community service article explains an educational and participatory mentoring program for Dhuha prayer learning at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Ngawi. The program responded to the partner school need for worship learning that does not stop at routine practice, but also develops conceptual understanding, guided performance, reflective awareness, and sustainable habituation. The mentoring used socialization, material delivery, interactive discussion, guided practice, observation, and participant reflection. The program focused on the meaning, legal basis, time, number of rakaat, procedure, manners, and educational value of Dhuha prayer. The results show that the program strengthened student understanding, improved practice accuracy, and encouraged religious discipline within the school and boarding environment. The activity also produced a practical guide that teachers and students can use for follow-up religious mentoring. The article argues that Dhuha prayer mentoring becomes more effective when schools combine religious culture, teacher assistance, reflective dialogue, and simple evaluation instruments. This community service model can support Islamic education programs that aim to transform routine worship into meaningful character education.
