Abstract

The shift toward a multipolar global order has encouraged Indonesia to join BRICS as a full member to strengthen its strategic position and expand international economic cooperation. This study examines the strategic considerations behind Indonesia’s BRICS membership, its implications for national economic development, and its assessment from the perspective of siyāsah māliyah. This study contributes to the literature by analyzing Indonesia’s BRICS membership through the framework of siyāsah māliyah, which remains rarely discussed in previous studies. This study employs a normative legal research method with a descriptive-analytical approach based on library research. The findings indicate that Indonesia’s membership in BRICS is driven by the need to diversify economic partners, strengthen economic resilience, and expand access to development financing through the New Development Bank (NDB). BRICS membership potentially provides opportunities for financing strategic sectors such as infrastructure and renewable energy. However, the study also identifies risks, including economic dependence and geopolitical tensions. From the perspective of siyāsah māliyah, Indonesia’s cooperation with BRICS may be justified as long as it is directed toward al-maṣlaḥah al-‘āmmah, distributive justice, and economic welfare. Nevertheless, the benefits of such cooperation remain largely prospective, as no NDB-funded projects have yet been implemented in Indonesia.

Abstract

National identity is a fundamental pillar that needs to be instilled in the younger generation from an early age. This study aimed to describe efforts to strengthen national identity through Civics Education (PKn) for fifth-grade elementary school students. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research involved 2 PKn teachers and 30 Grade V students at one elementary school in Pekanbaru, Riau, selected through purposive sampling based on criteria including active involvement in PKn learning and willingness to participate in the study. Data were collected through classroom observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with source and method triangulation to ensure validity. The findings reveal three key strategies for strengthening national identity: (1) integration of national values (Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, and NKRI) into PKn learning content through interactive discussions, storytelling, and contextual case studies; (2) nationally-oriented school habituation through flag ceremonies, national anthem singing, and national literacy programs; and (3) student activity-based projects such as patriotic posters, hero narratives, and deliberation simulations. These strategies work synergistically to internalize national values across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. In conclusion, PKn is effective as a vehicle for building national character in elementary school students, equipping them with the values and civic awareness needed to become responsible, patriotic, and globally competent citizens.

Abstract

The crisis of educational dualism based on the distinction of religious and secular sciences is one of the most urgent problems in the context of modern Islamic education. This problem leads to the epistemological division in Muslim communities and contributes to poor integration of ethical, religious, and scientific components in the process of educating students. This paper seeks to explore the ideas of Ismail Raji al-Faruqi on Islamization and integration of knowledge with the purpose of solving the problem of educational dualism. To conduct this study, the authors used a qualitative research design with the application of descriptive and contextual approaches. The data was gathered by means of documentation, including major works of al-Faruqi and related to Islamic educational reforms. The results demonstrate that educational dualism emerges as a result of colonial and secular educational traditions in separating religion and science. As a solution to the problem of educational dualism, al-Faruqi offers tawḥīd as a basis of knowledge that brings together all spheres, including religion, science, ethics, and others.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of KH. Hasyim Asy’ari’s pedagogical model and its implications for Arabic language learning in madrasah diniyah through a systematic literature review (SLR) approach and bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer. Islamic education, which is rooted in the pesantren tradition, places character formation at the core of the learning process, as formulated in the book Adabut Ta’lim wal Muta’allim. This study applies the PRISMA protocol with a publication range of 2021–2026 and identifies 20 articles that meet the inclusion criteria. The results show that KH. Hasyim Asy’ari’s pedagogical model is characterized by an emphasis on educator ethics, teacher–student relationships grounded in adab, and the integration of knowledge mastery with personality formation. VOSviewer visualization identifies five main clusters: pesantren and kitab kuning as the pedagogical basis, Islamic education reform, the conceptual dimension of educational thought, the national context, and Arabic language learning. The findings indicate a shift from philosophical studies toward practical implementation and methodological innovation, particularly in increasingly adaptive Arabic language learning. The implications of this study show that traditional methods such as sorogan and bandongan remain relevant, but need to be integrated with communicative approaches, learning technology, and contextual strategies to improve Arabic language competence. This study affirms that KH. Hasyim Asy’ari’s pedagogical model remains an important foundation for developing Arabic language learning rooted in ethical values while remaining open to modern educational innovation.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the strategies for utilizing social capital employed by the "Sapta Darma" Belief Community in maintaining its existence amidst the negative stigma that still persists in society. The legality received in the form of the Constitutional Court's decision No. 97/PUU-XIV/2016 regarding the inclusion of belief adherents in the religion column on ID cards has not fully changed public perception regarding their existence. This research is a qualitative study with data collection methods including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The selection of informants was conducted purposively, specifically targeting the leader and members of the community of practitioners. The number of informants is four, consisting of one man and three women. They are in the age range of 20-70 years. The collected data were analyzed using interactive analysis techniques, which consist of data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion verification. The research results show that the strategy of utilizing social capital by the followers of the "Sapta Darma" belief is carried out in three ways: first, the practice of "Sapta Darma" teachings as a form of bonding capital that functions to strengthen identity and reinforce internal community relationships. Second, involvement in community activities as a form of bridging capital that opens up spaces for information exchange and embodies the practice of noble teachings in social relations. Third, cooperation with government agencies as a form of linking capital that provides broader access to the public sector and supports the sustainability of the community's existence.

Abstract

Islamic education aims not only to transmit knowledge but also to develop faith and moral character among students. In this context, aqidah plays a fundamental role as a foundation that shapes perspectives on knowledge and the educational process. This study aims to analyze the concept of aqidah in the perspective of Islamic education, explain its role as an epistemological foundation in acquiring knowledge, and examine its implications for students’ ways of thinking in the learning process at madrasahs. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research. Data were collected from books and scholarly articles related to aqidah, Islamic epistemology, and Islamic education. The data were analyzed using content analysis to identify key concepts and thematic relationships systematically. The results indicate that aqidah functions not only as a theological belief but also as an epistemological foundation that determines the sources, methods, and objectives of knowledge in Islamic education. Islamic epistemology integrates revelation, reason, and empirical experience within the framework of tauhid. This approach contributes to the formation of a tawhidic mindset among students, enabling them to think critically, evaluate information selectively, and develop moral and spiritual awareness in the use of knowledge.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Waste Bank Program in instilling Islamic ecotheology values at MAN 2 Deli Serdang using a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model and tested for validity through source and technique triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the Waste Bank Program not only functions as an environmental management activity but also as a medium for internalizing Islamic ecotheology values, such as cleanliness as part of faith, trustworthiness, mīzān (balance), and the prohibition of fasād (destruction). The internalization of values occurs gradually through habituation, teacher role modeling, and integration into madrasah activities and culture.  In addition, changes in student behavior were found in maintaining cleanliness and reducing the use of single-use plastics, although they are still situational and dependent on supervision. This program is supported by the commitment of the madrasah, the role of teachers, adequate facilities, as well as student participation, but there are still obstacles in the form of inconsistent behavior and the suboptimal internalization of values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Semester Credit System (SKS) management in accelerating learning at MAN 2 Model Medan. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects include the principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, teachers, and students selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, with triangulation to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that the implementation of SKS has been carried out effectively and systematically through well-structured planning, flexible execution, and continuous evaluation. The acceleration of learning is supported by an adaptive curriculum, innovative teaching strategies, academic guidance services, as well as adequate facilities and infrastructure. Furthermore, the success of SKS implementation is influenced by managerial collaboration, teacher readiness, and students’ independence in managing their learning load. Therefore, the SKS can serve as an effective strategy to optimize students’ potential without compromising the quality of learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of fatherlessness on the self-concept of girls in families. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method. The research informants consisted of one girl as the primary subject and the mother as a supporting informant. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews and documentation to obtain a comprehensive picture of the subjects' experiences and the dynamics of family relationships. The results show that fatherlessness has a significant impact on the formation of girls' self-concept. In terms of self-confidence, children tend to feel doubtful and less confident in their abilities. In terms of self-esteem, children feel less cared for and tend to be withdrawn. In terms of emotional management, children are not yet able to manage their emotions optimally and often suppress their feelings. In terms of motivation and self-development, children show low internal drive and a lack of confidence in their potential. Meanwhile, in terms of social relations, children tend to be cautious, selective, and have difficulty trusting others. Thus, the absence of a father's role influences the formation of girls' self-concept comprehensively, both psychologically and socially.

Abstract

This study examines the time management of students in achieving their Quran memorization targets at the Ar-Rohmah Islamic Boarding School, Tahfidz Unit, Ngawi. Tahfidz students face dual challenges: the obligation to memorize new verses (ziyadah), review previously memorized verses (muroja’ah), participate in formal classroom instruction, and adhere to the boarding school’s daily routine. This study aims to explain the boarding school’s strategies in helping students manage their time and to analyze the impact of these strategies on the achievement of memorization targets. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed, involving female students actively enrolled in the tahfidz program (intermediate and advanced levels) as the primary subjects. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using the Miles & Huberman interactive model. The research findings indicate that Ar Rohmah Islamic Boarding School implements a structured time management system with three daily recitation sessions: review of previously memorized verses after dawn prayer (minimum 5 pages), review of new verses from 7:00–8:00 AM, and ziyadah (new memorization) after afternoon prayer. This strategy is supported by the use of Arabic as the daily language, guidance from halaqah supervisors, as well as weekly and monthly recitation sessions. The resulting impacts include the achievement of the memorization target of 5 juz per year, measurable fluency in recitation, and improvements in the quality of tajwid and fashah. This study contributes to the development of a schedule-routine model for time management in Al-Qur’an memorization institutions.
