Abstract

Strengthening the quality of learning at the elementary school level requires adaptive and innovative strategies, especially in the digital era, which demands a more engaging and participatory learning process. This community service activity was carried out at SDN 2 Ngindeng in response to the need to increase teacher capacity in designing and using interactive learning media appropriate to the local context. The main objectives of this activity were: (1) to improve teachers' skills in using interactive media, (2) to increase active student engagement in the learning process, and (3) to foster a culture of simple technology-based learning. The community service methods used included teacher training, mentoring in the implementation of interactive media in the classroom, as well as pre- and post-test-based evaluations of teachers and observations of student engagement. The community service results showed a significant improvement in teacher skills, with an average post-test score of 26 points. Furthermore, student engagement increased from 55% to 82% after the program was implemented. These findings demonstrate that interactive media-based learning innovations can be a strategic solution for improving the quality of elementary education, particularly in areas with limited resources.

Abstract

Reading and arithmetic skills are very much needed by the next generation. However, the importance of numeracy literacy to be implemented in schools has not been optimized by several schools. One of them is SD UPT SP 4 Loliaro, South Morotai District. There are not many activities that can be done to improve numeracy literacy in the school. In this service, several activities will be carried out at the school, namely to strengthen Numeracy Literacy and also activities that can optimize Numeracy Literacy at SD UPT SP 4 Loliaro, South Morotai District. Numeracy Literacy strengthening activities are focused on class 2. From the literacy activities that have been carried out, the Numeracy Literacy skills of students at SD UPT SP 4 Loliaro, South Morotai District have increased. In addition, students are interested and happy with the activities that have been carried out.

Abstract

This community service research aims to enhance the awareness, knowledge, and skills of residents in Margorejo Urban Village in independently managing household organic waste by utilizing simple technology in the form of a waste shredder. The main issue addressed is the low level of waste sorting and organic waste management practices at the household level, which contributes to high waste volume and suboptimal utilization of organic waste. The activities were carried out using a participatory approach, through direct observation and semi-structured interviews. The stages included community outreach, technical training on the use of the organic waste shredder, and assistance in composting practices involving the local waste bank as a partner. This collaborative approach enabled direct knowledge transfer and fostered a sense of ownership in environmental management. The results show that the use of the waste shredder accelerated the composting process, significantly reduced waste volume, and increased community participation in sustainable waste management efforts. Furthermore, the involvement of the waste bank strengthened local networks in integrated waste management and supported the implementation of circular economy principles in urban communities. In conclusion, the integration of a waste shredder and collaboration with a waste bank has proven effective in encouraging behavioral changes towards independent and sustainable waste management. This model can be replicated in other areas with similar conditions as a practical and applicable solution to address organic waste issues.

Abstract

The limited access to formal education experienced by Indonesian migrant children in Malaysia has had a serious impact on their cognitive and spiritual development. These children often lack basic skills such as reading, writing, and arithmetic (Calistung), and receive minimal religious guidance due to their parents' busy work schedules. This study aims to enhance Calistung skills and cultivate the habit of performing Duha prayer through a service-learning approach conducted collaboratively with the Community Learning Center (PKBM) of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. The subjects consisted of ten first-grade students enrolled in non-formal education. The methods employed included participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, pre-tests and post-tests, and visual documentation. The results showed improvements in the ability to recognize letters, copy names, and perform basic arithmetic operations. The children also began to understand and regularly perform Duha prayer without coercion. This activity demonstrates that service learning can be an effective approach to bridging theory and practice in the field, while also strengthening community engagement in alternative education programs. The main contribution of this initiative lies in the integration of basic literacy development and spiritual character formation as a solution to the educational gap faced by Indonesian migrant children abroad.

Abstract

Peningkatan branding produk merupakan salah satu tantangan terbesar bagi Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) untuk bersaing di era digital. UMKM Assafirs Strudel Ubi Madu, yang memproduksi oleh-oleh khas Pasrujambe-Lumajang, menghadapi kendala dalam hal branding dan pemasaran digital akibat keterbatasan pengetahuan dan sumber daya. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas pelaku UMKM melalui pelatihan penggunaan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (AI) generatif, yaitu Google Gemini dan Veo 3. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi, sosialisasi, pelatihan intensif, serta pendampingan dan evaluasi. Pelatihan difokuskan pada penggunaan Gemini untuk membuat konten teks yang menarik dan Veo 3 untuk memproduksi video promosi produk yang profesional. Hasil dari program ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan pelaku UMKM dalam membuat konten branding secara mandiri. UMKM mampu menghasilkan deskripsi produk, slogan, dan video promosi berkualitas tinggi dengan lebih efisien. Keterampilan ini tidak hanya memperkuat citra merek produk mereka, tetapi juga memperluas jangkauan pasar dan berpotensi meningkatkan penjualan. Pemanfaatan AI generatif terbukti menjadi solusi efektif dan efisien bagi UMKM untuk mengatasi keterbatasan sumber daya dalam era pemasaran digital.

Abstract

In an increasingly disruptive era, businesses have yet to keep pace with the level of competition, particularly in digitalization. Their businesses remain traditional and conventional, necessitating solutions to achieve the desired success. The purpose of this Community Service program is to empower the digitalization of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as members of the Koperasi Desa Merah Putih (KDMP) in achieving business success, in Bojong Koneng Village, Babakan Madang District, Bogor Regency. The utilization of digital platforms includes: digital training/competency (Canva, CapCut); digital marketing for social media (TikTok, Instagram) and marketplaces (Shopee, Tokopedia); and digital finance (simple bookkeeping, the BukuWarung app, and digital payments using QRIS). This Community Service activity aims to address these challenges. Empowerment is carried out to increase the understanding of MSMEs as members of the KDMP in carrying out digitalization as well as practicing it using several digital platforms, so they can compete with other competitors in achieving business success. The activity method is carried out in several stages, namely: planning, socialization, workshop, technology implementation, mentoring and evaluation, and program sustainability. The results of this Community Service are characterized by the enthusiasm and ability of MSMEs in receiving materials and being able to practice utilizing digital platforms. This Community Service is very important, impactful, and beneficial for MSMEs, especially in Bojong Koneng village. This research can be used as a guide by academics, business actors, and stakeholders, and it is hoped that in the future research can be conducted in other fields and sectors.

Abstract

To improve the competitiveness of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), digital marketing is essential. One example is the Tempe Daun in Loh Sumber Village, Loa Kulu District, Kutai Kartanegara. This MSMEs still uses conventional marketing methods and cannot reach a wide market. This community service program aims to assist MSMEs with branding strategies and the use of digital technology to get  more customers (Tiani et al., 2024). Preliminary studies are conducted to understand the business conditions, interviews with business owners are conducted to collect data, the data was analyzed to identify the main problems, and mentoring and socialization are used to build strategies. This activity was carried out in several steps, such as creating a Shopee seller account, registering and tracking the business locations on Google Maps, providing training on logo creation and branding design using Canva, and socializing with business owners to improve their understanding of digital marketing. The results of the activity showed that using branding and digital marketing strategies increased the visibility of Tempe Daun products, making them better known in Loh Sumber Village and in other areas. In addition, these efforts encourages business owners to use online platforms more frequently to increase their business sales. In conclusion, Tempe Daun MSMEs have successfully utilized digital technology through this service program. This discovery is important because it is an example of a simple yet effective innovation that can be applied by other MSMEs to improve their competitiveness and business sustainability.

Abstract

The slaughtering of sacrificial animals (kurban) is a religious ritual rich in spiritual, social, and health values; however, in practice, it still faces several fundamental challenges. The traditional method of casting animals with ropes often poses safety risks to the committee, causes stress to the animals, and leads to a decline in meat quality. This community service program was conducted to provide a solution through the innovation of a safe and efficient animal casting tool that complies with Islamic principles. The method consisted of needs assessment, design and fabrication of a galvanized steel frame casting device with a portable hinge system, training on hygienic and syar’i slaughtering techniques, and field trials with the kurban committee. The results showed that the casting tool significantly reduced accident risks, shortened the time required for animal handling and slaughter, and maintained meat quality by minimizing animal stress. Moreover, the training improved the skills and knowledge of the kurban committee, particularly in halal, hygienic, and regulated slaughtering practices. The success of this program provided not only a technical solution but also reinforced the religious and social values of the kurban ritual, while fostering community independence in applying appropriate technology. Therefore, this community service contributes to enhancing safety, meat quality, and the sustainability of an orderly, hygienic, and syar’i-compliant kurban tradition.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) in Talagasari Village was carried out as a form of community engagement focusing on strengthening Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and improving the quality of education, health, social, and environmental aspects. The topic was chosen based on the village’s conditions, where local communities still face limitations in business management, digital literacy, and access to education and health information. The method of implementation included community needs assessment, participatory program planning, mentoring-based activities, and evaluation using both descriptive and qualitative approaches. The main program involved MSME empowerment through digitalization training, QRIS utilization, branding design, and inter-village collaborative seminars. Supporting programs included tutoring activities, elderly health services (posyandu), student medical check-ups, waste recycling into paving blocks, and participation in social and religious activities. The results show improved skills of MSME actors in utilizing digital platforms, increased motivation among children in learning, higher public awareness of health issues, and stronger social interaction within the community. This community service demonstrates that collaboration between students and local residents can foster positive changes in attitudes, socio-cultural dynamics, and economic empowerment. Therefore, the outcomes of the KKN program in Talagasari Village contribute significantly to building an independent, competitive, and sustainable community. Abstract

MSMEs are one of the drivers of a country’s economic engine. In this context, the empowerment of MSMEs is continuously pursued to optimize community production outcomes and improve community welfare. The purpose of this study is to empower MSMEs in managing their finances as well as to provide convenience in interacting with customers through digital media. The medium used is Geo-Biz. The method applied is community service conducted in Kampung Bharu, Malaysia. The results of the activity show that MSME development has become one of the government’s priorities, leading to two flagship programs: a promotion strategy using Geo-Biz and assistance in preparing income statements that the community can utilize to manage their businesses.
