Dulang adalah jurnal pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang ditertbitkan dan dikelola oleh Pusat Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Politeknik Manufaktur Negeri Bangka Belitung. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menginformasikan hasil-hasil pengabdian dari seluruh civitas akademika tentang beragam inovasi dan solusi-solusi dalam berbagai persoalan dalam masyarakat maupun industri. Abstract

The waste problem in Dukuhwaluh Village was still a lot of household waste thrown away in any places. This household waste causes unpleasant odors, environmental pollution, various disease outbreaks, aesthetic disturbances, and flooding during the rainy season. Another problem encountered in Dukuhwaluh Village is the provision of feed for catfish farmers, the price of which is increasingly expensive. This causes the development of the catfish farming business to be very slow and even threatened with collapse. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and skills of fish farmers in Dukuh Waluh Village in cultivating maggots using media from household organic waste. This community service activity also aims to develop magot as an alternative fish food that is cheap, has high nutritional value and is environmentally friendly. The implementation of this community service uses research-based community empowerment methods. Meanwhile, the approach method used in implementing community service is active and collaborative participation. The results of community service activities can increase the knowledge and skills of the Dukuhwaluh Village fish farmer in maggot cultivation. The fish farmer group has also been able to practice magot cultivation using household organic waste properly and correctly, as well as applying the results of maggot cultivation to feed catfish.

Abstract

The prevalence of stunting in the city of Parepare continues to fluctuate. Watang Bacukiki Village, located in Lappa Anging Village, is a remote area outside the city limits with limited access to education. It is also a region with a high incidence of stunting. One strategy for controlling the stunting rate is to educate the community about the causes and consequences of stunting. This approach can help to reduce the prevalence of stunting by empowering communities to take action to improve their understanding of this issue and its associated risks. The community service activity was conducted using a combination of lecture, discussion, and question-and-answer methods. Prior to the activity, a pretest was administered to 22 respondents, all of whom were female and ranged in age from 27 to 45 years. This provision aims to ascertain the respondents' initial knowledge about stunting and then provide them with education and subsequent measurement of changes in their knowledge. A data analysis was conducted to ascertain these changes, employing the McNemar test. The results demonstrated a statistically significant change with a p-value of 0.000, exceeding the alpha level of 0.05. This indicates that there were notable shifts in knowledge before and after the educational intervention. The findings suggest that there were changes in the knowledge of the Lappa Anging Village community regarding stunting. Based on these results, it is recommended to re-evaluate the service activities, for instance, by innovating high-nutrition food recipes for pregnant women and children under two years of age.

Abstract

Efficient electricity use in office spaces is a crucial effort to support sustainability and reduce operational costs. This devotion aims to implement an air conditioner (AC) control system based on image processing in the Zulzilan Record music studio to enhance energy efficiency. The system utilizes camera technology to detect and count the number of people in the room in real-time. This information is used to automatically adjust the AC's temperature and power, aligning cooling needs with the desired temperature range. The implementation involves installing hardware and software for the image processing system and providing training for Zuljilan Record's operational staff on the proper use of the developed tool. Test results show that the system can detect the number of people with an accuracy of up to 92% and maintain room temperatures within the range of 20-25°C. Additionally, the system improves user comfort and contributes to operational cost savings. The positive impacts of this initiative include reduced operational costs, improved energy efficiency, and the adoption of environmentally friendly technology. This implementation is expected to serve as a model for other institutions to apply similar innovations, supporting energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This mentoring program discusses strategies for optimizing halal certification and obtaining a NIB (Business Identification Number) for MSMEs, aiming to improve business legality and consumer trust by meeting officially recognized halal standards. The mentoring program was conducted in Sukoanyar Village, Mojo District, Kediri Regency, East Java, using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. The mentoring program offers strategies and practical steps that MSMEs can take to streamline their halal certification process. Furthermore, the mentoring program also features speakers from the Halal Center who will share their experiences and innovative solutions to facilitate MSMEs in obtaining halal certification.

Abstract

MSME players in Banyurasa Village, Sukahening Subdistrict, face constraints in the lack of utilization of digital platforms for marketing, limiting competitiveness and market expansion. This service program aims to improve the digital literacy and skills of MSME actors through training in online shop management and digital marketing. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The activity stages include initial data collection to understand business conditions, field surveys to identify challenges and potentials, and a seminar themed "Online Shop" which provides practical training on online shop operations, digital marketing strategies, and social media management. The results showed significant improvements in the understanding and skills of MSME players, especially in using social media for promotion, understanding the importance of branding, and utilizing digital platforms to expand markets. In addition, participants showed enthusiasm in applying the new knowledge to grow their businesses. In conclusion, this program succeeded in increasing the capacity of MSME players in facing the challenges of the digital era and had a positive impact on the competitiveness and income potential of local businesses. Continued support from various parties is needed to ensure the sustainability of the positive impact of this program.

Abstract

Students often face issues with writing reference management when writing scientific papers. To avoid plagiarism, it is necessary to cite and include a bibliography. Quality scientific work needs to understand the appropriate scientific writing rules including reference management. Training on reference management using Mendeley needs to be given to students to produce quality scientific work. This training was held face-to-face by providing reference management material using Mendeley and accompanying students to practice directly in using Mendeley reference management. The training was attended by 258 participants. This activity includes three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. Training on using Mendeley reference management has been carried out well and according to plan. The results of the training showed that there was an increase in students' knowledge and skills in using Mendeley reference management. This training needs to be carried out within the scope of other faculties and even universities so that the entire academic community can use Mendeley reference management properly. Participants are advised to continue practicing, developing reference management skills with Mendeley, attending further training, and utilizing mentoring to produce high-quality papers and face complex academic demands.

Abstract

Darussalam Islamic Boarding School Purwokerto is a partner in this community empowerment activity.  Boarding School students consist of various statuses, some are still studying in Junior High School, Senior High School and students of University.  Based on the results of the situation analysis, there is a problem being faced, namely that there are still many students whose personal skills in knowledge and skills regarding the processing of livestock products in the form of milk are still low.  In fact, the city of Purwokerto has regional potential as a source of dairy milk production because it has highland geography, for example Baturraden. Apart from that, Darussalam Boarding School has a shop that sells various kinds of student needs, so it can be used to improve the cottage economy, especially by empowering students to produce their own products by exploiting the region's potential, for example processing dairy cow's milk into pasteurized milk of various flavors.  The solution offered to overcome this problem is to provide technology transfer in the form of making various flavors of pasteurized milk.  This solution was chosen because making pasteurized milk uses simple technology, but can produce a product that has a longer shelf life because pathogenic bacteria have been killed.  The method used is: 1) Surveys and interviews to determine problems, 2) Socialization regarding the processing of livestock products in the form of milk, 3) Training, demonstrations and assistance in making various flavors of pasteurized milk, 4) Evaluation of the implementation of service.  The result of this service is that a formula for pasteurized milk with various flavors is obtained with the formula for one liter of milk adding ± 100 grams of granulated sugar, and ± 5 ml of various flavors.  The evaluation results from the pre test and post test showed an increase of 20.62%.  The conclusion obtained is that this service in the context of community empowerment with Darussalam Islamic Boarding School Purwokerto partners has succeeded in increasing the level of knowledge, understanding and skills of students in adopting the science and technology of processing livestock products in the form of milk into pasteurized milk of various flavors.

Abstract

Riso Village, Tapango District, Polewali Mandar Regency, is one of the coconut producing areas in West Sulawesi. However, most farmers only utilize coconut as copra, which has low economic value and depends on fluctuating market prices. The lack of skills and knowledge of farmers in processing coconut derivative products and limited market access are the main problems that hinder the increase in farmers' income. The purpose of this service activity is to empower coconut farmers in Riso Village through training in making coconut oil-based natural soap, in order to increase the added value of coconut and create new business opportunities. This activity also aims to improve farmers' skills in utilizing digital technology for product marketing. The service method used includes initial observation, coordination with partners, and training activities for making natural soap and how to market it. Training includes formulation of ingredients, production techniques, packaging, and the use of social media for marketing. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test to measure the increase in knowledge and skills of participants. The result of this training is the availability of natural soap prototypes given to partners as examples for further production. This activity was also able to significantly improve farmers' understanding and skills in producing natural soap. As many as 70% of participants understand how to make natural soap, while 80% of participants understand digital marketing strategies. The natural soap products produced have great market potential because they are environmentally friendly and use local raw materials. This program is expected to improve the welfare of coconut farmers in a sustainable manner through product diversification and digital marketing optimization.

Abstract

Generation Z faces challenges in conducting ethical digital businesses amidst rapid technological advancements. Many of them are tempted to gain instant profits without considering moral and security aspects. The online seminar "Classy Success with Profitable, Ethical, and Safe Business Principles" was conducted as part of a community service program to enhance digital literacy and business ethics among young entrepreneurs. The primary goal of this activity was to equip participants with a deeper understanding of business transparency, marketing ethics, and customer data protection within the digital ecosystem. This seminar utilized interactive presentations, group discussions, and case studies to engage participants effectively. An evaluation conducted through surveys indicated a significant increase in participants' understanding of key aspects of ethical digital business. These results suggest that the seminar effectively provided applicable insights for Generation Z in developing sustainable and responsible technology-based businesses. Similar activities are expected to continue to strengthen a healthy and ethical digital business ecosystem.

Abstract

Currently, small businesses in Tegal and the surrounding areas are not proficient in English. Frequently, difficulties in communication hinder the sale of products in foreign markets.The new idea's growth and improvement is being hindered by numerous challenges. The aim of this community service initiative is to support individuals in developing their language skills, particularly in the widely-used English language. Twenty small businesses (MSME) known as UMKM from Brebes, Tegal City/Regency, and Pemalang participated in the event, showcasing products with product export potential (culinary, craft and fashion). The English language training consists of four stages: acquiring new vocabulary, applying the vocabulary, engaging in verbal communication, and composing product descriptions. The participants benefited from the training session by enhancing their vocabulary (100 percent), oral communication abilities (233 percent), and confidence in public speaking without relying on a script. Furthermore, it showed them how to compose product descriptions in English for social media marketing.
