Abstract

The development of the Pancasila student profile within the Independent Learning framework requires effective communication between teachers and students to minimize misunderstandings. This study aims to explore and analyze the communication strategies employed by Islamic religious education teachers in shaping the dimensions of the Pancasila student profile. Using a case study approach at MI Al-Ma’arif 02, Malang Regency, data were collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), observations, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, data display, data condensation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The findings reveal that Islamic religious education teachers employ both individual and group communication approaches, utilizing technology-based media and involving parents to support the development of student character. The communication patterns include two-way communication through open class discussions, reflective activities, and ongoing guidance and monitoring, as well as collaborative communication through project-based learning, role-playing, and group work. In this process, Islamic religious education teachers function not only as educators but also as parental figures and peers. This research implies that there is a need for a program to develop communication for Islamic religious teachers so that the internalization of the values of the Pancasila student profile dimensions in Islamic elementary education institutions is more effective and efficient.

Abstract

Balinese script learning in schools still faces obstacles of low motivation and student learning outcomes due to the use of conventional models that do not actively involve students. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type cooperative learning model based on the Patik Bali application on students' motivation and learning outcomes in writing Balinese script. This study uses a quasi-experimental design method with the subjects of class X students of SMA Negeri 10 Denpasar which is divided into experimental classes and control classes. The instruments used included learning outcome tests and learning motivation questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out using the MANOVA test to see the effect of the learning model on two variables that rotate simultaneously. The results of the study show that the Patik Bali application-based STAD model has a positive and significant influence on student motivation and learning outcomes. The average learning motivation of the experimental class was 72.78 and the learning outcome was 81.86 higher than the control class which obtained an average motivation of 61.25 and learning outcomes of 75.25. These findings show that the integration of technology through the Patik Bali application in the cooperative learning model can increase student participation and understanding in Balinese script learning. This research offers a new contribution by integrating the culture-based Patik Bali application into the STAD cooperative learning model specifically designed for Balinese literacy learning and combining regional language preservation with digital pedagogy to improve student motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

The low numeracy literacy of high school students is an important challenge in 21st century education, especially in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum which emphasizes meaningful and sustainable learning. This study aims to explore the potential of integrating Project Based Learning (PjBL) and Mastery Learning as an innovative approach to improve students' numeracy literacy. The research was conducted through a narrative literature study by searching through articles from Google Scholar, Scopus, ERIC, and DOAJ databases. The inclusion criteria include articles published between 2013–2024, relevant to the topic, and in the form of scientific journals or accredited proceedings. The results of the study show that PjBL provides a contextual learning experience that improves the understanding of numerical concepts applicatively. Meanwhile, Mastery Learning ensures the completeness of each numeracy indicator through a gradual and evaluative approach. The integration of these two approaches creates active, structured, and adaptive learning to students' learning needs. The implications of these findings show that an integrative approach can support the transformation of numeracy learning in the context of the Independent Curriculum. The study also recommends the development of teaching tools and teacher training to effectively implement integrative models. In conclusion, the integration of PjBL and Mastery Learning is a promising strategy in improving numeracy literacy in a sustainable manner at the secondary education level.

Abstract

The validity of assessment instruments is the basis for ensuring the quality of learning assessment. A valid instrument allows the results of the evaluation to be used appropriately in educational decision-making. This study aims to examine the practice of using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and identify common weaknesses in the validation of assessment instruments through Systematic Literature Review (SLR) based on the PRISMA guidelines. Articles were searched from the Scopus database of 2020–2025, with 30 selected articles out of 746 analyzed. The results show that EFA is widely used to explore the validity of constructs in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor assessments in the fields of education, psychology, social, and Islamic Religious Education. The EFA is effective in identifying the structure of latent factors in instruments that do not yet have a standard theoretical model. Some common challenges include difficulty determining the number of factors, confusion between EFA and PCA, and limitations in dealing with residual correlations. Recommended solutions include parallel analysis, fit indices, the use of ESEM, as well as improved methodological training. This study concludes that the appropriate use of EFA supports the development of instruments that are more valid and adaptive to the needs of today's educational assessments.

Abstract

Learning in religious counseling education is still dominated by conventional approaches that are monological, normative, and lack critical reflection, thus having an impact on the low cognitive and affective involvement of participants. This study aims to explore and analyze the potential of the SER (Spirituality-Education-Reflection) approach as an integrative model in optimizing the learning process in religious counseling education programs. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach, analyzing 60 scientific sources published in the 2015–2025 period and relevant to the themes of religious education, critical pedagogy, reflection, and social transformation. The results of the study show that the SER approach is able to present a participatory, contextual, and transformative learning process. The spirituality component forms the basis of values, education directs an experiential dialogical process, and critical reflection bridges awareness between values and actions. These three elements form praxis as a conscious action that has an impact on personal and social change. In conclusion, the implementation of SER requires curriculum support, extension training, holistic evaluation, and contextual and participatory institutional policies. The implications of this research include strengthening the capacity of religious extension workers, curriculum design reform, and cross-sector collaboration in the sustainable implementation of SER. Further research can be directed to the implementation test of the SER model in various religious education contexts as well as the development of evaluation instruments based on spiritual and social reflection.

Abstract

The rapid development of digitalization has profoundly influenced students' spiritual lives, often shifting their patterns of worship, meaning-making, and social interaction. This study aims to explore the role of Christian education and worship learning in shaping student spirituality within the context of the digital era. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through library research, this study analyzes scientific books, theological journals, educational articles, and relevant research reports published in the last 15 years. The findings indicate that contextual, reflective, and experiential Christian education significantly contributes to holistic spiritual formation. Worship learning, when designed meaningfully, serves as a powerful medium to deepen faith experiences and initiate authentic spiritual transformation. In the digital era, students require digital spiritual literacy to ethically navigate information and use technology in ways aligned with their faith. The role of lecturers as spiritual mentors and the presence of an adaptive, value-based curriculum are critical in supporting students' spiritual development. The study concludes that Christian education remains highly relevant and increasingly urgent in an age where spiritual values are often marginalized. The implications of this research highlight the need to develop a Christian education curriculum that integrates faith and technology in critical and creative ways. Future research is encouraged to empirically examine the implementation of digital spiritual pedagogy and its long-term impact on student character and mission. This study contributes conceptually to the advancement of Christian education in higher education and offers a framework for developing resilient, reflective, and Christ-centered students in the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the roles and functions of supervisors in implementing the Merdeka Belajar policy at Islamic senior high schools (MAN) in Aceh Tamiang to improve students’ academic quality. The research focuses on four key supervisory functions: coaching, monitoring, evaluation, and training. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that supervisory efforts—such as guidance to teachers, training in innovative methods, routine monitoring, and data-driven evaluations—have significantly enhanced teaching quality and student motivation. Key supporting factors included principal support, teacher collaboration, and adequate facilities, while limitations such as time constraints and resistance from some teachers hindered effectiveness. The study underscores that the success of Merdeka Belajar implementation relies on active and collaborative engagement among supervisors, teachers, and school leadership. Practically, this research highlights the need to empower school supervisors as strategic partners in curriculum reform. Education stakeholders should provide structured support, adequate resources, and professional development opportunities for supervisors. Future research should expand to include various Islamic education institutions across different regions to account for contextual diversity. Longitudinal studies are also recommended to examine the sustained impact of supervisory practices on student outcomes and instructional transformation under the Merdeka Belajar framework.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Learning Curriculum in two Islamic boarding schools in Aceh Tamiang District, namely Dayah Babul Huda and Dayah Ibdaul Islam. The study identifies the processes of curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation, as well as the supporting factors and challenges faced. A multisite study with a qualitative approach was employed. The results show that both boarding schools implemented the Merdeka Learning Curriculum through collaboration between school leaders and teachers, with adjustments to Islamic values and local wisdom of Aceh. At Dayah Babul Huda, project-based learning and hands-on exploration were the main strategies, while Dayah Ibdaul Islam applied differentiated learning, grouping students based on their characteristics and interests. Evaluation was carried out periodically, focusing on formative and summative assessments. The findings imply that traditional Islamic education institutions are capable of adapting to modern educational reforms when local values are preserved and leadership is collaborative. This research contributes to the understanding of curriculum contextualization in conservative religious environments. Future studies are encouraged to explore long-term impacts of the Merdeka Learning Curriculum on student character development and to examine similar implementations in broader and more diverse Islamic educational settings
