Abstract

This study aims to investigate how Environmental Chemistry education contributes to shaping the science teacher identity of prospective chemistry teachers through a STEM approach. The bibliometric analysis method was conducted using Scopus data (2015–2024), analyzed with Biblioshiny and VOS Viewer. From an initial 483 documents, 418 relevant works comprising articles, books, and reviews were selected based on keywords such as "Science Identity", "Science Teacher Identity", "STEM Education Approach", and "Environmental Science Chemistry". Biblioshiny was used to identify trends over the decade, including annual publication rates, key journals, influential authors, productive affiliations and countries, globally cited articles, and frequently occurring keywords. VOS Viewer further enhanced the analysis by offering three types of visualizations network, overlay, and density to illustrate the relationships and research trends among the selected publications. These visual tools reveal the interconnectedness of topics and highlight emerging areas in the field. The findings offer valuable insights into the global development of research at the intersection of science identity, STEM education, and environmental chemistry. This bibliometric exploration provides a foundation for researchers to identify current trends, understand the research landscape, and recognize gaps that can inform future studies.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia requires an evaluation of teaching materials, including textbooks, to ensure alignment with the principles of the curriculum, but systematic research on textbook analysis is still limited. This research aims to identify research trends in the analysis of elementary school student books under the Merdeka Curriculum during the period 2020-2025. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, the researchers analyzed 5 journal articles and proceedings indexed in Google Scholar published between 2020-2025, focusing on studies of the analysis of Indonesian language textbooks for elementary school students. The research findings indicate: (1) an increasing trend in research on the analysis of Merdeka Curriculum textbooks, (2) the dominance of Universitas Negeri Semarang as the most active institution in this field, and (3) a diversity of analytical instruments used according to the individual objectives of each study. The study's conclusion underscores the importance of raising awareness among educators and researchers in evaluating the feasibility of textbooks, as well as the need for the development of more consistent analysis standards.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of religious extracurricular activities in enhancing students’ spirituality at SMP Negeri 23 Makassar. The background of this research lies in the phenomenon of students’ low spiritual awareness and limited participation in religious activities, despite the presence of Islamic education in formal classes. The purpose of this study is to analyze how extracurricular programs can improve students’ spiritual practices, moral behavior, and social awareness through structured non-formal education. A qualitative descriptive approach was applied, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving students, extracurricular mentors, Islamic education teachers, and school leaders. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model (data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing). The results show that activities such as Qur’an recitation, congregational prayers, sermon training, and Islamic commemorations have significantly enhanced students’ worship habits, discipline, politeness, and social concern. The active role of teacher-mentors as role models and the school’s institutional support emerged as key factors for success, while limited time and unequal student participation remain challenges. In conclusion, religious extracurricular activities proved effective in enhancing students’ spirituality, indicating that non-formal programs are essential to strengthen character education in inclusive public schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Google Sites-based guidebook through the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create) learning model to improve the critical thinking skills of fourth grade elementary school students in science lessons. The background of this study is the low utilization of information technology in elementary education and the dominance of conventional learning methods that are centered on teachers. The RADEC model that emphasizes student activity and collaboration is considered effective if integrated with interactive digital media such as Google Sites. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the Borg & Gall model which includes the stages of problem identification, product development, limited and extensive trials, product revision, and final evaluation. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, teacher and student practicality questionnaires, and critical thinking tests. The results showed that the guidebook was classified as very valid with an average expert validation score above 85%. effectiveness on students' critical thinking skills, with an average N-Gain score of 0.5, which is categorized as moderate. The significance between the results of the Pretest and Posttest (p < 0.05), shows that Google Sites through the RADEC model has a positive impact on the development of students' critical thinking. Its implementation is suitable for elementary school students who have the potential to improve the quality of science learning and creative thinking. The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes active, innovative, and technology-based learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low performance of educational personnel in Malinau, influenced by the leadership of the principal, work climate, and work motivation. The aim was to examine the partial and simultaneous effects of principal leadership, work climate, and work motivation on the performance of high school education staff in Malinau. The research employed a quantitative correlational approach with a total sample of 34 staff members selected through total sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed with simple and multiple linear regression tests along with classical assumption checks. Results indicated that principal leadership contributed 75.4%, work climate 84%, and work motivation 81.2%, with all three variables together explaining 85.7% of the variation in staff performance. The findings conclude that principal leadership, work climate, and motivation collectively have a significant effect on staff performance in Malinau. It is recommended that stakeholders focus on enhancing these factors to improve educational personnel performance.

Abstract

This study aims to improve flipbook-based learning outcomes. Technological advancements have shifted educational approaches from traditional methods to more interactive and digital formats. The methodology used was an experimental study featuring a Nonequivalent Control Group, involving two groups of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Banda Aceh. The experimental group engaged in flipbook-based learning, while the control group adopted conventional techniques. The results showed that students utilizing flipbooks showed a more significant improvement in learning outcomes compared to students in the control group. The experimental group achieved an average posttest score of 85%, reflecting a 50% increase from the pretest, while the control group only saw a 22% increase from pretest to posttest. Furthermore, the integration of flipbooks increased student engagement, made learning more engaging, and facilitated the understanding of abstract concepts. This study recommends that elementary school educators use flipbooks as a digital learning resource and receive adequate training in its implementation. Therefore, flipbook-based learning provides a viable alternative to improve academic achievement and foster student interest in elementary schools.
