Abstract

Digital transformation requires pesantren to preserve religious authority while renewing educational governance without abandoning their values and traditions. This study aims to analyze spiritual leadership at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Islam Karangcempaka, Bluto, Sumenep in maintaining religious authority and directing innovation in educational governance. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing with source and technique triangulation. The findings show that spiritual leadership serves as the foundation of pesantren management through exemplary conduct, trustworthiness, deliberation, and the cultivation of moral discipline. Digital developments do not weaken religious authority, but instead strengthen the role of the kiai and teachers as the primary references. Digital innovation develops gradually, selectively, and remains aligned with the identity of the pesantren. These findings confirm the importance of spiritual leadership in strengthening adaptive, value-rooted pesantren.

Abstract

The escalating competitive dynamics and shifting public preferences in the era of digital disruption necessitate Islamic educational institutions to reconstruct their public communication strategies. Numerous madrasas and Islamic schools are experiencing stagnant student enrollment due to conventional and fragmented public relations approaches. This situation highlights the urgency to formulate strategic communication guidelines, enabling institutions to overcome enrollment stagnation. This research aims to synthesize Public Relations (PR) management strategies proven effective in boosting the interest of prospective students. Employing the Kitchenham model of Systematic Literature Review (SLR), 10 published empirical journal articles (2021-2025) were collected and extracted. Based on thematic analysis, four primary strategic pillars were identified: (1) optimizing digital-based PR management (Cyber Public Relations) to facilitate interactive communication; (2) strategic planning involving stakeholder participation (committees, parents, community); (3) synergizing direct outreach with partnership networks; and (4) strengthening branding through service differentiation and religious values. The findings assert that increasing student enrollment heavily relies on transforming the PR role from a mere technical implementer to a strategic managerial function capable of adapting to technological innovations without compromising the institution's Islamic identity.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines how conflict management enhances organizational effectiveness in Islamic educational institutions amid digital transformation. Guided by PRISMA, 15 peer-reviewed studies (2020–2025) were thematically synthesized from an initial pool of 350 records. Findings indicate that conflicts primarily stem from interpersonal, structural, and value-based dynamics. Collaborative and compromise strategies yield the most positive organizational outcomes, with transformational leadership serving as a critical mediator. This study’s novelty lies in integrating contemporary conflict theory with Islamic deliberative ethics (musyawarah), which prioritizes justice, inclusivity, and collective responsibility. However, digital-era conflict dynamics remain underexplored. Overall, constructive conflict management significantly strengthens institutional stability, trust, and educational service quality. The review proposes an integrative framework aligning conflict resolution strategies, adaptive leadership, dialogic communication, Islamic values, and digital governance. Practically, institutional leaders should institutionalize preventive, data-informed conflict systems tailored to digitally evolving environments. The study also highlights the need for standardized effectiveness metrics and longitudinal, mixed-method research to validate these dynamics. Ultimately, conflict should be reconceptualized as a strategic lever for organizational resilience and innovation in Islamic education.

Abstract

Reward and punishment are human resource management strategies widely implemented in educational organizations to improve teacher performance. This study aims to analyze the impact of reward and punishment on teacher performance, job satisfaction, and loyalty based on a literature review from various recent national and international journals. The method used is a literature review, examining and analyzing relevant scientific articles. The results show that reward has a positive and significant impact on improving teacher performance, job satisfaction, and loyalty to the educational institution. Rewards, both financial and non-financial, such as professional recognition and career development opportunities, have been proven to enhance both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of teachers. Meanwhile, punishment has a more complex impact; in certain contexts, it can improve discipline and performance, but if applied disproportionately, it can potentially decrease satisfaction and loyalty. Therefore, the application of reward is more recommended as the main strategy in educational management, while punishment should be used selectively, fairly, and educationally. These findings have implications for school principals and education managers in designing effective and sustainable teacher performance management policies.

Abstract

Teacher job satisfaction is a strategic issue in Islamic education because it is related to the quality of learning, organizational stability, and the sustainability of educational services. This study aims to synthesize the determinants, impacts, and directions of conceptual development of teacher job satisfaction in Islamic educational institutions. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) based on PRISMA 2020 on articles published in 2019-2025 searched through Google Scholar, Crossref, SINTA/OJS, and Scopus Preview. Of the 126 initial records, 12 primary articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed thematically. The results show that teacher job satisfaction in Islamic education is influenced by four groups of factors: material well-being and work facilities, madrasah leadership and culture, professional competence and work motivation, and Islamic spirituality and Islamic work ethics. Job satisfaction impacts increased performance, organizational commitment, loyalty, and reduced work stress, while dissatisfaction is related to the risk of decreased motivation and turnover intentions. This study concludes that teacher job satisfaction in Islamic education cannot be understood solely as a psychological response to compensation, but as a multidimensional construct that combines material, professional, social, and transcendental dimensions. The study's contribution lies in the formulation of an integrative framework for job satisfaction based on Islamic values that can be used as a basis for developing human resource management policies in Islamic schools and educational institutions.

Abstract

In the era of digital disruption, Islamic educational institutions face the challenge of enhancing competitiveness while preserving Islamic educational values. This study aims to analyze the integration of strategic management and artificial intelligence (AI) in strengthening the competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions through a systematic literature review. Following a structured literature search protocol across academic databases and institutional repositories, 50+ peer-reviewed articles, policy reports, and scholarly publications from 2020 to 2026 were selected and analyzed using thematic content analysis. The findings reveal that the synergy between structured strategic management and AI adoption significantly enhances institutional competitiveness through data-driven planning, curriculum innovation, administrative efficiency, and adaptive transformational leadership. However, implementation remains constrained by limited digital infrastructure, gaps in AI literacy among human resources, and weak performance-based evaluation cultures. This study emphasizes that sustainable competitive advantage is achieved when Islamic educational institutions align modern governance, transparent management practices, and the internalization of Islamic values as a core value proposition. The findings offer a conceptual framework and practical recommendations for institutional leaders and policymakers to design adaptive, sustainable, and quality-oriented digital transformation strategies.

Abstract

This study analyzes community readiness for digital transformation through perspectives on digital curricula in formal and nonformal education in Pamekasan. Employing a quantitative descriptive approach, data were collected from 55 respondents (aged 13–22 and ≥23) via structured online questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results reveal that 92.7% of respondents consider formal education highly important, with 87.3% viewing it as classroom-centered and 89.1% socially valuing formal credentials more. Conversely, 94.5% acknowledge nonformal education enhances communication skills, 89.1% rate its learning methods as more flexible, and 98.2% recognize it as an inclusive pathway for underprivileged groups. The findings highlight a perceptual dichotomy: formal education is perceived as more structured and prestigious, while nonformal education excels in practical skill development and flexibility. Successful digital curriculum transformation requires strengthened ICT educator competencies, equitable infrastructure, and integrated pedagogical-andragogical approaches. This research offers strategic insights for digital curriculum policy and community empowerment in the digital era.

Abstract

Learning Modern Physics, particularly the Schrödinger equation, often presents significant challenges due to the abstract nature of the concepts and the dominance of mathematical representations. These challenges were further intensified by the limitations of face-to-face instruction in post-disaster conditions in Sumatra, especially in Aceh. This study aimed to develop an AI-based Modern Physics instructional video designed to enhance conceptual visualization and narrative clarity of the Schrödinger equation while supporting students’ independent learning. The study employed a research and development approach involving 40 undergraduate students enrolled in a Modern Physics course at Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry. The instructional video was developed using artificial intelligence to strengthen conceptual visualization, integrate excerpts from popular films as contextual representations, and provide explanations through real-time digital pen annotations. In addition, the video was complemented by an AI-based conceptual assistant accessed with a QR code to support students’ self-directed learning. Data were collected through expert validation, student feasibility testing, and student response questionnaires. The results indicated that the developed instructional video was categorized as highly feasible and was perceived as accessible, engaging, and relevant for independent learning. The use of TikTok as a video distribution platform was found to be effective in addressing access limitations and network constraints. The findings suggest that AI-based instructional videos have strong potential as a flexible and adaptive learning support solution for Modern Physics education in post-disaster contexts.

Abstract

This conceptual literature review examines the theoretical integration of Total Quality Management (TQM) principles with Islamic Itqan (professionalism) and Ahsanu ‘Amala (excellence) values to map customer satisfaction in Islamic elementary education. Rather than reporting empirical implementation, the study synthesizes scholarly and Islamic literature to construct a conceptual framework that aligns managerial quality standards with spiritual and character development objectives. Through systematic analysis of relevant publications, the review identifies five core TQM principles (customer focus, total involvement, continuous improvement, visionary leadership, and data-driven decision-making) and recontextualizes them within Islamic educational ethics. The synthesis demonstrates that stakeholder satisfaction emerges when academic quality benchmarks are harmonized with moral and spiritual formation. The review further emphasizes that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are not merely administrative tools, but operational expressions of the Islamic principle of mizan (balance and fairness) in service delivery. By mapping the intersection of modern quality management and Islamic work ethics, this paper offers a conceptual foundation for Islamic elementary schools to synchronize national standards with institutional religious values. It concludes that ethically grounded standardization provides a structured pathway to sustain public trust and service consistency.
