Abstract

 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan interferensi bahasa Sasak terhadap kemampuan berbahasa Indonesia siswa di sekolah menengah multibahasa. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, teknik rekam, dan catatan lapangan untuk memperoleh data yang mendalam dan komprehensif. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 30 siswa kelas 2 SMA yang dipilih berdasarkan intensitas penggunaan bahasa Sasak dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang mencakup empat tahap utama, yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan secara sistematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya interferensi bahasa Sasak terhadap bahasa Indonesia siswa yang mencakup tiga aspek utama, yakni fonologi, morfologi, dan sintaksis. Pada tataran fonologi, interferensi muncul dalam bentuk penambahan fonem, perubahan fonem, serta perubahan diftong. Pada tataran morfologi, interferensi teridentifikasi dalam kesalahan penggunaan kata dasar serta adaptasi bentuk kata yang mengikuti pola bahasa Sasak. Sementara itu, pada tataran sintaksis, interferensi tampak dalam kesalahan struktur kalimat dan penggunaan unsur kata yang berlebihan. Keunikan penelitian ini terletak pada konteksnya yang berfokus pada sekolah menengah multibahasa, yang hingga kini masih jarang dikaji dalam penelitian interferensi bahasa daerah lainnya. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Indonesia siswa, sekaligus mendukung pelestarian bahasa daerah sebagai bagian integral dari kekayaan budaya bangsa. Sasak Language Interference on Students' Indonesian Language Proficiency in a Multilingual Secondary School  This study aims to describe the interference of the Sasak language on the Indonesian language proficiency of students in multilingual secondary schools. The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative, with data collection methods through observation, interviews, recording techniques, and field notes to obtain in-depth and comprehensive data. The research subjects consisted of 30 high school sophomores selected based on the intensity of their use of the Sasak language in their daily lives. Data analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman's interactive model, which includes four main stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and systematic conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that there is interference from the Sasak language in the students' Indonesian language, covering three main aspects, namely phonology, morphology, and syntax. At the phonological level, interference appears in the form of phoneme addition, phoneme change, and diphthong change. At the morphological level, interference was identified in the incorrect use of root words and the adaptation of word forms following the patterns of the Sasak language. Meanwhile, at the syntactic level, interference was evident in errors in sentence structure and excessive use of word elements. The uniqueness of this study lies in its focus on multilingual secondary schools, which until now have rarely been studied in other regional language interference studies. This research is expected to make a real contribution to improving students' Indonesian language skills, while also supporting the preservation of regional languages as an integral part of the nation's cultural wealth.

Abstract

Fenomena perkawinan tidak tercatat, termasuk nikah siri, masih umum terjadi di Indonesia dan menyebabkan perempuan serta anak berada dalam posisi hukum yang rentan. Pemerintah menerapkan kebijakan pencantuman status “kawin belum tercatat” dalam Kartu Keluarga sebagai bentuk pengakuan administratif dan perlindungan hukum perempuan dan anak melalui Permendagri Nomor 118 tahun 2017. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dampak kebijakan tersebut terhadap perlindungan hukum serta pemenuhan hak-hak perempuan dan anak dalam perkawinan tidak tercatat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan sosio-legal dengan metode kuantitatif melalui survei terhadap masyarakat di Kota Surabaya. Sampel penelitian dipilih dengan purposive sampling menghasilkan 167 sampel. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif berupa distribusi frekuensi dan persentase dengan aplikasi SPSS 27. Hasil survei dikaji secara normatif berdasarkan peraturan perundang-undangan tentang perkawinan dan administrasi kependudukan, serta ditafsirkan melalui perspektif teori feminisme liberal dimana hukum sebagai sarana mewujudkan kesetaraan gender. Uji reliabilitas menunjukkan Cronbach’s Alpha 0,858 dan uji Pearson dengan signifikansi < 0,001  yang menunjukkan item pertanyaan reliabel dan valid. Analisis terhadap delapan indikator termasuk: kepastian hukum, legalitas keluarga, rasa aman, perlindungan istri dan anak, serta kesetaraan gender. Seluruh indikator menunjukkan tingkat persetujuan tinggi pada kategori setuju dan sangat setuju, menandakan persepsi responden yang sangat positif terhadap pencatatan perkawinan tidak tercatat. Meskipun pencatatan belum sepenuhnya menyetarakan status hukum dengan perkawinan resmi, temuan menunjukkan peran pentingnya dalam menjamin perlindungan dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan analisis awal terhadap dampak kebijakan pencatatan perkawinan dengan cakupan lokasi yang terbatas. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat mengembangkan analisis untuk menggambarkan dampak kebijakan terhadap upaya perlindungan perempuan dan anak sebagai bagian dari tujuan hukum nasional. Protection of Women's and Children's Rights through the Unregistered Marriage Registration Policy Unregistered marriages, including nikah siri, remains common in Indonesia, placing women and children in vulnerable positions. Pursuant to Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 118 of 2017, unregistered marriages are recorded on the Family Card as a form of administrative recognition and legal protection for women and children involved in such marriages. This study aims to analyze the impact of this policy on legal protection and the fulfillment of women’s and children’s rights in unregistered marriages. Using a socio-legal approach with a quantitative method, a survey was conducted among residents of Surabaya City with a total sample of 167 selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequency and percentage distributions with SPSS 27. The survey results were examined normatively based on marriage and civil administration laws and interpreted through liberal feminist theory. Reliability testing showed a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.858, and the Pearson test with significance < 0.001 confirmed that all items were reliable and valid. Analysis of eight indicators including legal certainty, family legitimacy, security, protection of wives and children, and gender equality—revealed high agreement levels in the “agree” and “strongly agree” categories, indicating positive perceptions of unregistered marriage registration. Although registration has not fully equalized legal status with formal marriage, the findings highlight its essential role in ensuring basic protection. This study provides an initial analysis of policy impacts within a limited scope, suggesting further research to explore broader effects on women’s and children’s legal protection as part of national legal objectives.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of social media on religious perceptions and behaviors among university students in Medan City within the context of digital religiosity. Employing a qualitative research design with an interpretative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with ten active university students who regularly access religious content on social media platforms. The findings indicate that social media has become a primary source of religious information and spiritual engagement for students, shaping their understanding of religious values, tolerance, and ethical conduct. Exposure to digital religious content contributes to positive behavioral changes, including increased motivation for worship, enhanced moral self-regulation, and greater spiritual awareness. However, the study also reveals the ambivalent nature of digital religiosity. Alongside its constructive potential, social media presents significant challenges, such as interpretive confusion, misinformation, and exposure to intolerant or polarized religious narratives. These challenges are exacerbated by the lack of clear religious authority in digital spaces and the algorithmic tendencies of social media platforms that reinforce echo chambers.The study underscores the importance of strengthening Religious Digital Literacy to enable students to critically engage with online religious content and to foster inclusive, moderate, and reflective forms of religiosity in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the application of restorative justice as an alternative approach to addressing the persistent problem of overcrowding in Indonesian correctional institutions. Overcrowding driven by the dominant use of imprisonment—has undermined the rehabilitative function of prisons, increased health and security risks, and reduced the overall effectiveness of correctional programs. Using a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach, this study analyzes legal frameworks, policy documents, and empirical research relevant to restorative justice and alternative sentencing. Literature searches were conducted through databases such as Sage, Elsevier, Cochrane Library, SSRN, and Google Scholar. Following a PRISMA-based selection process of 87 initial documents, 13 publications (2013–2025), including academic articles, policy reports, and statutory regulations, met the inclusion criteria. The findings indicate that restorative justice has significant potential to reduce incarceration rates through resolution mechanisms centered on healing, accountability, and social reintegration. However, its implementation in Indonesia remains constrained by limited human resources, a predominantly retributive legal culture, and weak inter-agency coordination. These findings underscore the need for stronger regulatory support, expansion of restorative mechanisms into the correctional stage, and data-driven evaluation to reduce overcrowding and advance a more humane and effective penal system.

Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam membentuk kualitas sumber daya manusia melalui proses pembelajaran yang efektif, salah satunya dengan didukung oleh penggunaan media pembelajaran yang menarik dan disesuaikan dengan karakteristik peserta didik. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Negeri 5 Kemenuh Gianyar dengan fokus pada Fase C (kelas V dan VI), dan mencakup tiga pertanyaan utama: (1) Jenis media pembelajaran apa yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia? (2) Tantangan apa saja yang dihadapi dalam penerapan media tersebut? dan (3) Apa dampak dari penggunaan media tersebut? Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi bentuk media yang digunakan, memahami hambatan yang muncul, serta menelaah dampak yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan landasan teori konstruktivisme Piaget, behaviorisme Skinner, dan psikolinguistik Chaer, dengan guru kelas V dan VI sebanyak 2 (dua) orang serta siswa Fase C sebanyak 40 (empat puluh) orang sebagai subjek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka, kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang digunakan meliputi permainan ular tangga, roda berima, teka-teki kata, dan permainan bahasa berbasis kelompok. Tantangan yang dihadapi antara lain keterbatasan perangkat, perbedaan kemampuan siswa, kendala teknis, serta keterbatasan waktu bagi guru dalam memberikan bimbingan. Meskipun demikian, dampak yang dihasilkan bersifat positif, terlihat dari meningkatnya motivasi, partisipasi, kreativitas, dan kemampuan komunikasi siswa. Penelitian ini memiliki kontribusi teoritis tentang jenis-jenis media pembelajaran alternatif yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Dasar. The Use of Learning Media in Indonesian Language Subjects for Phase C Students at SD Negeri 5 Kemenuh Gianyar Education plays a crucial role in shaping the quality of human resources through effective learning, one of which is supported by the use of engaging learning media tailored to students’ characteristics. This study was conducted at SD Negeri 5 Kemenuh Gianyar, focusing on Phase C (grades V and VI), with three main research questions: (1) What types of learning media are used in Indonesian language lessons? (2) What challenges are faced in applying these media? and (3) What are the impacts of using such media? The objectives were to identify the forms of media, understand the obstacles, and examine the resulting impacts. The study applied Piaget’s constructivism, Skinner’s behaviorism, and Chaer’s psycholinguistic theories, with with 2 (two) grade V and VI teachers and 40 (forty) Phase C students as research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study, then analyzed qualitatively in a descriptive manner. The findings reveal that the learning media used include snakes and ladders, rhyme wheels, word puzzles, and group-based language games. The challenges encountered involve limited devices, differences in student abilities, technical barriers, and time constraints for teacher guidance. Nevertheless, the impacts are largely positive, reflected in improved motivation, participation, creativity, and communication skills among students. This research has a theoretical contribution regarding the types of alternative learning media that can be used in learning Indonesian in elementary schools.

Abstract

Abstrak Informasi mengenai pendidikan tinggi bagi remaja di wilayah perdesaan masih terbatas yang berdampak pada rendahnya motivasi belajar, pemahaman perencanaan masa depan, dan kepercayaan diri dalam meraih cita-cita. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh intervensi berupa seminar dan diskusi kolaboratif antara Politeknik Manufaktur Bandung, UPHF Prancis, dan Polytech Lille Prancis terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar, pemahaman tentang pendidikan tinggi, kepercayaan diri, serta orientasi masa depan remaja di Kampung Batuloceng. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif dan kuasi-eksperimen. Analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif berdasarkan hasil pra-tes dan pasca-tes terhadap 11 remaja berusia 11–16 tahun. Instrumen berupa kuesioner skala Likert dan pertanyaan terbuka untuk menilai perubahan sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Terdapat peningkatan signifikan pada seluruh aspek yang diukur. Sebelum kegiatan, sebagian besar responden ragu terkait langkah mencapai tujuan dan memiliki kepercayaan diri rendah. Setelah kegiatan, seluruh responden memberikan jawaban positif pada aspek semangat meraih cita-cita, pemahaman langkah mencapai masa depan, pengetahuan pengembangan diri, serta kepercayaan diri. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa intervensi berbasis seminar dan diskusi kolaboratif efektif memperkuat motivasi dan efikasi diri remaja, serta berpotensi menjadi model pendampingan berkelanjutan untuk meningkatkan aspirasi pendidikan tinggi di wilayah perdesaan. Effectiveness of Inter-University Seminars and Discussions in Developing Motivation, Self-Concept, and Future Aspirations of Rural Adolescents Information about higher education for adolescents in rural areas remains limited, leading to low learning motivation, inadequate future planning, and low self-confidence in achieving aspirations. This study aims to analyze the impact of an intervention in the form of seminars and collaborative discussions between Bandung Manufacturing Polytechnic, UPHF France, and Polytech Lille France on improving learning motivation, understanding of higher education, self-confidence, and future orientation among adolescents in Batuloceng Village. This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive and quasi-experimental design. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis based on pre-test and post-test results from 11 adolescents aged 11–16 years. The instruments included a Likert-scale questionnaire and open-ended questions to assess changes before and after the intervention. The findings indicate a significant improvement across all measured aspects. Prior to the intervention, most respondents expressed uncertainty about steps to achieve their goals and demonstrated low self-confidence. After the intervention, all respondents provided positive responses regarding enthusiasm for achieving aspirations, understanding steps toward future goals, knowledge of self-development, and increased self-confidence. These results confirm that seminar-based and collaborative discussion interventions effectively strengthen adolescents’ motivation and self-efficacy. Furthermore, this approach has the potential to serve as a sustainable mentoring model to enhance higher education aspirations in rural areas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis transformasi praktik pembelajaran guru sekolah dasar melalui integrasi kegiatan coding dan kecerdasan buatan (AI) di SDN 29 Ampenan, Kota Mataram. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologi dengan melibatkan 1 guru pengampu coding dan AI, 10 siswa kelas V sebagai partisipan utama, serta 1 kepala sekolah sebagai informan pendukung. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode fenomenologi Colaizzi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru mengombinasikan media tradisional seperti papan tulis dengan media digital berupa laptop, proyektor, serta aplikasi berbasis AI seperti Code.org dan ABC ya. Pemanfaatan AI terbukti mempercepat perencanaan pembelajaran, mempermudah penyusunan bahan ajar, dan mendorong kreativitas guru dalam merancang aktivitas belajar. Selain itu, kegiatan coding efektif meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir logis, komputasional, dan sistematis siswa. Kendala yang muncul berupa keterbatasan perangkat dan jaringan internet, namun diatasi melalui strategi pembelajaran kelompok dan kegiatan unplugged coding. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi AI dan coding berkontribusi pada penguatan literasi digital, etika teknologi, dan karakter adaptif siswa sekolah dasar, serta mendorong guru menuju praktik pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif dan responsif terhadap tuntutan era digital. Transforming Elementary School Teachers' Learning Practices with the Help of Coding and Artificial Intelligence (AI) This study aims to analyze the transformation of learning practices of elementary school teachers through the integration of coding and artificial intelligence (AI) activities at SDN 29 Ampenan, Mataram City. The study used a phenomenological qualitative approach involving 1 coding and AI teacher, 10 grade V students as the main participant, and 1 principal as a supporting informant. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. The results of the study showed that teachers combined traditional media such as whiteboards with digital media in the form of laptops, projectors, and AI-based applications such as Code.org and ABC. The use of AI has been proven to speed up learning planning, facilitate the preparation of teaching materials, and encourage teachers' creativity in designing learning activities. In addition, coding activities are effective in improving students' logical, computational, and systematic thinking skills. The obstacles that arise are in the form of limited devices and internet networks, but they are overcome through group learning strategies and unplugged coding activities. This study concludes that the integration of AI and coding contributes to strengthening the digital literacy, technological ethics, and adaptive character of elementary school students, as well as encouraging teachers towards learning practices that are more innovative and responsive to the demands of the digital age.

Abstract

Pendidikan Indonesia saat ini menghadapi tuntutan adaptasi digital sekaligus kesenjangan infrastruktur yang persisten, menjadikan peran kepala sekolah di daerah Tertinggal, Terdepan, dan Terluar (3T) sangat krusial. Kajian literatur ini bertujuan menganalisis praktik, tantangan, dan strategi manajemen sumber daya manusia (SDM) pendidikan oleh kepala sekolah di wilayah dengan keterbatasan infrastruktur tersebut. Menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan pendekatan analisis tematik, kajian ini menganalisis 24 artikel terpilih dari 62 publikasi awal yang terbit pada rentang tahun 2020 hingga 2025. Proses seleksi didasarkan pada relevansi terhadap manajemen SDM dan kepemimpinan di daerah terpencil.Temuan menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah di daerah 3T menghadapi "beban ganda": mengelola kekurangan infrastruktur dasar yang memengaruhi retensi dan motivasi guru, serta memenuhi tuntutan kompetensi digital nasional. Model manajemen SDM yang kaku terbukti tidak sesuai untuk konteks 3T. Strategi yang efektif ditemukan menekankan pada kepemimpinan adaptif dan kolaboratif, serta penguatan kolaborasi antar-guru sebagai bentuk pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kepemimpinan partisipatif dan inovatif merupakan faktor kunci dalam keberhasilan manajemen SDM di wilayah dengan keterbatasan infrastruktur. Implikasi studi ini menekankan perlunya kebijakan pelatihan kepala sekolah yang lebih kontekstual dan tidak hanya bersifat administratif. Analysis of Human Resource Management (HRM) in Education by School Principals in Infrastructure-Limited Areas: A Literature Review  Indonesia’s education system is currently confronted with the dual demands of digital adaptation and persistent infrastructural disparities, making the role of school principals in remote, frontier, and outermost regions (3T) exceptionally critical. This literature review aims to analyze the practices, challenges, and human resource management (HRM) strategies employed by school principals in these infrastructure-limited areas. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with a thematic analysis approach, the study examines 24 selected articles from an initial pool of 62 publications published between 2020 and 2025. The selection process was based on relevance to HRM and educational leadership in remote regions. The findings indicate that school principals in 3T areas face a “double burden”: managing shortages in basic infrastructure that affect teacher retention and motivation, while simultaneously meeting national digital competency requirements. Rigid HRM models are shown to be ineffective for the contextual realities of 3T regions. Effective strategies emphasize adaptive and collaborative leadership, as well as strengthening teacher collaboration as a form of continuous professional development. The review concludes that participatory and innovative leadership are key factors in successful HRM within infrastructurally constrained environments. The study’s implications highlight the need for more contextualized principal training policies that go beyond administrative orientation.

Abstract

Transformasi digital pendidikan menjadi kebutuhan mendesak di era pembelajaran abad ke-21. Sekolah dituntut untuk mampu mengintegrasikan teknologi secara menyeluruh, salah satunya melalui program Google for Education yang mendukung integrasi platform digital berbasis Google seperti Google Classroom, Google Drive, Google Meet, serta layanan Google Workspace lainnya dalam proses belajar mengajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesiapan SMAN 2 Sipora dalam proses menuju Sekolah Rujukan Google melalui pelatihan Google for Education. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif fenomenologis, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan analisis dokumen. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 17 partisipan yang meliputi kepala sekolah, guru, tenaga kependidikan, dan murid. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman, meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesiapan SMAN 2 Sipora berada pada kategori adaptif menuju progresif. Empat dimensi kesiapan utama teridentifikasi, yaitu: (1) kesiapan infrastruktur digital, (2) kesiapan sumber daya manusia pendidikan, (3) kesiapan kepemimpinan dan manajerial digital, serta (4) kesiapan budaya pembelajaran digital. Pelatihan Google for Education menjadi factor penggerak utama dalam peningkatan literasi digital guru dan pembentukan budaya kolaboratif berbasis teknologi. Penelitian ini berkontribusi terhadap penguatan teori kesiapan transformasi digital pendidikan serta memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi sekolah di wilayah kepulauan dalam mengadopsi inovasi teknologi secara bertahap dan berkelanjutan. Readiness of SMAN 2 Sipora to Become a Google Reference School: A Case Study of Google for Education Training  The digital transformation of education has become an essential requirement in the 21st-century learning era. Schools are expected to integrate technology comprehensively, including through the Google for Education program, which facilitates the use of Google Workspace services such as Google Classroom, Google Drive, Google Meet, and others in teaching and learning. This study aims to examine the readiness of SMAN 2 Sipora in progressing toward becoming a Google Reference School through the implementation of Google for Education training. This study employed a descriptive phenomenological qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. A total of 17 participants were involved, consisting of the principal, teachers, educational staff, and students. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and verification. The results indicate that SMAN 2 Sipora demonstrates a readiness level categorized as adaptive toward progressive. Four primary dimensions of readiness were identified: (1) digital infrastructure readiness, (2) readiness of educational human resources, (3) digital leadership and managerial readiness, and (4) digital learning culture readiness. The Google for Education training played a significant role in enhancing teachers’ digital literacy and fostering a collaborative, technology-based learning culture. This study contributes to the development of a theory of digital education transformation readiness and offers practical recommendations for schools in archipelagic regions to adopt technological innovations gradually and sustainably.

Abstract

Scabies remains a relevant public health problem in communal settings such as Islamic boarding schools, where crowding and shared daily facilities facilitate transmission. Although various health education activities have been implemented, field observations often show that increased knowledge does not automatically lead to sustained preventive practices. This study aimed to describe levels of knowledge and preventive behaviour related to scabies among female students and to highlight the gap between the two in the context of Nurul Huda Islamic Boarding School, Mempawah District. A descriptive cross-sectional design was applied with total sampling of 69 female students. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire covering knowledge about the cause, transmission, symptoms, and prevention of scabies, as well as preventive behaviours related to personal hygiene, clothing, towels, bedding, and the dormitory environment. Data were analysed descriptively and presented as frequencies and percentages. The findings show that most respondents had good knowledge of scabies, yet only about half demonstrated preventive behaviour in the good category. Risky practices, such as sharing beds and clothing and inconsistent management of clothes and bedding, remained relatively common. These results support the view that knowledge alone is insufficient to ensure consistent preventive behaviour, particularly in crowded environments with limited facilities and strong peer norms. The cross-sectional design, reliance on self-reported data, and absence of formal psychometric testing of the instrument limit the strength of inferences and point to the need for further, more analytical research on determinants of scabies-preventive behaviour in boarding school settings.
