Abstract

The use of herbal plants as local wisdom in the Gampong Nusa community urgently requires innovation in the development of safe and effective muscle relaxant supplements. The purpose of this study was to provide education and training on innovative ways to make herbal medicines based on Moringa leaves, which can improve community knowledge and skills. A participatory approach was used, involving 16 participants. The empowerment results showed an 85% increase in knowledge and skills in formulating muscle relaxant supplements from Moringa leaves. It is hoped that this innovative education and training can support the development of safe and sustainable herbal medicines based on local wisdom at the village level, as well as improve community health.

Abstract

Skin cancer is one of the most common types of cancer with a continuously increasing global incidence rate, making early detection essential to improve treatment success and reduce mortality. This study aimed to develop a mobile-based skin cancer detection application using the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) method with the MobileNetV3 architecture implemented in a Flutter application. The dataset used consisted of 1,500 dermatoscopic images divided into three classes: Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC), Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC), and healthy skin (Normal). The research stages included data preprocessing through resizing, normalization, and image augmentation, model training using MobileNetV3Small with transfer learning and fine-tuning techniques, model conversion into TensorFlow Lite (TFLite) format, and implementation into an Android-based mobile application. Model evaluation was performed using a confusion matrix with accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The results showed that the model achieved an accuracy of 93.75% with average precision, recall, and F1-score values of 0.94. In single-image prediction testing, the model achieved confidence scores of 98.44% for the BCC class, 98.14% for the SCC class, and 99.91% for the Normal class. The implementation of Test Time Augmentation (TTA), Dropout, and L2 regularization proved effective in improving model stability and performance. In addition to its high accuracy, the application was able to run in real time on Android devices with fast inference time and efficient memory usage. This study demonstrates that the combination of MobileNetV3Small and Flutter can provide a lightweight, accurate, and accessible solution for early skin cancer detection.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance student competencies in operational management and human resource (HR) practices through an industrial visit to Johor Ceramics Factory, Malaysia. The activity employs an experiential learning approach that integrates field observation, semi-structured interviews with managers and HR supervisors, and student reflective discussions. This method provides practical understanding of production flow, quality control, shift management, employee training, and motivation and incentive systems. Data were collected through participatory observation, interviews, documentation, and focus group discussions, then analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis with thematic coding and theory-practice comparison. The results show that students were able to integrate management theory with actual factory practices, enhancing operational understanding, analytical skills, critical thinking, collaboration, and reflection. Additionally, the activity benefits industry partners through recommendations for improving efficiency and HR management. Academic implications indicate that industrial visits support curriculum development based on experiential learning and service-learning, ensuring student competencies develop holistically and practically. This model can serve as an effective integrative learning strategy in higher education while providing tangible contributions to industry and student professional learning.

Abstract

This community service program, titled "Moderate Youth Program: Shaping Future Leaders Who Respect Diversity and Religious Tolerance" was implemented in Tapanuli Tengah Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia. The program addressed the elevated risk of religious conflict in this pluralistic region, where Muslim and Christian populations are nearly equal in proportion (42.53% and 57.32%, respectively). Employing the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, the program engaged youth from Islamic and Christian organizations, local religious leaders, and the Forum for Religious Harmony (FKUB) as active participants and co-researchers throughout all stages of implementation. The activities included workshops, dialogues, and conflict resolution simulations, which enhanced participants' understanding of religious moderation and provided them with practical skills for mediating conflicts and promoting tolerance. Key outcomes included increased youth awareness of the importance of interfaith dialogue, the establishment of interfaith youth networks, and the formulation of a joint action plan to sustain peacebuilding initiatives. The program demonstrates the strategic role of youth in promoting harmony and social cohesion in a multicultural setting. Future program improvements should include geographic expansion, broader stakeholder inclusion, and integration of digital platforms to support sustained community engagement.

Abstract

This community service article describes a cultural promotion activity through a Nusantara traditional costume fashion show under the theme “Wonderful Indonesia” at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. The activity responded to the need for more direct, visual, and participatory cultural communication between Indonesian and Malaysian academic communities. It was implemented on 16 April 2026 at the Audio Visual Studio of Tunku Tun Aminah Library, involving Universitas Riau Kepulauan students as performers and organizers, with support from traditional costume studios and salons in Batam. The method used a participatory service design consisting of preparation, partner coordination, costume selection, runway performance, cultural narration, final parade, documentation, and qualitative reflection. The activity presented traditional attire from Minangkabau, Betawi, South Sulawesi, Sunda, Solo, Papua, and Aceh. The results indicate that fashion show performance can function as an accessible cultural diplomacy medium because it combines visual aesthetics, identity narration, and audience engagement. The activity strengthened Indonesian cultural visibility in an international academic setting and produced recommendations for broader audience involvement, stronger digital promotion, and follow-up cultural workshops.

Abstract

This community service program was conducted at Tanjung Piai National Park, Johor, Malaysia, with the objective of enhancing environmental awareness and promoting community participation in mangrove ecosystem preservation and migratory bird conservation. The program involved students and local community members through educational and participatory approaches, including environmental education, biodiversity observation, mangrove ecosystem exploration, and discussions on the ecological importance of migratory birds along the East Asian–Australasian Flyway. The activities were implemented over three days, encompassing preparation, field implementation, and evaluation stages. The results demonstrated an increase in participants’ knowledge and awareness regarding the ecological functions of mangroves as coastal protectors, biodiversity habitats, and carbon sinks. Participants also gained a better understanding of the significance of Tanjung Piai National Park as a critical stopover habitat for migratory birds. Furthermore, the program encouraged active community involvement in conservation initiatives, including ecosystem monitoring and environmental stewardship. The educational and participatory methods proved effective in fostering positive attitudes and behavioral changes toward environmental conservation. The program also strengthened collaboration among students, local communities, and park management authorities. Continuous support and multi-stakeholder cooperation are recommended to ensure the long-term sustainability of conservation efforts and environmental education initiatives in coastal ecosystems.

Abstract

Professional training for imams and khatibs is a strategic initiative aimed at improving the quality of religious services and the effectiveness of da'wah within educational settings. This initiative is driven by the critical role that imams and khatibs play as central figures in guiding the community, particularly within the Khairul Ummah Madrasah Aliyah (MA). The objective of this training is to enhance participants' competencies in Quranic recitation, understanding of worship jurisprudence (fiqh), da'wah rhetoric, and self-confidence in delivering communicative and inspirational sermons. The training methods include lectures, hands-on practice, sermon simulations, and continuous evaluation. The training participants are selected students with potential in religious fields. The results of this activity demonstrate an improvement in the participants' ability to lead prayers with proper recitation and accuracy, as well as to deliver sermons with a systematic structure, clear language, and messages relevant to the congregation's needs. Thus, the professional imam and khatib training at MA Khairul Ummah makes a positive contribution to shaping a young generation that is competent in religious matters and capable of becoming effective agents of da'wah in the community. It is hoped that this activity will continue and become a flagship program in the development of students' religious character.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance practical baking skills and foster entrepreneurial interest among students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Malikussaleh University. The activity was conducted through a baking training program organized by the Innopreneur Business Lab, involving 25 students as participants. The training consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation stage included the delivery of materials on baking fundamentals, culinary business opportunities, product packaging, pricing strategies, and hands-on practice in producing klapertart and caramel pudding. Evaluation was carried out through direct observation, documentation, and discussions with participants. The results showed that participants actively engaged in the training and successfully completed the production of klapertart and caramel pudding according to the demonstrated procedures. The activity not only improved participants’ practical baking skills but also increased their understanding of entrepreneurial opportunities in the culinary sector. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience provided participants with valuable insights into developing dessert-based business ventures. Therefore, the baking training program proved to be an effective approach for strengthening practical competencies and encouraging entrepreneurial interest among university students.

Abstract

This community service program purpose to enhance the competencies of vocational high school students through training on electronic records management systems to reduce the competency gap between vocational education graduates and the demands of the digital workplace. The target participants were students of the Office Automation and Governance Program at SMK Negeri 7 Medan. A preliminary situation analysis revealed that students faced challenges in understanding electronic records management concepts, had limited experience in managing digital archives, and lacked readiness to utilize modern administrative technologies, including computer-based and cloud-storage systems. The program was implemented through workshops on electronic records management, hands-on practice in digital archive management, application-based document filing simulations, and mentoring and evaluation activities. These methods were designed to provide practical learning experiences that enabled students to apply electronic records management procedures in accordance with modern office administration standards. SMK Negeri 7 Medan supported the program by providing facilities and promoting the sustainability of digital-based learning practices. The expected outcomes included improved student knowledge and practical skills in electronic records management, documentation of activities through photographs and videos, and the publication of a journal article. This program is expected to strengthen students’ digital competencies and improve their readiness to compete in the technology-driven workplace.

Abstract

MSMEs in the area coast play significant role​ in jack up economy local , but Still face a number of problem in management business , especially related with weakness culture organization . Activities devotion to public This aim For strengthen tradition organizations in coastal MSMEs Beach Karimun use repair performance And sustainability business . The method used is a participatory approach through outreach, training, and mentoring for 35 MSMEs. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and questionnaires before and after the intervention. The results of these activities showed an improvement in organizational culture elements, such as work commitment, internal communication, operational discipline, and business innovation. This improvement impacted business performance, as seen through increased turnover, an increase in the number of customers, and product development. In addition, MSMEs also demonstrated a better ability to adapt to changes in the business world, thus supporting business continuity. Thus, strengthening organizational culture through community service programs has proven to be an effective strategy in improving the performance and sustainability of MSMEs in coastal areas .
