Abstract

This community service program aims to boost speaking confidence and mastery of emotion-expression vocabulary among 20 participants aged 9-14 year olds in the Jatinegara Kaum public housing. Using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design, the two-day intervention (on 14–15 June 2025) blended student-centered learning, contextual teaching and learning, and communicative language teaching. Activities included an Inside Out audiovisual prompt, matching games, and role-plays targeting greetings, apologies, asking for opinions, encouragement, and expressing concern. Outcomes comprised a vocabulary/expression pre- and post-test, rubric-based role-play assessments, and a post-program survey. The analyses were descriptive and supplemented by qualitative classroom observations. Participants showed gains in recognizing and using target expressions in simple sentences. The most recalled more than five new lexical items and demonstrated improved lexical accuracy, fluency, and oral participation. Overall, the short communicative intervention appears feasible and promising for strengthening basic speaking readiness and thematic vocabulary in this setting; future studies should use multi-session designs with standardized measures and a comparison group to strengthen causal inference and track retention.

Abstract

The training activity with the theme “Combating Stunting with Nagita (Tuna Nuggets) in Balela Village” was successfully conducted overall. The local PKK women’s group demonstrated great enthusiasm in learning food processing techniques, particularly in creatively transforming tuna fish into nutritious side dishes and snacks. This initiative is highly relevant given that tuna is both rich in nutrients and abundantly available in Balela Village, East Flores Regency. The program began with a presentation by the team on the nutritional content of tuna, followed by a hands-on session where participants practiced processing tuna into nuggets. The activity received positive responses from both participants and village officials, as reflected in the readiness of facilities and infrastructure, as well as the participants’ active involvement throughout all stages of the training. All participants remained engaged until the end of the program, with none leaving the venue prematurely. The outcome of the training, in the form of Tuna Nugget products, was directly consumed together at the activity site, providing not only a pleasant learning experience but also tangible benefits for the community.

Abstract

Bahasa Inggris merupakan salah satu bahasa internasional yang sangat penting dikuasai di era globalisasi, terutama seiring dengan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi dan komunikasi. Namun, motivasi belajar Bahasa Inggris di kalangan anak-anak dan remaja Desa Wailebe masih tergolong rendah, yang dipengaruhi oleh metode pembelajaran konvensional, kesulitan dalam penulisan dan pengucapan, serta keterbatasan dukungan dari lingkungan sekitar. Menyikapi hal tersebut, Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan tujuan menumbuhkan motivasi belajar Bahasa Inggris melalui pendekatan seni dan edukasi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama tiga hari dengan melibatkan peserta didik pada jenjang taman kanak-kanak, sekolah dasar, dan sekolah menengah pertama. Program edukasi terdiri atas Fun English dan English Goes to School, sedangkan program seni berupa pementasan puisi, storytelling, modern dance, serta teater bertema climate change. Selain itu, dilaksanakan pula kegiatan bakti sosial berupa pembersihan lingkungan dan doa bersama masyarakat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya antusiasme dan partisipasi aktif peserta didik, baik dalam pembelajaran interaktif maupun dalam pementasan seni. Masyarakat juga memberikan apresiasi positif terhadap kegiatan ini karena dinilai mampu menumbuhkan semangat belajar generasi muda sekaligus meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya pendidikan.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PkM) aimed to enhance the ability of final-year students of the Faculty of Language, Arts, and Humanities, Hamzanwadi University, in writing scientific articles eligible for publication in nationally accredited journals. The main problems encountered by students included low reading interest, lack of self-confidence, limited mastery of research theory and methodology, and insufficient academic writing skills, which hindered them from transforming their theses into publishable articles. The implementation was designed in three stages. First, the preparation stage involved participant selection, needs assessment, and scheduling. Second, the technical training stage was conducted through workshops and writing clinics, covering article structure, academic language use, abstract and conclusion writing, reference management with Mendeley, and manuscript editing using Grammarly. Participants were also introduced to publication ethics, particularly issues of plagiarism. Third, the intensive mentoring stage provided personal guidance from lecturers and senior student assistants to revise and finalize manuscripts for submission to national journals. The results indicated that intensive mentoring was effective in improving students’ academic writing skills. Students gained a better understanding of article structure, enhanced their ability to use academic language, mastered citation techniques, and developed skills in manuscript editing. Thus, this program not only addressed students’ difficulties in article writing but also produced tangible outputs in the form of publishable articles and a training module that can be utilized sustainably.

Abstract

Masjid Baitul Makmur merupakan salah satu masjid yang berada di wilayah Perumnass I Waena. Seperti diketahui, bahwa masjid merupakan tempat ibadah umat muslim (Islam). Masjid selain sebagai tempat ibadah, juga sebagai organisasi nirlaba atau Non Profit Oriented (NFO) dalam bidang keagamaan yang dibiayai lewat donasi atau sumbangan. Lembaga nirlaba tetap harus memperhatikan aspek keuangan yang berasal dari dana masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, pertanggungjawaban dalam pelaporan keuangan menjadi penting untuk menjelaskan tentang pengelolaan keuangan, sehingga mampu meningkatkan kepercayaan publik terhadap lembaga masjid yang transaparan dan akuntabel. Namun, banyak diantara para pengurus masjid yang belum memiliki pemahaman yang memadai tentang literasi keuangan yang akan berdampak pada pengelolaan dana masjid dan kegiatan sosial yang akan diadakan. Pembuatan laporan keuangan masih menerapkan pola laporan keuangan tradisional. Oleh karena itu, diharapkan dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian peningkatan literasi keuangan dan penyajian laporan keuangan dapat menambah pengetahuan pengurus masjid agar dapat mengelola dana masjid dengan baik, transparan dan akuntabel.

Abstract

Kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) di Kelurahan Sungai Lekop, Kecamatan Bintan Timur, telah dilaksanakan untuk menangani permasalahan limbah ikan yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Limbah berupa kepala, sisik, hingga tulang ikan umumnya dibuang sehingga berpotensi mencemari lingkungan dan mengurangi peluang ekonomi masyarakat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan memperkenalkan pemanfaatan limbah ikan sebagai produk bernilai tambah serta mendorong penerapan usaha ramah lingkungan melalui sosialisasi dan diskusi kelompok dengan masyarakat. Hasil dari observasi lanjutan kepada peserta sosialisasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta mengenai jenis produk olahan limbah ikan, proses pengolahannya, dan manfaat ekonominya. Peserta juga menyatakan ketertarikan untuk mengembangkan limbah ikan menjadi produk bernilai jual. Kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran pelaku usaha terhadap pentingnya pengolahan limbah ikan serta membuka peluang usaha berkelanjutan di bidang perikanan.

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini berfokus pada upaya menjawab tantangan pendidikan yang dihadapi oleh siswa atlet di SMA Negeri 2 Setu Bekasi yang sering kali tidak dapat mengikuti pembelajaran di kelas akibat padatnya jadwal latihan dan kompetisi. Tujuan utama kegiatan ini adalah mengembangkan dan mengimplementasikan sistem pembelajaran digital yang fleksibel, sehingga siswa dapat mengakses materi pelajaran dan menyelesaikan tugas kapan saja dan di mana saja. Pendekatan yang digunakan bersifat partisipatif dengan melibatkan kolaborasi bersama pihak sekolah, termasuk guru, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, dan siswa. Strategi pelaksanaan mencakup identifikasi kebutuhan awal, desain sistem berbasis Moodle sebagai platform manajemen pembelajaran, pelatihan bagi guru dan siswa, serta evaluasi melalui observasi dan umpan balik pengguna. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan peningkatan kemandirian belajar siswa, keterlibatan digital yang lebih tinggi, dan tumbuhnya kesadaran guru akan pentingnya model pembelajaran adaptif. Program ini juga mendorong terbentuknya kelompok belajar digital di kalangan siswa atlet yang saling mendukung dalam proses belajar. Keberhasilan ini menunjukkan potensi replikasi untuk sekolah lain dengan tantangan serupa.

Abstract

The degradation of coral reef ecosystems in Indonesia’s coastal areas, including Balela Village, Larantuka District, East Flores Regency, has become a serious problem affecting the ecological, social, and economic aspects of coastal communities. The lack of community awareness regarding the importance of coral reef conservation and the limited utilization of marine tourism potential further worsen this condition. This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to enhance community awareness, knowledge, and skills in environmental conservation while optimizing the added value of coastal tourism through coral transplantation. The implementation method was designed in three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation, involving lecturers and students of the Larantuka Institute of Teacher Training and Technology together with the Balela community. The activities included educational sessions, interactive discussions, hands-on coral transplantation using hexagonal dome-shaped iron frames, as well as observation and interviews for evaluation. The results showed significant improvements in participants’ knowledge, attitudes, and skills related to marine conservation; the growth of collective awareness to maintain beach cleanliness; and the emergence of marine tourism-based business opportunities with the potential to increase household income. Despite challenges such as limited facilities and unfavorable weather conditions, active community participation and support from local government were key factors in the program’s success. In conclusion, coral transplantation combined with an educational-participatory approach has proven effective not only in restoring marine ecosystems but also in promoting coastal community empowerment towards sustainable economic development.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PkM) was carried out in Tuakepa Village, Titehena District, East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, focusing on training the local women’s group (PKK) in processing banana-based local food products. Tuakepa has abundant banana resources; however, their utilization has been limited to household consumption and sales in raw form at low prices. The objective of this program was to improve the knowledge, skills, and motivation of PKK members in processing bananas into economically valuable products, such as caramel-coated chocolate banana chips. The implementation method included entrepreneurship counseling, hands-on banana processing practice, as well as reflection and group evaluation. The results indicated a positive response, with the active participation of 15 women throughout the training sessions. The products produced had distinctive flavors, were well-received by participants, and demonstrated potential as a family-based business commodity. The program’s impact extended beyond technical skill enhancement to strengthening social bonds, fostering entrepreneurial spirit, and creating opportunities for developing small-scale businesses within the PKK community. In conclusion, local food processing training has provided significant contributions to supporting family economic independence and women’s empowerment in rural areas.

Abstract

Singarajan Village has economic potential through Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs); however, most transactions are still cash-based, making them less efficient and more risky. To support digital economic transformation and financial inclusion, the community service team implemented the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) as an integrated digital payment system. The method applied was a participatory approach through socialization, training, transaction simulations, and assistance with merchant registration for QRIS. The activities involved MSME actors, the village government, and support from Bank Indonesia and BRI as strategic partners. The results showed an increase in MSMEs’ understanding and skills in using QRIS, as evidenced by the growing number of merchants registering their businesses and their willingness to adopt cashless transactions. QRIS has proven to provide benefits such as payment convenience, transaction security, time efficiency, and opportunities to expand into digital markets. The recommendations include continuous mentoring, improved digital literacy, and strengthened network infrastructure to ensure the sustainability of QRIS adoption. Thus, QRIS has the potential to become an entry point for transforming rural economies to be more inclusive, efficient, and competitive.
