Abstract

Character education through reading is an important aspect of developing students' personalities. This research aims to determine the implementation of character reading through the literacy program at SDN Kebonsari 01 Tuban. The descriptive method with observation and documentation examines the learning process and student interactions with the school literacy program. The research results show that implementing reading character education through a literacy program positively influences students' reading interests and character development. In addition, literacy programs can significantly improve students' reading and writing skills. These findings contribute to the development of character education like reading through literacy programs in schools. It is hoped that this research can become a reference for other schools to develop literacy programs to improve students' reading abilities.

Abstract

This research discusses the development of interactive science literacy media (Melisa) based on Construct 2 in class V science subjects at SDN Singopadu. This type of research uses the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. This research aims to develop and measure the effectiveness of interactive scientific literacy media (Melisa) based on Construct 2. The media developed was validated by 2 validators. The results of the Melisa feasibility test research were based on the assessment: 1) The material expert validator obtained a percentage of 87.5% in the "Very Feasible" category. 2) Media expert validators got a percentage of 91.6% in the "Very Eligible" category. Thus, Melisa is declared suitable to be applied to students. The sample for this research was class V at SDN Singopadu, totaling 20 students. Data from student observations obtained a percentage of 80% and teacher observation results of 97% were in the "Very good" category. Data on learning outcomes before implementing the media was 60% and after implementing the media was 86.5%. The results show that student learning outcomes have increased and are in the "Very high" category. In addition, the competency aspect of scientific literacy in the indicator of identifying scientific issues was 93%, reaching the "Very High" classification, the indicator for explaining phenomena was 85%, reaching the "Very High" classification, and the indicator using scientific evidence was 80%, reaching the "Very High" classification. . This shows that scientific literacy media (Melisa) can train students' scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

Pegon script is one of the valuable legacies of the scholars who spread Islam in the archipelago, especially for Nahdlatul Ulama'. However, its existence has decreased until now except in the Salaf Islamic Boarding Schools. On the other hand, MI NU KH. Mukmin as a formal educational institution tries to help preserve Pegon script in schools. This study aims to describe the background, objectives, and elements of Pegon script learning, as well as its influence on formal educational institutions, especially MI NU KH. Mukmin. This study uses a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques use in-depth interviews and literature studies. The results of the study show that Pegon script learning is one of the compulsory subjects at MI NU KH. Mukmin in a local content. There is also a Pegon script learning guidebook, learning evaluation, and supporting learning media like other subjects. In addition, after students have completed learning the Pegon script, learning continues with learning the Safinatun Najah book until grade 6. On the other hand, learning the Pegon script is to equip students, because most of the graduates of MI NU KH. Mukmin Sidoarjo continue their education to Islamic boarding schools. MI NU KH. Mukmin also received appreciation for the 1st Place PWNU East Java Award in 2023 through its superior programs, one of which is learning the Pegon script.

Abstract

This article discusses strategies to foster students' interest in learning through deep learning approach in the context of education, interest in learning is a crucial factor that affects students' motivation and learning outcomes. A deep learning approach that can emphasize in-depth understanding and interconnectedness between concepts and is expected to increase student engagement in the learning process. Through the application of this method, students are invited to actively participate in discussion, collaboration, and creative exploration of the material, so that they feel more connected to what they are learning. This article also presents various techniques and activities that can be applied by educators to implement deep learning strategies in the classroom. By using project-based approaches, case studies and problem-based learning, students are encouraged to think critically and develop analytical skills. The results of implementing this strategy show a significant increase in students' interest in learning which is reflected in active participation and better academic achievement. This research is expected to contribute to the development of more effective and engaging teaching methods in the Education environment.

Abstract

Games Tournament) learning model supported by Wordwall media on the learning outcomes of Grade IV students in the IPAS (Science) subject on the topic of energy. This study is a pre-experimental type with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design, where the researcher compares the pretest results (before treatment) with the posttest results (after treatment). Data were collected through tests using test sheets as the main instrument. Data analysis includes validity testing, reliability testing, normality testing, and hypothesis testing using the paired sample t-test, analyzed using IBM SPSS version 22 software. Based on the normality test, it was found that the data is normally distributed; therefore, the hypothesis test used is the paired sample t-test. Based on the paired sample t-test, a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05 was obtained, meaning that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the TGT learning model supported by Wordwall media is effective in improving the learning outcomes of Grade IV students in the IPAS subject on energy at SDN Bligo Candi Sidoarjo

Abstract

This research aims to improve learning achievement on the material of identifying soil types through a contextual approach for class V students at SDN Magersari Sidoarjo. The method used is the classroom action research method, the research was conducted at SDN Magersari Sidoarjo. The subjects used in this research were class V with a total of 27 students consisting of 16 boys and 11 girls. The results of the research show that from cycle completeness, the pre-action activities obtained a class average score of 64.07 with classical completeness of 62%, increasing in cycle 11 to 72.59 with classical completeness of 70%. The average class score in cycle 2 was 81.85 with classical completeness of 81%. The conclusion of this research is that a contextual approach to the material on identifying class V soil types at SDN Magersari can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is based on the lack of interest of students in science literacy. So that the abilities possessed by students still do not meet the indicators determined by the researcher. Basically, this research aims to analyze the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model on the scientific literacy abilities of fourth-grade students of SDN PEPE Sedati-Sidoarjo. The type of research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design type. The sample of this research is class 4 of SDN PEPE Sedati with details of 60 students, namely class IV B 30 students as the experimental class and class IV A 30 students as the control class. The data analysis technique in this study uses a science literacy test. The results of the study produced an average pretest score of the experimental class of 46.1 and a posttest of 80.5, while the average pretest score of the control class was 60 and a posttest of 66.4. The average N-Gain value in the experimental class was 63% (medium category), while in the control class it was 16% (low category). The t-test showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the CTL model can significantly improve students' scientific literacy skills

Abstract

Based on the results of observations conducted in grade 2 of SDN Sidokare 1 Sidoarjo, there are challenges in the learning process of students, especially when they try to understand the chapter on Pancasila Education related to rules at home and at school. This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of grade 2 students at SDN Sidokare 1 Sidoarjo in the topic of rules in the subject of Pancasila Education by applying the make a match learning model. The method applied is Classroom Action Research in one cycle including the steps of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Participants in this observation were 12 students from grade 2 and 2 friends as observers. The findings of the study show that there is an increase in learning completeness from initially 41.67% in the pre-cycle to 83.33% in cycle I, with the average class score increasing from 68.75 to 80.42. Teacher activity was recorded at 85.29% and student activity at 88.23%, both of which are considered perfect. The conclusion of this study is that the Make A Match learning model is effective in improving students' learning achievement in the chapter on Pancasila Education rules.

Abstract

Natural Science (IPA) learning in elementary schools is required not only to be oriented towards mastering concepts, but also to be able to train students' higher-order cognitive skills. However, science learning practices in elementary schools still tend to be teacher-centered so that they are not optimal in developing higher-order thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model with a scientific approach on higher-order cognitive skills in elementary school students' science subjects. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research type and a pretest–posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of two classes of students at Gelam 1 Elementary School, Sidoarjo, designated as the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class received learning using the Project Based Learning model with a scientific approach, while the control class used a scientific approach without PjBL. The research instrument was a science learning outcome test oriented to higher-order cognitive skills (C4–C6). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests, and t-tests. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class (82.10) was higher than the control class (71.30), with an increase in N-Gain of 0.62 in the experimental class and 0.36 in the control class. The t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which indicated a significant difference between the two groups. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Project Based Learning model with a scientific approach is more effective in training students' high-level cognitive skills in science learning in elementary schools
