Abstract

Islamic microeconomics is now increasingly important to support halal small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia. These halal SMEs not only help the family economy, but also protect religious values and business sustainability. This article explores how Islamic microeconomics can help halal SMEs to survive and grow. With a qualitative approach, data were drawn from interviews and literature studies. As a result, the Islamic microeconomy provides Shariah-compliant funding solutions, education, and a strong business network. This makes halal SMEs survive in an increasingly tight market.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has accelerated media convergence, integrating traditional and digital media into a unified and interconnected communication ecosystem. This phenomenon not only transforms the distribution of information but also reshapes how individuals think, interact, and construct their identities, particularly among Generation Z. This study aims to explore the meaning of media convergence from the perspective of Generation Z students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UIN Sumatera Utara). Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with five informants selected via purposive sampling. The findings reveal that students perceive media convergence as a new normal embedded in their daily lives. Digital media are viewed not merely as tools but as integral spaces for learning, self-expression, and social interaction. Four major themes emerged: efficiency and accessibility of information, digital lifestyle transformation, creative and identity expression, and awareness of ethical digital challenges. The novelty of this study lies in its focus on the subjective experiences of students within a faith-based higher education setting. These findings enrich the discourse on digital literacy and offer strategic implications for educational institutions in cultivating a generation that is adaptive, critical, and ethically responsible in navigating the digital media landscape.

Abstract

This research investigates how regional languages, specifically the Karo language, influence the formation and preservation of Karo Batak ethnic identity in Kutalimbaru Village, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. Data were collected through participatory observation and in-depth interviews with informants from various generations within the Karo community. This data collection method uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The research results show that the Karo language is still used in daily life, especially within families and in traditional activities. However, due to the dominance of the Indonesian language, especially among teenagers, the Karo language is starting to change. Changes in the ethnic identity of the younger generation are indicated by the phenomenon of code-switching between Karo and Indonesian. However, the Karo language is still regarded as a marker of identity and respect for ancestors, and it remains an important symbol in traditional ceremonies and social interactions. External factors such as globalization, formal education, and migration pose significant challenges, while internal factors like the role of parents, religious institutions, and traditional leaders play a crucial role in language preservation. This research emphasizes that the preservation of the Karo language is crucial for maintaining the cultural identity of the Karo Batak amidst the ongoing social and cultural shifts.

Abstract

The Unesa Petanque Field Development Project is an effort to improve sports facilities that support academic and non-academic activities. A pivotal element of this endeavor lies in the fabrication of steel frameworks, which necessitates a tailored approach due to spatial constraints and restricted machinery accessibility. This study aims to assess the implementation of the Box I technique in the assembly of steel frames, emphasizing its adaptability to on-site challenges, procedural execution, and installation integrity. The Box I method was chosen for its capacity to navigate space limitations and access difficulties while ensuring workplace safety. Employing a qualitative methodology, the research gathers insights through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the Box I technique proficiently mitigates site-specific obstacles, optimizes operational efficiency, and guarantees precise and secure installation. Recommendations are made for the formulation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) applicable to similar undertakings.

Abstract

The utilization of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in the world of education opens up new opportunities in creating more adaptive, interactive, and data-driven learning. This study aims to analyze the differences in students pre-test and post-test scores after following English Language learning using IoT-based platforms. The data used was secondary data from the Kaggle platform, which loaded students learning outcome information, including pre-test scores, post-test scores, engagement levels, and device types used. The sample size in this study was 30 students. The approach used was a quantitative approach with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The normality test against the difference in scores was performed using the ShapiroWilk test and showed that the data were not normally distributed (0.0053). Therefore, the analysis proceeded with the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test as a nonparametric test for two paired data. The test results showed there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores , with the median of the post-test score being higher (77) compared to the pre-test (67). Data visualizations in the form of histograms, QQ plots, boxplots, and scatters of individual plots were used to support the analysis results and interpretation. The results of this study show that IoT-based learning contributes to the improvement of students learning outcomes in English Language, so it is recommended as an alternative to technology-based learning strategies.

Abstract

The use of two languages of instruction in bilingual classes, English and Indonesian, in the process of teaching and learning activities is certainly not an easy thing. Teachers must be able to choose the right learning theory and the right and clear learning references, so that the bilingual learning that will be implemented can run well. can run well. In the implementation of bilingual learning, there are special designs, plans, or stages that are mature so that the learning process can take place optimally. The design of bilingual learning can be interpreted from various perspectives, such as discussing various studies and theories regarding the strategy and process of learning development and implementation. The result of this study shown that Bilingual learning involves the use of two languages, usually the mother tongue and English, to enhance cognitive abilities, creativity, problem solving and socio-cultural understanding. Bilingual education requires careful planning, with teachers who are proficient in both languages and schools that provide the necessary resources such as teaching materials and infrastructure. Bilingual learning starts with basic vocabulary and simple conversation. The curriculum focuses on real-world words and phrases, which gradually helps students become fluent in both languages, so they can switch from one to the other with ease. Theoretical frameworks, such as the Global English Club approach, support bilingual education through methods such as group discussions and real-world learning experiences. Bilingual learning methods, including the Transition, Maintenance, Enrichment and Legacy approaches, aim to meet students' needs and curriculum objectives. Activities such as role-playing and group discussions further reinforce language retention and active learning in both academic and real-life contexts. Regular evaluation of student progress is necessary for continuous improvement in teaching and learning outcomes.

Abstract

In the era of globalization, the need for foreign language proficiency especially English is increasingly vital. Bilingual education has become a strategic approach implemented from the elementary school level to prepare the younger generation for global challenges. This article examines the implementation of bilingual Lesson Plans (RPP) using English and Indonesian in elementary education through a literature review approach. The findings show that bilingual learning offers various advantages, including improvements in students' linguistic, cognitive, and social abilities. However, challenges such as limited teacher competence, lack of resources, and students linguistic confusion still hinder effective implementation. This article also presents concrete solutions to address these obstacles and highlights the importance of collaboration among teachers, parents, and schools. Properly developed bilingual lesson plans can create a more effective, contextual, and adaptive learning process aligned with 21st-century needs.
