Abstract

This article conducts a comprehensive study of Tafsir Marah Labid (or Tafsir Munir) compiled by Sheikh Nawawi al-Bantani, a prominent scholar in the Indonesian archipelago in the 19th century. This research aims to fill the gap in comprehensive studies of this tafsir by examining the author's biography, the structure of the book, the characteristics of the tafsir, and the methods of interpretation used. Tafsir Marah Labid was compiled in response to a collective request from scholars and was written in Mecca in 1884 AD. It is widely known both in Indonesia and the Middle East, and to this day remains an important reference source in Islamic boarding schools in the archipelago. The main characteristics of this interpretation include concise and compact delivery, using the ijmali (global) method with an emphasis on integrating the views of classical interpreters without excessive personal speculation, in accordance with Nawawi's caution in avoiding tafsir bi ar-ra'yi. A moderate Sufi approach and Shafi'i fiqh are dominant in this tafsir, with references to classical tafsir books and a strong traditional orientation. This study shows that Marah Labid's Tafsir not only represents the continuity of classical Islamic exegesis, but also adapts to the intellectual and religious context in the archipelago, making it a strategic intellectual heritage in the Indonesian Islamic tradition. This research uses qualitative and descriptive analytical library methods with triangulation of primary and secondary sources, presenting the results in an in-depth narrative and revealing the historical and intellectual implications of the work.

Abstract

The development of guidance and counseling (GC) teachers’ competencies plays a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of school counseling programs. This study examines how competence development including aspects of professionalism, program evaluation, social competence, and service management impacts the successful planning, implementation, and evaluation of GC programs. Using a literature review method, this study analyzes various empirical studies and theoretical perspectives related to GC teacher competencies and the management of counseling services. The results indicate that GC teachers who receive training, supervision, or professional development tend to be more capable of designing counseling programs that align with students’ needs, implementing counseling services more effectively, and conducting systematic evaluation and management of services. Thus, the development of GC teachers’ competencies significantly contributes to the effectiveness of counseling programs in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of digitalization in the zakat payment system at BAZNAS Bandung City and its impact on management efficiency and community engagement. The rationale behind this investigation stems from the necessity for zakat organizations to embrace technological advancements to enhance transparency, accountability, and service accessibility. The methodology used is qualitatively descriptive, involving interviews, observations, and documentation from BAZNAS stakeholders and digital service users. The findings indicate that the deployment of the BAZNAS Digital Office framework and additional digital platforms has facilitated zakat payments, expanded the scope of collection, and improved transparency in distribution processes. Moreover, digitalization has encouraged the involvement of non-civil servant communities in consistent and effective zakat practices. Nevertheless, challenges remain, including limited digital literacy, technical malfunctions, and concerns regarding data security. In summary, the digital transformation of zakat at BAZNAS Bandung City represents a significant step toward contemporary, efficient, and accountable zakat administration. Enhancing human resource capacity and system security is crucial to maintaining public trust. Practically, this study underscores the importance of collaboration between zakat institutions and the technology sector to strengthen the social impact of zakat in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines how muamalah principles are implemented in the daily operations of a sharia hotel in Indonesia. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytic approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature reviews, including DSN-MUI Fatwa No.108/2016. The findings show that the hotel applies sharia-compliant service contracts by strictly verifying marital status, preventing unlawful activities, and ensuring transparency in every transaction. Ethical values such as amanah and ihsan are reflected in the staff’s polite yet firm attitude when communicating rules to guests. However, challenges remain, including limited guest understanding of sharia regulations, insufficient supporting facilities, and occasional security issues. The study concludes that although the hotel has generally upheld muamalah principles, improvements in guest education and sharia-based facilities are still needed for more optimal implementation.

Abstract

Bullying remains a frequent issue in Indonesia, particularly among elementary school students. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of anti-bullying educational and socialization activities carried out by students of the P3K Program at the Indonesia University of Education in an elementary school in Purwakarta. The background of this research is the increasing cases of bullying—both direct and digital—which negatively affect students' social and emotional development. This study employed a descriptive quantitative method involving fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade students as research subjects. Data were collected through the Secret Box during the pre- and post-activity stages, as well as through documentation of educational activities such as poster competitions, educational video screenings, and socialization sessions. The findings indicate an improvement in students’ understanding of the definition, forms, and impacts of bullying, along with the development of empathy, social awareness, and commitment to respectful behavior. Moreover, creative and participatory approaches proved effective in engaging students actively, allowing anti-bullying messages to be more easily understood and internalized. Therefore, the anti-bullying education and socialization program, supported through collaboration among university students, teachers, and pupils, is proven effective in enhancing students’ comprehension while fostering a safer and more inclusive school culture.

Abstract

In today's digital era, conveniences abound. We can conduct all activities online, from studying and playing, shopping, and paying taxes such as property tax (PBB), education fees, and electricity. We no longer need to carry large amounts of cash in our wallets because payments can be made online using financial technology. This study aims to determine the potential for implementing blockchain technology as a preventative measure against personal data leaks in financial technology systems. This study uses a normative juridical research method with a legal and conceptual approach to test the legal certainty of blockchain technology's application in financial technology systems. The results show that blockchain offers a secure and hack-resistant security system due to its decentralized and immutable nature. Therefore, no one can manipulate or destroy transaction data recorded in blocks. However, this immutable and decentralized nature presents challenges in fulfilling the rights of personal data subjects. Collaborative efforts are needed between the government and financial technology service providers to strengthen blockchain technology regulations and infrastructure to create legal certainty and a robust security system that can mitigate the risk of personal data leaks.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has generated both opportunities and serious challenges for university students, particularly concerning moral degradation resulting from inadequate ethical awareness in the use of digital media. Muslim students in the Electrical Engineering Education Program at the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Class of 2024, represent a group that is especially vulnerable to digital moral dilemmas due to their intensive engagement with technology for academic and social activities. This study aims to identify the forms of moral challenges encountered by students, analyze strategies for applying Islamic values in digital technology use, and formulate a model for strengthening digital character based on Islamic ethical principles for engineering students. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach through a survey using a questionnaire containing 20 statements measuring five key dimensions: awareness of digital moral degradation, integration of Islamic values in technology use, positive digital behavior and self-control, religious engagement through digital platforms, and implementation of Islamic digital ethics. The study involved 32 students selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that students exhibit a high level of moral awareness, indicated by their recognition of moral degradation in digital spaces and understanding of its negative impacts. The integration of Islamic values also falls into a high category, reflected in students’ ability to reject negative digital content and their efforts to apply Islamic principles in technological activities. However, the practical implementation of Islamic digital ethics remains inconsistent, particularly in students’ willingness to correct peers who misuse technology and in maintaining consistent exemplary digital conduct. These findings highlight a gap between strong moral awareness and actual ethical behavior. Therefore, a comprehensive character-building strategy is needed, involving Islamic-based digital ethics training, supportive campus policies, and role modeling by lecturers and the academic environment to help students consistently apply Islamic values in their digital activities.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of online almsgiving (sedekah) on the Dompet Dhuafa platform from an Islamic sharia perspective using a qualitative approach with a descriptive method supported by in-depth interviews. The findings show that online almsgiving complies with sharia principles based on the Qur’an, Hadith, and fiqh rules that permit the use of technology as a means of worship. The system operates through an integrated digital platform with transparent mechanisms, oversight by a Sharia Supervisory Board, and independent audits with an unqualified (WTP) opinion. Online almsgiving significantly increases the number of donors due to accessible features, wide outreach, and efficient processes. Challenges include varying levels of digital literacy, technical limitations, and public concerns regarding sharia validity. These are addressed through continuous education, enhanced security, maximum transparency, and hybrid service models. The study concludes that digital transformation in almsgiving demonstrates Islam’s adaptability while upholding sharia values and optimizing the potential of Islamic philanthropy for greater social impact in the digital era.

Abstract

One of the main obstacles to achieving stable legal compliance in Indonesia is social inequality. This study aims to explain how social disparities affect the implementation of law and how injustice shapes the public’s legal perceptions and behaviors. The findings show that law enforcement in Indonesia remains selective: strict toward vulnerable groups but lenient toward influential ones. This conclusion is drawn through a literature study employing a descriptive-analytical approach. Based on the theories of Weber and Foucault, the analysis reveals that law functions not only as a set of rules but also as an instrument of power that enables the reproduction of social inequality. Consequently, the legitimacy of the law weakens, and society begins to adopt an instrumental pattern of compliance. This study emphasizes that law enforcement requires structural reforms, including institutional transparency, improved access to legal aid, and policies that better support vulnerable groups so that the law can operate fairly and efficiently.

Abstract

Advances in digital technology and social media platforms have created new ways of interacting in society, especially among Generation Z, who were born and raised during the digital era. Social media not only functions as a communication tool, but also as a place to build self-image, compete for popularity, and gain social recognition. The emergence of digital hedonism can be seen through a culture of showing off, excessive consumption, and the desire to gain public exposure through viral content. This article explores the importance of Pancasila as a flexible ideology to overcome this phenomenon by linking several real examples, such as teenagers borrowing expensive items for content, young influencers displaying bank balances and cash, competition among digital creators, and prank content that harms others. These examples illustrate a decline in morals and a deviation from Pancasila values, ranging from a spiritual crisis to a loss of empathy in society. This study emphasizes that restoring Pancasila values is essential to shaping the character of Generation Z so that they do not fall into moral decline in the digital age. This recovery can be achieved through character education based on Pancasila, critical digital literacy, the role of the family, government regulations, and the strengthening of public ethical norms. Thus, Pancasila remains relevant as a moral and ideological guide that can overcome the challenges of globalization and instant culture.
