Abstract

This study conducts a thematic exegesis (tafsir maudhū‘ī) of Qur’anic verses related to investment, focusing on four key verses. Surah Al‑Baqarah (2): 261, An‑Nisā’ (4): 9, Luqmān (31): 34, and Al‑Hashr (59): 18. A library-based methodology is employed, integrating thematic interpretation, linguistic analysis, the contexts of revelation (asbāb al‑nuzūl), and inter-verse correlations (munāsabah). Findings reveal that Islamic investment is not solely about wealth accumulation; it emphasises ethical commitment, justice, and social welfare. This Qur’anic framework offers a foundation for Islamic economic models that harmonise financial efficiency with public welfare and balance worldly gains with accountability before the Hereafter. The study’s insights contribute to the development of Sharia-compliant economic policies and investment practices that promote prosperity and social justice.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Muhammad Abduh's thoughts on Islamic educational reform and describe their relevance to the dynamics of contemporary Islamic education in Indonesia. Using a literature review method with descriptive-critical analysis of Abduh's primary works and secondary literature, this study identified four main ideas of reform: Abduh's rejection of blind imitation and his encouragement to develop a culture of critical thinking; criticism of tendentious books that paved the way for strengthening critical literacy and developing more objective teaching materials; reform of educational institutions that emphasized the integration of religious and modern sciences; and revitalization of the Islamic intellectual heritage (turats) through a contextual and interdisciplinary approach to reading. These findings show that Abduh's thinking can provide philosophical and practical direction for the development of madrasah and pesantren curricula, the improvement of teacher competence, and the modernization of learning methods that are more dialogical, rational, and adaptive to the challenges of the 21st century. Thus, this study contributes to explaining how Abduh's reformist ideas can be implemented to strengthen the quality and relevance of Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of understanding the language of love on the resilience of young Muslim Generation Z families. The rising trend of divorce among young people in Indonesia, including among Muslims of all generations, highlights the importance of examining the affective aspects and emotional communication within families. This study employs a mixed-method approach with a sequential exploratory design, beginning with a qualitative study followed by a quantitative phase. The study focuses on Muslim Generation Z couples residing in Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan Province. In the qualitative phase, interviews were conducted with five Muslim Generation Z married couples to explore the dynamics of love languages and marital resilience. These findings served as the basis for developing a quantitative survey instrument, which was distributed to 102 respondents. Quantitative data analysis revealed that the most dominant love languages were Acts of Service (70.6%) and Physical Touch (69.6%). Pearson's correlation indicated a moderate positive relationship between understanding of love languages and the level of family resilience among young Muslim couples (r = 0.56). Respondents who felt understood in their love language tended to have more effective communication, higher emotional bonds, and the ability to resolve conflicts more maturely. The practical implications of these findings are important for educational institutions, religious counselors, and family coaches in nurturing a resilient and harmonious young generation of Muslim families.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the importance of teachers, especially Islamic Religious Education teachers in maintaining their dignity in front of students because a teacher is a role model for them. The research methodology used used a combined method between qualitative and quantitative approaches. The findings of this study include: (1) Teachers are professional educators, not just teaching, but role models for students for academic qualifications at least Bachelor's degree and competencies at least pedagogic, professional, social and personality and for Islamic Religious Education teachers plus leadership and spiritual; (2) Teachers in the era of digitalization and artificial intelligence have an important role that cannot be replaced by anything because only teachers can inspire students; (3) Based on the findings in the field, exemplary teachers are in the total score range of 42.38, so the learners' perceptions of exemplary teachers can be categorized in the high category. This strengthens the assumption that Islamic religious education teachers have a central role in shaping students' behavior, both in the school environment and outside school.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the religious deviation that occurs in several Islamic boarding schools under the auspices of Islamic community organizations (Ormas) in Garut Regency. The focus of the study is directed at the forms of behavioral deviations of students in four Islamic boarding schools affiliated with organizations: Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Muhammadiyah, Persatuan Islam (Persis), and Syarikat Islam (SI). The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that in the four Islamic boarding schools, similar forms of religious deviation were found, which the local community calls "horse loose from gedogan", namely deviant behavior that shows disobedience to the values of the Islamic boarding school. However, each Islamic boarding school has its own strategy in overcoming this deviant behavior. The conclusion of this study shows that religious deviation is influenced by internal factors as well as external factors in the form of a less conducive and uneducational social environment, so that it becomes a challenge in achieving the goals of Islamic boarding school education.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the Jigsaw, Team Games Tournament (TGT), and conventional learning models in improving Islamic Religious Education learning outcomes in third-grade elementary school students. Using a comparative quantitative research design, this study involved three whole classes, each of which implemented one of these learning models. Student learning outcomes were measured using a standardized assessment instrument after the learning process was implemented. The findings showed clear differences between the three models, with the TGT model producing the highest improvement in learning outcomes, followed by the conventional model, while the Jigsaw model showed the lowest results. These findings indicate that the competitive cooperative learning structure in TGT is able to increase engagement and understanding of religious concepts more effectively than the other two models. This study concludes that the TGT model is superior in supporting the achievement of Islamic Religius Education learning outcomes and has broader pedagogical significance because it can strengthen the cognitive, social, moral, and character-building aspects that are at the core of Islamic education. Therefore, the application of innovative and learner-centered learning strategies needs to be expanded to improve the quality of Islamic Religius Education learning at the elementary school level.
The Relationship between Campus Da'wah Institutions (LDK) Activities and Student Religiosity: A Case Study of the Da'wah Corps of the Islamic University of Indonesia (KODISIA) Faiz, Karman; Aldi, Ujang; Darojat; Azizah, Zahra Nur; Khotimah, Imas

Abstract

This study aims to determine the magnitude and direction of the influence of da'wah activities carried out by the Campus Da'wah Institution (LDK) of the Da'wah Corps of the Islamic University of Indonesia (KODISIA) on the level of religiosity of its members. This study uses a quantitative approach with a field research design. The population consisted of 48 active members of LDK KODISIA in 2017, making it a saturated sample (population study). Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression with the help of the SPSS 18.00 program. The results of the simple linear regression analysis showed that da'wah activities did not significantly affect the religiosity of LDK KODISIA students. The correlation value (R) was found to be very low, namely 0.030, with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.001 or 0.1%. This shows that the contribution of campus da'wah activities to student religiosity can be ignored. The remaining 99.9% of student religiosity is influenced by other factors. This finding rejects the alternative hypothesis (Ha) and accepts the null hypothesis (H0), implying that LDK KODISIA activities are not a single significant predictor of the religiosity of its members. The implication is that LDK needs to adopt a more holistic approach, exploring and integrating non-formal factors such as social influence, emotional experiences, and intellectual development (e.g., Thouless factors) into their programs to strengthen and internalize religious values more effectively among students.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the perceptions of lecturers and students at Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKI) regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in learning, as well as to analyze its benefits, obstacles, ethical values, and the level of readiness for implementation. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to lecturers and students at STAIN Teungku Dirundeng Meulaboh. The results show that lecturers' knowledge of AI has a significant relationship with the perceived benefits in learning, identified obstacles, ethical awareness, and implementation readiness. A strong correlation was found between the benefits of AI and user readiness. The study also found a significant relationship between AI use and lecturers' teaching preparedness. However, no significant relationship was found between perceived benefits and perceived obstacles. In general, respondents showed a positive attitude toward the integration of AI in learning, with the caveat that AI usage must be aligned with Islamic values. The main obstacles to AI usage were identified as limited digital infrastructure and low technological literacy, which, while present, have not completely hindered AI adoption in learning. This study emphasizes that institutional readiness and the knowledge of academic stakeholders are key to successful and contextual digital transformation in PTKI environments, particularly at STAIN Teungku Dirundeng Meulaboh.

Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) in the subject of Islamic Religious and Character Education has recently been initiated across various educational institutions in Indonesia. However, empirical studies examining how this policy is enacted at the school level remain limited. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the stages of policy implementation related to the Independent Curriculum in the teaching of Islamic Religious and Character Education. This research employed a qualitative case study design, focusing on an elementary school selected as the research site. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using a thematic analysis approach. The findings indicate that the implementation process has progressed positively, demonstrated by teachers’ ability to develop teaching modules, understand and integrate the Pancasila Student Profile, design P5 project modules, conduct assessments, and initiate differentiated learning. Furthermore, the implementation is carried out through classroom learning and through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), which is conducted once each semester. The study concludes that the adoption of the Independent Curriculum in Islamic Religious and Character Education shows promising improvements in instructional practices. These results suggest the need for continued professional development and institutional support to strengthen effective curriculum implementation in Indonesian schools.
