Abstract

COVID-19 is a disease caused by a variant of SARS-COV2 virus. The symptoms of this disease are fever, cough, malaise, myalgia, short of breath that can happened in 2 – 14 days after infection. The transmission of this disease happened when droplet of a patient is dispersed in the air and the inhaled by other people or by using object that has been contaminated by the COVID-19 patients. The first case of COVID-19 in Indonesia was reported on March 2nd, 2020 and soon after there’s an increase in morbidity and mortality rate regarding this disease. There are some ways that can be done to reduce the transmission of this disease such as wearing mask properly, handwashing, and physical distancing. Advice regarding the health protocol was not only issued by Ministry of Health of Indonesia, but also by World Health Organization. Another way to reduce the transmission of this disease is to isolate the patient and implement the physical distancing between the patient and caregiver.

Abstract

The Community Partnership Empowerment Partner (PKM) was SMP Negeri 2 Kemlagi. The school was located on the outskirts of Mojokerto district and was founded in 2021. The problem faced by partners was the lack of knowledge about Learning Communities, especially about the process of forming and optimizing Learning Communities in schools. The aim of this PKM was to increase knowledge about Learning Communities, especially regarding the formation and optimization of Learning Communities to improve teacher competence, especially regarding character education and school culture. The method used was training in the form of workshops to facilitate the formation of learning communities and their optimization in partner schools to increase teacher competency by sharing knowledge and discussions related to character education and school culture. The results achieved after implementing PKM were that partners know about the importance of learning communities in schools, especially about the process of forming and optimizing learning communities in schools in an effort to improve teacher competency and learning culture in schools, with a participant attendance rate of 100% and a level of understanding of participant knowledge of 76% of the material provided.

Abstract

The villages of Sukasari, Pulosari, Pandeglang, Banten are agricultural areas. Most of the residents of Sukasari Village grow rice in the rice fields, while others are traders, employees and so on. In general, residential areas are located in villages. Most people's houses are permanent, made of brick walls. In general, the village in Sukasari Village at the foot of Mount Karang has a moderate population density (not too dense). The houses in Sukasari Village generally have a yard. The working area of Sukasari Village consists of 3 hamlets, 8 RWs, 26 RTs with a population of 4,239 people. In the work area of Sukasari Village itself, there are only health facilities in the form of 1 midwife practice and 6 posyandu. Pulosari District is one of the sub-districts in Pandeglang Regency. This sub-district has an area of 27.62 km2 and has a population of 28,885 people. Pulosari District consists of 9 (nine) villages, namely Banjarnegara, Kaduhejo, Koranji, Sanghiangdedek, Cilentung, Karyawangi, Sukasari, and Sukaraja. Sukasari Village itself has an area of 4.20 km2. An unbalanced ratio between population and existing health facilities can cause health problems, because if health problems are resolved then the success of an area's development can be said to be successful. Even though we are facing the COVID-19 pandemic, we must not ignore other health problems. Therefore, we will implement a PKM program to check the quality of drinking water for residents in the Sukasari, Pulosari, Pandeglang, Banten Village areas. "We do not yet have the courage to invite residents, even for medical purposes." In connection with this, we need to convey that our PKM officers will only have 2 people to take drinking water samples from sources in RW 04 and 05 (± 20 houses). We will check the quality of the drinking water, and the results can provide input for the health of the population. Drinking water quality checks include levels of Cl, Mn, nitrate, detergent, dissolved solids, pH, organoleptics and coliform bacteria.

Abstract

Antenatal care is a crucial activity that should be done periodically in all pregnant women. The goal of antenatal care is to monitor the growth and development of the fetus and to prepare the women to successfully deliver healthy baby. Monitoring fetal growth is important to detect fetal growth restriction condition promptly and make any intervention needed as soon as possible to avoid further complications. The measurement can be done conventionally by measuring the fundal height.   On the other hand, ultrasound scanning to measure fetal biometry is more accurate to do so. A community serviced activity has been performed to monitor fetal growth at Kelurahan Ciangsana to 24 pregnant women, which showed a quite good result.

Abstract

Compost is the final substance in the fermentation process of piles of waste/plant litter including animal carcasses. The fermentation needs to be accelerated with human assistance. This saprotrophic fungi isolate has the potential to be developed as a compost inoculum in the manufacture of organic fertilizers. Compost induced with fungal inoculum is able to produce organic fertilizer relatively quickly and contains high plant nutrients. The prospect of the need for organic fertilizers is quite high in supporting organic agriculture, so it is necessary to disseminate information on science and technology and training to the public on the manufacture of organic fertilizers by induction of saprotrophic fungi inoculum. In addition, the availability of garden plant litter is abundant and free from chemical residues. The results of this activity showed that there was an increase in the knowledge and understanding of the training participants in making compost from leaf litter. The average increase in the knowledge of the trainees is 25,25 %.

Abstract

The tubers of cassava or cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) are widely known as a staple food that produces carbohydrates and the leaves are a vegetable. Indonesia is the second largest cassava producing country after Nigeria with a five-year average total supply of 9.67 million tons. Processed cassava produces two-thirds of the by-products of its raw materials in the form of tapioca cob, skin, and liquid waste. Tapioca liquid waste can pollute the surrounding environment because it produces an unpleasant odor. Based on these reasons, it is necessary to develop new innovations in their utilization, which so far have not been utilized by the community. This new innovation is to use liquid tapioca waste to make Nata de Cassava which is a high fiber and nutritious food. The aim of the service is to provide knowledge to the women of the “PKK” group in Krawang Sari Village, Natar, South Lampung in making Nata de Cassava from liquid tapioca waste. The result of this service activity is that there is an increase in participants' knowledge about how to use liquid tapioca waste to make Nata de Cassava, which can be seen from the average increase in participants' knowledge of 33.33 points and the percentage increase in knowledge of 61.33%.
