Abstract

In the context of Indonesia's independent curriculum implementation, this qualitative study investigated the connection between teacher self-improvement and student achievement success. Semi-organized interviews were directed with 50 Indonesian educators, and the information was analyzed using a topical examination. The discoveries recommend that instructor self-improvement influences the execution of the autonomous educational plan and understudy accomplishment. Time constraints, lack of resources, and motivation were identified as supporting or hindering teacher self-development. It was discovered that the leadership of a school plays a crucial role in encouraging teacher self-development. The study suggests that educators, school administrators, and educational policymakers should encourage and support teacher self-development to improve school teaching and learning. Both the effects of teacher self-development on other outcomes and the obstacles and facilitators to teacher self-development require additional research.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of excessive gadget use among students in educational settings has become a prominent concern. This article presents a diagnostic review that explores the correlation between excessive gadget use and difficulties encountered by students in acquiring fundamental academic skills. The study compiles data from various research conducted in recent years, revealing that excessive gadget use can impair students' learning abilities in school. Firstly, extensive gadget usage tends to distract students, impeding their ability to concentrate on academic tasks such as class participation and homework completion. Furthermore, excessive gadget use can lead to eye fatigue and disrupt sleep quality, negatively affecting concentration and memory. Secondly, an over-reliance on gadgets reduces the time allocated for physical activities and social interactions, which play a vital role in children's development. Insufficient physical activity can adversely affect students' physical and cognitive health, while a lack of social interaction hinders their communication and collaborative skills with peers. The study emphasizes the urgent need for increased awareness and collective efforts from educators, parents, and the community to address excessive gadget use among students, fostering a healthy and conducive learning environment. Promoting responsible gadget usage is crucial for enhancing the overall quality of education in schools.

Abstract

This paper was conducted to understand the sources of teaching materials for lecturers for the needs of students in English programs at several universities during the pandemic. The authors believe the disruption to teaching occurred resulted from the university's policy of closing campuses but continuing classes remotely. The shift to remote education has challenged lecturers in preparing teaching materials for emergency classes where lecturers have to prepare needed materials for emergency learning. More than 70 respondents took part in interviews and short surveys. The qualitative design, under a phenomenological approach, such as data coding and data interpretation, was done to meet the validity and reliability findings. The results revealed that some lecturers had experience in technology-based learning but needed to be more relaxed in handling teaching materials for poorly prepared distance classes. Few lecturers know that distance learning is more challenging than online learning. The challenge can be seen in the way the lecturers prepare teaching materials which slightly forces the lecturers to look for teaching materials in different ways. The result indicates that lecturers need more experience adapting to distance learning, as evidenced by being a little overwhelmed in obtaining and preparing teaching materials. The results of this study suggest the need for solutions to develop technology-based pedagogical exercises that make it easier for English lecturers and manage learning in difficult times such as a pandemic. Likewise, lecturers need experience responding to emergency teaching, which impacts education continuity at many Aceh universities.

Abstract

The most crucial element for educators to consider when trying to enhance learning is motivation. Many educators have contributed their research on how to increase students' motivation. One of the most crucial goals on a daily basis is it. Students who are conceptualized learn, perform well in job, have a strong desire to get involved and motivated, and succeed in school. This essay discusses the traits of primary pupils, the function of the primary English teacher, and the methods used by teachers to inspire students to learn English. Getting kids motivated can be done in three different ways: extrinsic, intrinsic, and group motivation. It is determined that TPR, using songs, and playing games are effective techniques for kids to develop intrinsic motivation. Achieving extrinsic motivation is divided into "external regulation, interjected regulation, and identified regulation" depending on how powerful or weak it is. The last factor is group motivation, which is highly significant in language teaching that takes place in the classroom. Therefore, it is advisable for English teachers in elementary schools to foster an environment where students feel motivated and engaged.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand how using video animation affects learning outcomes for students in SMPN 2 Pancarijang. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of using video animation on the learning outcomes for IPA students in grade VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Pancarijang. The study uses a quantitative methodology with a true experimental design with a posttest-only control group design. 77 eighth-grade students from SMPN 2 Pancarijang made up the majority of the study's sample, which employed Cluster Random Sampling and included around 26 eighth-grade students. There are two variables in this essay: the use of video animation (variable bebas) and the results Students.data collection technique utilising documentation and tests. Data from the tests that were completed were then analysed using the t-test and the rumus mean. Based on the results of the data analysis, it is estimated that there are 78,4615 for the experimental group and 68,8462 for the control group. The independent sample t-test yielded Sig-2 tailed 0,784 > Sig-2 tailed 0,05.According to the results of the study, it can be concluded that the hypothesis (H1) that states that the use of video animation has a negative impact on the results of the study on students of Junior high School 2 Pancarijang "accepted" is true.

Abstract

This research aims to; (1) knowing the opportunities for implementing independent campuses in 3T areas; and (2) knowing the challenges of implementing independent campuses in 3T areas. This research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data source used in this research is a library source. Researchers collected library sources to find out the opportunities and challenges of independent campuses in the 3T area. The data analysis technique used in this research is SWOT analysis. The results of this research show that; (1) Mapping opportunities for implementing MBKM on Teaching campuses in 3T areas shows opportunities for students to hone their skills before entering the world of work and opportunities for students to be able to develop and improve the quality of partner schools; and (2) the paradigm that occurs in practice shows that the implementation of the MBKM policy encounters various challenges, namely school facilities and infrastructure that do not meet standards such as difficulty in internet access and road access to schools in 3T areas, limited teacher competency, and students who take part in campus teaching programs.
