Abstract

This study examines changes in marriage customs in Kotadaro 1 Village, Rantau Panjang District, Ogan Ilir Regency, between 2010 and 2024. This article examines changes in marriage customs in Kotadaro 1 Village, where many traditions have been abandoned by the local population over time, including marriage. The main objective of this study is to describe the changes in the marriage process in Kotadaro 1 Village and to explain the various meanings of the traditions contained within them as part of the endangered local wisdom. This study uses a historical method, commonly referred to as the historical method. The purpose of this historical research is to gain in-depth understanding of the events being studied, involving interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The methods used in historical research include a heuristic approach, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study demonstrate that changes in marriage customs have occurred in Kotadaro 1 Village. This change is due to increasingly modern developments. As a result, the traditional values contained within are threatened with extinction.

Abstract

Generasi muda menempati posisi strategis dalam menjaga keberlanjutan demokrasi Indonesia, sekaligus menjadi kelompok yang paling dekat dengan perubahan sosial, budaya, dan politik di era globalisasi. Pancasila sebagai dasar negara menyediakan landasan normatif bagi praktik demokrasi, namun dalam penerapannya menghadapi tantangan seperti rendahnya literasi politik, pengaruh media digital, serta kecenderungan apatisme di kalangan generasi muda. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau keterkaitan antara Pancasila, demokrasi Indonesia, dan psikologi politik generasi muda melalui kajian literatur. Metode yang digunakan adalah tinjauan literatur dengan model hybrid sistematik-naratif, yang memadukan prosedur pencarian artikel secara sistematis dengan analisis tematik. Artikel diperoleh dari basis data akademik seperti Google Scholar dan ResearchGate, dengan kriteria inklusi publikasi ilmiah terbit tahun 20222025. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa generasi muda memiliki potensi besar untuk memperkuat praktik demokrasi berbasis Pancasila melalui partisipasi politik, penguatan etika berdemokrasi, dan peran aktif dalam ruang digital. Namun, hambatan seperti disinformasi, dominasi politik identitas, dan lemahnya internalisasi nilai Pancasila masih membatasi kontribusi tersebut. Kajian ini menegaskan bahwa keberhasilan demokrasi Indonesia bergantung pada sejauh mana nilai-nilai Pancasila dapat diinternalisasi dalam psikologi politik generasi muda, sehingga mereka mampu berperan sebagai agen perubahan yang kritis, partisipatif, dan berorientasi pada keadilan sosial.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas permasalahan hukum mengenai harta jaminan milik pihak ketiga yang dijadikan harta pailit serta implikasinya terhadap perlindungan hukum bagi kreditor separatis. Ketidakjelasan norma dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 37 Tahun 2004 tentang Kepailitan dan Penundaan Kewajiban Pembayaran Utang menimbulkan ketidakharmonisan antara hukum kepailitan dan hukum jaminan kebendaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode yuridis normatif dengan pendekatan perundang-undangan dan konseptual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlindungan hukum bagi kreditor separatis belum terlaksana secara efektif akibat kekosongan norma dan ketidakkonsistenan penerapan hukum. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pembaruan norma yang menegaskan status hukum harta jaminan milik pihak ketiga untuk menjamin kepastian dan keadilan hukum bagi seluruh pihak.

Abstract

The movie Garis Pilihan tells about the journey of Mila, a girl from Sidoarjo who migrates to continue her education at Surabaya State University. Erving Goffman's dramaturgy theory and Wilhelm Wundt's structuralism theory are used to examine Mila's character dualism in the movie Garis Pilihan and real life. The purpose of this research is to see how Mila controls her emotions in the movie and real life. The research of this article uses a descriptive qualitative approach, by collecting data through observation, interviews, and literature review. The closest relatives of Mila's character served as Research informants. The findings show that although Mila is more emotional and expressive when facing various situations in the backstage, she always appears tough and strong on the frontstage. The social roles and emotional frameworks that influence Mila's character can be better understood thanks to this research. In the context of performance and everyday life, this research also presents a new perspective on the relationship between emotional control and social pressure.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the meaning of the Qasidah Muhammadiyah by Imam AlBusyiri through Michael Riffaterres semiotic approach. A qualitative descriptive method with heuristic and hermeneutic reading techniques was employed to identify the matrix, model, and variant meanings within the poem. The findings reveal that this poem contains complex literal and symbolic meanings portraying Prophet Muhammad as a figure of glory, virtue, and spiritual enlightenment for humanity. Utilizing Riffaterres theory, the study successfully unveils hidden layers of meaning and symbolic structures underpinning the religious and aesthetic values of the poem. The implications of this research enrich religious literary studies and offer a methodological alternative for analyzing Islamic literary works.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh layanan bimbingan kelompok dengan penerapan teknik assertive training terhadap peningkatan perilaku asertif siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian Quasi Experiment melalui desain Pretest-Posttest Control Group. Subjek penelitian melibatkan 16 siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Portibi yang dipilih berdasarkan hasil pengukuran rendahnya tingkat perilaku asertif. Peserta kemudian dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen berjumlah 8 siswa dan kelompok kontrol berjumlah 8 siswa, dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa skala perilaku asertif. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji non-parametrik Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test melalui bantuan program SPSS versi 27. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan nilai asymp.sig (2-tailed) sebesar 0,012, yang lebih kecil dari taraf signifikansi 0,05 (0,012 0,05). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa layanan bimbingan kelompok melalui teknik assertive training efektif digunakan sebagai strategi intervensi untuk meningkatkan perilaku asertif siswa.

Abstract

Paradox of the United States soft diplomacy through the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) as a tool of cultural diplomacy amid increasingly restrictive immigration policies. While the U.S. promotes openness, multiculturalism, and international collaboration through programs such as Fulbright and the Community College Initiative, its stringent immigration policiesparticularly since the Trump era and beyond the pandemiccontradict the nations image as a defender of freedom and inclusivity. Using a qualitative, literature-based approach and critical discourse analysis, this research explores how soft diplomacy operates as a foreign policy strategy to sustain American cultural hegemony in Indonesia. The findings indicate that, despite restrictive immigration measures, AMINEF remains effective in fostering cultural diplomacy and enhancing the U.S. image in Indonesia. This paradox underscores Americas attempt to balance domestic priorities (security and nationalism) with global ambitions (cultural and political influence).

Abstract

Donald Trump, The President of the United States, stated that his country would not defend any NATO members that do not spend 2% of their Gross Domestic Product to defense spending. His statement has raised concerns about the credibility of the collective defense mechanism outlined in Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, signed in 1949. This article examines whether Trumps statement as a head of state would constitute an internationally wrongful act under the articles on the responsibility of states for internationally wrongful acts. Using juridical normative method, it analyses treaty text, legal doctrine, and state practice. The study found that Article 5 of the NATO Treaty is flexible and allows each member to decide how to respond to an attack against other members. Thus, Trumps statement alone cannot be classified as a breach of international law unless it is accompanied by specific acts of refusal of support towards NATO Members.

Abstract

This research examines the impact of the Small Group Discussion (SGD) technique on improving the speaking skills of the eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Sigi, with particular emphasis on vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency. Employing a quasi-experimental design, the study compared an experimental group taught using SGD with a control group receiving conventional instruction. Both groups completed pre-tests and post-tests to assess their progress. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, Mann-Whitney U Test, and descriptive statistics. Results showed that the experimental group experienced a significant improvement in all targeted speaking sub-skills, with average scores increasing from 15.14 to 21.14, while the control group showed only a slight improvement from 15.49 to 16.07. Statistical analysis confirmed a highly significant difference (p 0.05) between the two groups, demonstrating the greater effectiveness of SGD compared to the conventional method in enhancing speaking skills. The study concludes that SGD fosters active engagement and self-confidence, providing a positive and supportive environment for language learning. These findings offer practical insights for English language teaching, endorsing SGD as an effective strategy to boost students' communicative competence.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the socio-cultural views of Marapokot Village, Aesesa District, Nagekeo Regency regarding belis and to determine the differences between belis for women who are pregnant outside marriage and women who are proposed to before marriage. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method, primary data sources are: traditional leaders, community leaders and the person concerned, and secondary data sources are: books, journals, and articles. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and finally drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the socio-cultural views of the Marapokot community regarding belis are considered as social identity and construction, a symbol of honor and family ties, maintaining the tradition and cultural identity of belis, and as a form of responsibility for men to protect women and children. In addition, there are differences in belis for women who are pregnant out of wedlock and women who are proposed to before marriage.
