Abstract

This study aims to examine how gender control operates within the phenomenon of overachievement among students at Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Overachievement is understood as a response to social expectations that demand students to excel academically, engage in organizational activities, and build a strong personal brand. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, this research explores the lived experiences of two students of different genders, Fatimah and Sufyan, to understand how gendered social expectations and surveillance influence the way they navigate overachievement. The findings reveal that female students tend to experience greater social pressure and must manage their performance and self-image in line with dominant gender norms. In contrast, male students are afforded more freedom to succeed without the same image constraints. These findings are analyzed using feminist theory, particularly the concepts of gender performativity and symbolic control, which show that gender-based power relations continue to shape student experiences in the urban academic sphere.

Abstract

Self-confidence is one of the important aspects in supporting children’s success in the learning process. However, in practice, many students still experience decreased self-confidence, especially when asked to express opinions or answer questions in class. This study aims to examine the relationship between effective communication between teachers and students and children’s self-confidence levels in teaching and learning activities. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through observation and interviews with teachers and elementary school students. The results of the study indicate that the lack of open two-way communication, minimal appreciation, and communication patterns that tend to suppress or reprimand directly cause children to feel emotionally insecure. This has an impact on children’s courage to be active in learning. These findings emphasize that effective and empathetic communication from teachers is essential to creating a learning environment that supports the development of children’s self-confidence

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media on self-perception and identity formation of adolescents through the literature review method. A total of 30 national and international scientific journals published in the period 2015–2025 were systematically analyzed to identify patterns, findings, and conclusions related to the phenomenon. The results of the study indicate that social media plays a major role in shaping adolescents’ self-perception through the process of social comparison, seeking external validation, and the need to conform to aesthetic standards and social norms formed in the digital space. In addition, social media is a place for exploring self-identity, but it can also trigger identity confusion due to social pressure and unrealistic expectations. These findings emphasize that intensive use of social media has the potential to have positive or negative impacts depending on the level of digital literacy and support from the adolescent’s social environment. This study recommends the importance of media education and the active role of parents and educational institutions in guiding adolescents to manage their self-identity in a healthy way in the digital era.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in the economic field. One of them is the emergence of new transaction models in the world of economics, such as e-commerce, cryptocurrencies and other digital assets. This journal aims to analyze the digital economy from the perspective of Islamic economic law with a focus on the legality of e-commerce transactions and ownership of digital assets. By using a normative approach and literature study, this journal tries to highlight critically-contextually the importance of strengthening Islamic (economic) principles in the digital ecosystem with the aim that transactions carried out based on the digital economic platform do not conflict with Islamic values (teachings) manifested in the concept of Islamic economics. The results of this study indicate that digital economic transactions can be permitted in Islam as long as the working system meets the pillars and conditions of the contract in Islamic economics and is free from elements of usury, gharar and maisir.

Abstract

Parenting style, defined as the combination of strategies parents use to raise their children, is a crucial factor in shaping a child’s emotional and psychological development. In animated films, parenting styles are often portrayed through character interactions, offering insight into how familial relationships influence identity. this study explores the impact of parenting style on Ember Lumen’s character in Elemental: Forces of Nature (2023), directed by Peter Sohn. Using Baumrind’s parenting theory along with Maccoby and Martin’s framework, the research applies a psychological literary approach to analyze Bernie Lumen’s parenting. The findings reveal that Bernie primarily demonstrates authoritative parenting, characterized by high expectations and emotional support, which contributes to Ember’s growth in responsibility, emotional regulation, and self-awareness. However, occasional authoritarian and permissive tendencies also emerge, creating internal conflict for Ember as she struggles between fulfilling her father’s expectations and pursuing her own dreams. This study highlights how parenting styles in film narratives can reflect real-life dynamics, influencing a character’s identity formation and emotional journey.

Abstract

The use of technology in public services continues to evolve to enhance the efficiency and quality of e-government, particularly in population administration services. The Department of Population and Civil Registration (Dispendukcapil) of Kediri Regency introduced the Sahaja Online application as an innovation to digitalize administrative services. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of population administration services through the Sahaja Online application using a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The focus of the study refers to the theory of online service quality effectiveness by Sá et al. (2017), which includes management quality, service quality, information quality, and technical quality. Data collection techniques involved interviews, observation, documentation, and literature review. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the Sahaja Online application is fairly effective in facilitating population administration services. The application demonstrates management in accordance with SOPs, reliable and secure services, clear and up-to-date information, and technical features that ease user access. However, several challenges remain, such as limited human resources, daily service quotas, device accessibility issues, and uneven dissemination of information. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a cross-platform application, enhance the capacity of service personnel, and optimize information dissemination through the involvement of local governments and community leaders.

Abstract

Social media has become the main space for digital interaction used by billions of people around the world. Behind its benefits in accelerating communication and dissemination of information, there are serious threats to the security of users’ personal data. Data leaks on social media have become an increasingly frequent phenomenon and have negative impacts, such as identity theft, online fraud, and privacy violations. This study aims to analyze common patterns of data leaks that appear on various social media platforms and to develop preventive strategies that can be applied to minimize these risks. Through a qualitative approach with literature studies and case analysis, it was found that data leaks are often caused by a combination of weak platform security systems, low user awareness of the importance of privacy, and data collection and processing practices by third parties without transparency. This study suggests several mitigation strategies, including increasing digital literacy for users, improving more accountable privacy policies, implementing advanced security technologies such as encryption and double authentication, and strengthening data protection regulations by authorized authorities. Thus, the results of this study are expected to provide a real contribution in creating a safer, more transparent, and more responsible digital ecosystem for all stakeholders, including users, platform developers, and the government.

Abstract

Islamic education is an integral process that aims to form a perfect human being who is balanced in spiritual, intellectual, and social aspects. In this context, family and environment play a vital role as a foundation and reinforcement in the formation of children's character and morals. This paper examines in depth the synergistic role between the family as the first madrasah and the environment as the main supporter in Islamic education. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, this paper highlights how families provide education through role models, habits, and supervision, while environments such as schools, communities, and social media help strengthen Islamic values through social and cultural interactions. A case study of a student named Anita shows the success of Islamic education that is harmonious between the roles of parents and the surrounding community. The results of the discussion emphasize that the success of Islamic education cannot be separated from the collaboration between the micro (family) and macro (community and school) environments. Thus, the synergy of the two is the key to forming a generation of Muslims who have noble morals and are resilient in facing the challenges of the times.

Abstract

Zakat produktif adalah pemberian zakat yang membuat orang yang menerima (mustahik) mampu menghasilkan sesuatu secara konsisten dengan harta zakat yang diterimanya. Dana zakat yang diberikan tidak dihabiskan untuk hal-hal konsumtif, akan tetapi dikembangkan untuk membuka usaha yang mampu memenuhi kebutuhan hidup. Penelitian ini berfungsi untuk mengetahui permasalahan pengelolaan zakat produktif Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS) Enrekang dan dampak dari pengelolaan zakat yang dikelolah oleh BAZNAS Enrekang dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi mustahik. Skripsi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analisis teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu  yaitu menganalisis data yang ada, dikumpulkan, selanjutnya dipilah- pilah dan dianalisa. Proses pengelolaan zakat dianalisis melalui aspek perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, pengarahan, dan pengawasan guna memastikan efektivitas penghimpunan serta pendistribusian dana zakat. Penyaluran zakat produktif oleh BAZNAS terbukti memberikan dampak yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan mustahik. Sebelumnya, banyak mustahik yang hanya menerima bantuan konsumtif tanpa adanya keberlanjutan ekonomi. Namun, melalui program ini, mereka mendapatkan modal usaha, pelatihan, serta pendampingan sehingga mampu menjalankan usaha sendiri

Abstract

Academic procrastination is a common issue that negatively affects students’ performance and mental well-being, thus requiring an effective intervention approach. This article aims to examine the application of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) as a counseling method to address academic procrastination and other psychosocial problems in school settings. This research adopts a qualitative method using a literature review. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that SFBT is effective in enhancing students’ self-esteem, self-efficacy, and emotional regulation while significantly reducing academic procrastination. These results support constructivist and positive psychology theories in educational contexts. This study offers practical implications for school counselors in designing solution-focused interventions. Further research is recommended to empirically test SFBT’s effectiveness through field studies.
