Abstract

Polysemy, the phenomenon where a single word carries multiple related meanings, is a fundamental aspect of semantics that plays a crucial role in language interpretation. In song lyrics, polysemy allows for layered meanings, enriching the emotional depth and artistic expression of music. This study examines the presence of polysemy in Ed Sheeran’s album Divide, analysing how words with multiple meanings contribute to the lyrical depth of his songs. The album features numerous instances of logical polysemy, where words retain different but interconnected meanings, enhancing the storytelling and emotional impact of the lyrics. By analysing various songs from Divide, this study aims to highlight Sheeran’s use of polysemy as a stylistic and poetic device. Recognizing polysemy in music not only aids in accurate interpretation but also deepens the emotional connection between the artist and the audience.

Abstract

The transformation of the Indonesian press has reached a critical point with the development of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI). This article explores the dynamics of print media digitalization, AI implementation in journalism, and collaborative efforts to preserve digital footprints as cultural heritage. Based on a review of literature and data analysis, the article finds that digitalization expands media reach but presents sustainability challenges. Meanwhile, AI supports news production efficiency but raises ethical issues. Recommendations include digital preservation strategies and cross-sector collaboration to maintain information integrity.

Abstract

This study discusses the concept of gender equality in Islam through an analysis of feminism and maudhui’ interpretation of the verses of the Qur’an. This study focuses on how Islamic feminism interprets verses related to gender, such as Q.S. An-Nisa 3, 11, 12, and 34 which discuss justice in marriage, inheritance, and household leadership. In addition, Q.S. Ali ‘Imran 195 and Al-Qiyamah 37-39 emphasize that human creation is equal without gender hierarchy. Modern interpretations from figures such as Amina Wadud and KH. Husain Muhammad emphasize the need for a contextual approach and reinterpretation of verses that are often understood patriarchally. This study aims to provide an alternative perspective on gender relations in Islam and open up space for a more inclusive understanding in accordance with the values of justice.

Abstract

Makalah ini menganalisis sepuluh puisi terpilih dari Al-Khansa dan Hassan ibn Thabit, dua penyair paling berpengaruh dalam era Khilafah Rasyidah, melalui pendekatan budaya. Analisis ini menyoroti bagaimana puisi berfungsi sebagai medium ekspresi budaya, terutama dalam konteks kehormatan kesukuan, kesedihan atas kematian, dan transisi menuju identitas Islam. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kultural, studi ini menyelidiki bagaimana kedua penyair mencerminkan transformasi masyarakat dari norma-norma pra-Islam menuju nilai-nilai spiritual Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Al-Khansa melalui ratapan duka dan Hassan ibn Thabit melalui pujian-pujian religius memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk budaya sastra Islam awal.

Abstract

Self-disclosure is a crucial aspect in students’ social and emotional development, because it is related to an individual’s ability to express thoughts, feelings, and personal information to others. This study aims to examine the contribution of parenting styles and emotional attachment to students’ self-disclosure. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected from various relevant scientific sources, such as journals, academic books, and scientific articles that discuss the relationship between the main variables. The results of the study indicate that authoritative parenting styles play a positive role in forming open communication and secure attachment, which in turn encourages increased self-disclosure. Conversely, authoritarian and permissive parenting styles tend to create insecure attachments and inhibit self-disclosure. Attachment has been shown to be an important mediator in the relationship between parenting styles and self-disclosure. These findings emphasize the importance of healthy parenting patterns and secure emotional attachments as a foundation for the development of students’ self-disclosure. The implications of this study are relevant to guidance and counseling practices in schools as well as education for parents in supporting children’s psychosocial health.

Abstract

Guidance and counseling are vital components in education aimed at supporting holistic individual development. This article discusses the role of the philosophy of science as a philosophical foundation in the development of guidance and counseling theories and practices. The philosophy of science provides epistemological, ontological, and axiological frameworks that help in understanding the nature of knowledge, human reality, and ethical values underlying guidance and counseling services. With this understanding, guidance and counseling practices can be designed more holistically and effectively, addressing not only technical issues but also humanistic and professional aspects. This study employs a literature review method to analyze the contribution of the philosophy of science within the context of guidance and counseling, thereby supporting the development of meaningful and impactful services for individuals and society.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki kekayaan budaya yang sangat beragam, dimana tradisi merupakan bagian penting dalam membentuk identitas. Salah satu tradisi yang dijalankan turun-temurun adalah Tradisi Toyang Roeng, yang merupakan upacara yang terkait dengan pasangan pengantin dan penghormatan terhadap leluhur. Namun, tradisi ini sering dikaitkan dengan keyakinan bahwa meninggalkannya dapat menyebabkan musibah, yang menimbulkan pertentangan jika dilihat dari perspektif syariat Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap tokoh adat, pemuka agama, dan masyarakat pelaku tradisi, serta observasi langsung terhadap pelaksanaan ritual Toyang Roeng. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji Tradisi Toyang Roeng dalam kerangka hukum Islam, khususnya melihat hubungan antara pelestarian budaya dan prinsip syariat Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Islam mengakui keberadaan dan pentingnya pelestarian budaya selama tradisi tersebut tidak bertentangan dengan akidah dan nilai-nilai Islam. Nazar yang menjadi dasar pelestarian Tradisi Toyang Roeng harus dievaluasi menurut hukum Islam, karena hanya nazar yang bermuatan ibadah yang wajib ditunaikan. Selain itu, pelaksanaan tradisi sebaiknya difokuskan sebagai sarana memperkuat tali persaudaraan, syukuran, dan penghormatan terhadap nilai leluhur, bukan sebagai kewajiban untuk menghindari musibah atau kesialan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa dengan pelurusan niat dan edukasi yang tepat, Tradisi Toyang Roeng dapat dilestarikan secara harmonis dengan tuntunan syariat Islam. Pendekatan metodologis kualitatif melalui wawancara dan observasi ini berhasil mengungkap bagaimana kearifan lokal dapat beradaptasi dengan prinsip-prinsip agama, sehingga menjaga keseimbangan antara nilai budaya dan keimanan.

Abstract

Critical thinking is an essential skill for students in dealing with a digital age filled with information that is not necessarily accurate. This article examined how the Pancasila Student Profile Reinforcing (P5) contributes to improved high school students' critical thinking ability through project-based learning, particularly in the face of intolerance in the educational environment. Using library study methods, the study highlights the relationship between critical thinking, global literacy, and student charactering efforts according to pancasila values. The results suggest that a P5 based approach can foster tolerance attitudes and increase student social awareness in understanding the various perspectives in society. This article recommends implementing a more integrational learning strategy to support critical understanding and strengthen national value in Indonesian education.

Abstract

In the midst of globalization and media developments, advertising not only functions as a promotional tool, but also as a means of conveying culture. This study aims to analyze the meaning of local culture in Sari Roti advertisements using Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach and cultural propaganda theory. The study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method, analyzing cultural elements such as traditional symbols, language, and social interactions in advertisements. The results of the analysis show that Sari Roti advertisements not only display local values, but also build narratives that strengthen Indonesian cultural identity. This advertisement becomes a medium that conveys ideology symbolically and fosters a sense of nationalism through local products.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan proses pembelajaran yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengaktualisasikan potensi peserta didik. Pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran yang dihasilkan dari interaksi antara peserta didik, pendidik, dan lingkungan belajar dapat diukur melalui asesmen yang memberikan informasi mengenai kinerja peserta didik. Pengembangan instrumen merupakan metode sistematis yang digunakan untuk merancang, membuat, dan mengevaluasi alat dalam pembelajaran, termasuk penilaian hasil belajar. Artikel ini membahas pengembangan instrumen penilaian hasil belajar dengan menjelaskan pengertian, jenis, serta langkah-langkah sistematis dalam menyusun instrumen tes maupun non-tes. Instrumen tes meliputi tes formatif, sumatif, diagnostik, dan penempatan, dengan bentuk subjektif dan objektif seperti pilihan ganda, benar-salah, menjodohkan, dan isian. Penilaian non-tes menggunakan teknik seperti observasi, angket, dan wawancara yang umum digunakan untuk menilai aspek afektif dan perilaku peserta didik. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penerapan proses pengembangan instrumen secara sistematis, mulai dari penetapan tujuan, analisis kurikulum, penyusunan kisi-kisi, penulisan butir soal, validasi ahli, hingga uji coba empiric, secara signifikan meningkatkan validitas, reliabilitas, dan kepraktisan instrumen. Kesimpulannya, pengembangan instrumen penilaian hasil belajar melalui tahapan yang terstruktur dapat menghasilkan pengukuran yang lebih akurat, objektif, dan menyeluruh terhadap capaian peserta didik, sehingga mendukung perencanaan dan pengambilan keputusan pendidikan yang lebih baik
