Abstract

Research with the aim of analyzing the representation of the use of SAR robots after the earthquake disaster in Japan in the anime Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 has been conducted. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with Peirce's semiotic analysis method. The results show that there are seven scenes in the anime Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 that contain two types of robots, namely Resukyū Robō and Semi-autonomous Robot. Specifically, three of the seven scenes depict the direct representation of the use of SAR robots after the earthquake disaster in Japan as search and rescue robots for evacuating victims. Meanwhile, the other four scenes are supporting scenes that also discuss SAR robots. Further analysis shows that Resukyū Robō is used as a rescue robot, while Semi-autonomous Robot is used more as a search robot. Although they have different functions, these two types of robots support each other in the evacuation of victims after a disaster.

Abstract

The Green Initiative conducted in Tumbang Habaon Village, Tewah District, Gunung Mas Regency, Central Kalimantan, aimed to improve environmental awareness and strengthen community capacity in the cultivation and sustainable management of potential plant species. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program involved socialization activities, technical training, and the collaborative planting of 2,000 trees, including guava, petai, and jengkol. Community members received guidance on proper planting techniques, land preparation, and plant maintenance. The activity successfully increased community understanding of environmental conservation from 40% to 80%. The planted trees showed an 85% survival rate within the first six months, supported by routine mentoring. The program also generated early economic benefits for 50 households through the introduction of productive tree species and contributed to reducing flood risks and improving local biodiversity. Challenges faced during implementation—such as limited availability of quality seedlings and initial community reluctance—were addressed through cooperation with local government stakeholders. Overall, the Green Initiative serves as a practical community service model that promotes environmental sustainability, community participation, and local empowerment, with potential for replication in other rural villages facing similar environmental issues.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges faced by the Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) of Medan City in building community participation in disaster management. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, this research explores experiences and social interactions through in-depth interviews with BPBD staff from various divisions. The findings indicate that although BPBD has systematically implemented disaster management through three phases (pre-disaster, emergency response, and post-disaster), the level of community participation remains low and reactive. The main challenges include weak inter-agency coordination, limited literacy and collective awareness regarding disaster risks, constraints in human resources and funding, and ineffective communication methods used in disaster socialization. Based on community participation and social awareness theories, community participation patterns remain top-down and limited to the implementation stage, not yet encompassing planning and evaluation. This study recommends strengthening education based on local wisdom, developing two-way communication systems, enhancing cross-sector coordination, and implementing community-based disaster management approaches to realize independent and adaptive disaster-resilient communities.

Abstract

Islam has a comprehensive epistemology as the primary foundation for acquiring knowledge. In general, epistemology in Islam exhibits three strong tendencies: bayani, irfani, and burhani. These three forms of reasoning originate from the thoughts of Muhammad Abid al-Jabiri, a contemporary Moroccan philosopher known for his efforts to develop a philosophy that combines rationality, authority, and intuition. According to al-Jabiri, these three forms of reasoning serve not only as tools for acquiring knowledge but also as a way to understand the relationship between humans and God, nature, and themselves. Bayani epistemology emphasizes the study of texts (nas), ijma, and ijtihad as basic references for justifying certain beliefs. This study summarizes the concept that burhani epistemology emphasizes the innate human potential in terms of intuition, senses, experimentation, and conceptualization, expressed as "al-hiss, al-tajribah wa muhakamah 'aqliyah." Bayani reasoning, which focuses on authoritative texts, is used to understand revelation and religious teachings, while irfani reasoning explores deeper dimensions of knowledge through inner experience and mystical intuition. By combining these three types of reasoning, a complete Islamic science will emerge that is able to solve contemporary social problems in the development of Islam. This study was conducted with a qualitative approach using text analysis methods that aim to explore the concepts proposed by al-Jabiri in his work and relate them to epistemological theories that have been introduced in the Islamic philosophical tradition. From the specific analysis, it was found that al-Jabiri considered these three forms of reasoning to be complementary, not contradictory, in an effort to achieve a more comprehensive and holistic understanding of reality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation and implications of character education based on School Religious Culture at SMAN 1 Bangsal Mojokerto. The moral degradation of adolescents marked by increasing deviant behavior demands character education that not only teaches knowledge but also shapes morals through exemplary behavior and habituation of noble values. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques were conducted through non-participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Data validity was tested using method triangulation. The results show that the implementation of character education based on School Religious Culture at SMAN 1 Bangsal includes: (1) Structured and sustainable implementation of religious culture, (2) Integration of religious values in school life, (3) Habituation of character values from the beginning, (4) Active role of religious organizations (UKKI), and (5) Inclusive attitudes and tolerance towards non-Muslim students. The identified implications are: (1) Formation of disciplinary character, (2) Strengthening of religious character, (3) Development of responsibility character, (4) Growth of leadership character, and (5) Formation of tolerance character. This research confirms that the School Religious Culture approach is effective in shaping students' character holistically and can be replicated in other schools with similar characteristics.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between power, resources, and power balance in negotiation from a humanistic perspective, which views negotiation as an interpersonal interaction process that upholds dignity, fairness, and relational ethics. Power in negotiation emerges from the strategic use of resources such as information, time, alternatives (BATNA), and formal position, which dynamically interact to shape a negotiator’s capacity to influence. Power imbalances affect communication, decision-making, strategies employed, and the psychological conditions of the parties involved. Dominant parties tend to control the negotiation process, while weaker parties often experience emotional pressure and strategic limitations, increasing the risk of domination and exploitation. Negotiation outcomes typically favor the stronger side, yet such outcomes may threaten the sustainability of long-term relationships. Mitigation strategies include strengthening BATNA, managing information, using objective standards, and building coalitions. This study highlights that negotiation effectiveness and relationship sustainability depend on the ethical and humane application of power.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the fundamental differences between transaction mechanisms in the conventional stock market and the sharia-compliant stock market, as well as to examine the application of sharia principles—such as the prohibitions of riba, gharar, and maysir—in sharia stock trading. In addition, this research evaluates the effectiveness of regulations and supervisory systems in enforcing sharia principles within the Indonesian capital market. The method used is library research by reviewing various sources including scientific journals, books, and official documents from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI). The findings show that the sharia stock market has stricter and more transparent mechanisms compared to the conventional market because all instruments and commitments must undergo a sharia screening process to ensure compliance with Islamic principles. The prohibitions of riba, gharar, and maysir are enforced through the avoidance of interest-based transactions, speculative activities, and excessive uncertainty. Regulations issued by OJK and DSN-MUI have played a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the sharia market, although stronger supervisory systems and improved investor literacy are still needed. Overall, Indonesia’s sharia stock market demonstrates significant potential as an ethical investment alternative grounded in transparency and economic sustainability.

Abstract

Terrorism is a form of international crime that poses a serious threat to global security and peace, which can have an impact that violates fundamental human rights. Terrorism is characterized by its transnational, organized nature and cross-border networks, which necessitates a well-coordinated international legal response at both the national and international levels. This study aims to determine and analyze how the principles of international criminal law are applied in combating terrorism and to identify the challenges of harmonizing national law with international law in combating transnational terrorism. The research method used is normative juridical. The results of the study show that the application of international criminal law principles, including universal jurisdiction and the role of the International Criminal Court (ICC), is important in ensuring that perpetrators of terrorism do not escape legal responsibility. However, in harmonizing national law with international law, there are still differences in the definition of terrorism, legal systems, and state sovereignty.
