Abstract

Conflicts and violence in the name of religion in Indonesia continue to increase from year to year. One of the issues that often disrupts harmonious relations between religious communities is the issue related to the establishment of houses of worship. This problem arises because there is a thin line between the right to worship and the right to establish a house of worship. Some religious groups may view the right to establish a house of worship as the same as an inviolable personal right. In fact, the matter of establishing a house of worship is actually a collective social realm. Establishing a house of worship in an inappropriate location or environment can result in discomfort or disturbance from other parties. Prolonged discomfort can lead to hatred and hostility. This study focuses more on the results of the continuation of the problem regarding the establishment or repair of a Christian house of worship at the HKBP Lau Dendang Church In Lau Dendang Village. The results of the study show that the HKBP Laut Dendang Church plays an active role in community life. The church not only functions as a place of worship, but also as a center for social, educational, and cultural activities for the congregation and the surrounding community. There are obstacles in understanding and communication between the congregation and the church, which can lead to misunderstandings, conflicts, and imbalances in church life. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve communication, understanding, and congregation participation so that the church can function well and provide the best services.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management strategy of Village-Owned Enterprises (Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes)) in an effort to sustain business in Ombulodata Village, Kwandang District, North Gorontalo Regency. The focus of the study includes organizational strategies, programs, resources, and institutions, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors in Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) management. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Research informants involve Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) managers, village governments, and the community. The results of the study indicate that Ombulodata Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) faces major challenges such as limited human resource quality, minimal community participation, bad debts, and dependence on the village budget. The management strategies implemented include local potential-based program planning, increasing human resource capacity through training, and optimizing natural resources such as agriculture and MSMEs. The main supporting factor is the commitment of the village government in allocating funds and regulations, while inhibiting factors include limited capital, lack of private sector support, and suboptimal internal coordination. The conclusion of the study emphasizes the importance of strengthening institutions, transparency of management, and synergy with external parties to ensure the sustainability of Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes). The implications of this research can be a reference for village governments in formulating more inclusive and sustainable Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) development policies.

Abstract

This journal aims to analyze the various types of collateral rights regulated in civil law and Islamic law, by highlighting the differences and similarities in the underlying principles. From a civil law perspective, collateral rights function as a means of protection for creditors in order to obtain debt payments from debtors. These types of collateral rights include mortgages, pawns, and fiduciaries, each of which has different characteristics and implementation procedures. Meanwhile, in Islamic law, the concept of collateral rights is regulated based on sharia principles that prioritize justice and avoid usury. Types of collateral in Islamic law such as rahn (pawn) and hawalah (transfer of obligations) have different characteristics compared to civil law. The research method used is a qualitative approach. Data were collected through a literature review, which includes books, articles, and relevant laws and regulations, and analyzed by comparing civil law provisions with Islamic law principles related to collateral rights.

Abstract

This study shows that people in Hamdan Village have diverse social responses in dealing with floods. For old residents, floods are not a big problem because they have become part of their daily lives, while newcomers tend to be more psychologically affected. Although floods often occur, people still try to anticipate their impacts, such as building houses with high foundations and helping each other when disasters occur. Floods actually strengthen social relations in the community through cooperation in evacuation, early warning, and post-flood mutual cooperation. Economically, people in Hamdan Village generally have low-skilled jobs, such as factory workers, small traders, or laundry workers. Floods disrupt several livelihoods, especially for those who work from home or depend on the conditions of the surrounding environment. However, government assistance and social organizations help maintain the economic stability of the community during floods. People’s decisions to remain in flood-prone areas are influenced by various factors, including emotional attachment to their family’s inherited residence, strong social ties with the surrounding environment, and economic limitations that make it difficult for them to move to a safer place. In addition, the strategic location of Hamdan Village is also the main reason they remain, especially because of easy access to the workplace and relatively affordable living costs.

In Islam, bullying has been experienced by the prophet Yusuf a.s who was abused by his brother and then thrown into a well. However, along with the development of technology, bullying is also carried out through social media or what is commonly known as Cyberbullying. This action is also bullying but is carried out with the help of technology such as social media with the aim of hurting someone’s feelings through an online message. So cyberbullying is an indirect violence aimed at damaging someone’s mentality to future conditions. This research was conducted using the literature study method. Abstract

Academic vocabulary is essential for students to engage effectively in academic discourse. This study analyzes the extent of academic vocabulary usage among students based on Coxhead’s (2000) Academic Word List (AWL). Using a corpus-based approach, the study examines a dataset comprising 902,618 tokens to determine the coverage of AWL words in student writing. The findings reveal that students used 559 out of the 570 AWL words, demonstrating a high level of academic vocabulary coverage. To further investigate the factors influencing academic vocabulary usage, interviews were conducted with students categorized into high and low proficiency groups. High-level academic vocabulary users demonstrated stronger engagement with academic texts, benefited from structured educational support, and employed active learning strategies. Conversely, low-level users exhibited limited exposure to academic texts, lacked explicit vocabulary instruction, and relied on passive learning approaches. These findings highlight the importance of targeted pedagogical interventions to enhance students’ academic vocabulary acquisition and application.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of bilingual learning at the elementary school level in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a literature study method. Data were collected from various relevant sources, such as scientific journals, articles, and books, then analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that bilingual learning is implemented through the main stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. Case studies from various elementary schools show that the implementation of bilingual programs varies, depending on the conditions and characteristics of the institution and students. This program has been proven to be able to improve students' foreign language skills, such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, while supporting the achievement of educational goals in the era of globalization. However, its implementation is not free from obstacles, such as limited facilities, differences in language abilities between students, and lack of teacher training. Therefore, a deep understanding of implementation strategies and practices is essential so that bilingual learning can be implemented effectively and sustainably in the context of elementary education in Indonesia.
