Abstract

This study is grounded in the recognition that guidance and counseling (BK) play a pivotal role in addressing students’ learning problems, which can significantly affect both academic achievement and personal development. The integration of Islamic educational values into counseling services is seen as a promising approach to holistically resolve such issues, especially in contexts where moral, spiritual, and ethical guidance is essential. The primary objective of this research is to explore and optimize the effectiveness of guidance and counseling when integrated with Islamic education principles in overcoming students’ learning problems. Employing a library research method, this study systematically collects, reviews, and synthesizes scholarly literature, including books, journal articles, and empirical reports, to build a comprehensive understanding of the relevant theories and practices. The findings indicate that the incorporation of Islamic values—such as patience, honesty, discipline, sincerity, and responsibility—not only increases students’ motivation and engagement but also strengthens character and psychological resilience. Moreover, integrated counseling practices have been shown to improve student attendance, classroom behavior, and homework completion rates, as evidenced by case studies in Islamic schools. In conclusion, this research contributes to the field by highlighting the value of a holistic, spiritually-grounded counseling model that supports both academic and moral growth. The study’s practical implications include the need for ongoing counselor training, collaboration among stakeholders, and systematic evaluation. Future research is recommended to examine the long-term effects of this integrative approach and adapt it for diverse educational settings.

Abstract

Vocational education plays a crucial role in preparing a skilled workforce for Industry 4.0, which demands technical expertise, critical thinking, and adaptability. Industry-Based Learning (IBL) models, successfully implemented in countries like Germany and Australia, integrate real-world industrial experiences into curricula. However, developing nations, including Indonesia, face challenges such as curriculum-industry misalignment, limited infrastructure, and insufficient industry engagement. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA framework to analyze 26 high-quality articles (2020–2024) on IBL innovations globally. Findings reveal effective models such as non-placement Work-Integrated Learning (WIL), digital competency frameworks, and challenge-based learning, which emphasize industry collaboration and practical skill development. For Indonesia, adapting these approaches—through virtual teaching factories, VR/AR-enhanced training, and dual VET systems—can address geographical and resource constraints. Key recommendations include flexible WIL implementation, digital upskilling for teachers, industry incentives, and policy reforms to align vocational education with labor market needs. The study highlights the need for contextual adaptation of global best practices to enhance Indonesia’s vocational system.

Abstract

Psychological well-being enables adolescents to feel happy, have a sense of purpose, and manage emotional and social pressures effectively. However, many adolescents face stress due to academic demands, social expectations, and emotional disturbances, disrupting their psychological balance. Existing interventions often lack a holistic approach and fail to effectively integrate psychological, emotional, and spiritual aspects to enhance psychological well-being. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of transpersonal counseling as an intervention to improve adolescents' psychological well-being. The method employed was a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test, involving 20 adolescents aged 15-18 years selected through purposive sampling. The results indicated that the average psychological well-being score significantly increased from 62.5 in the pre-test (low category) to 81.7 in the post-test (higher category). Statistical analysis using a related sample t-test yielded a t-value of 5.32 with a p-value < 0.05, signifying a significant difference before and after the intervention. These findings suggest that transpersonal counseling can be an effective approach to improving adolescents' psychological well-being through a holistic integration of psychological, emotional, and spiritual dimensions.

Abstract

The persistent difficulty students face in understanding the human respiratory system—a core yet abstract topic in science education—is rooted in the lack of contextual, visual, and interactive learning media, as highlighted by both national and international research. This study aimed to examine whether technology-based, visual respiratory system media can significantly enhance elementary students’ cognitive learning outcomes, particularly in higher-order thinking skills such as analysis and evaluation. Employing a quantitative, quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, the study involved 34 fifth-grade students at SDN Inpres Rasa 1, Kabupaten Bima, using purposive sampling. A 20-item multiple-choice test based on the revised Bloom’s taxonomy (C1–C4) was used to measure learning outcomes before and after intervention. Descriptive statistics showed a marked improvement: the mean pretest score was 62.8, rising to 73.3 in the posttest, with gains observed across all ability levels. Inferential analysis using a paired sample t-test confirmed the significance of this improvement (t = -15.2, df = 33, p < .001), demonstrating that interactive visual media have a strong positive effect on students’ conceptual understanding of the respiratory system. The results conclude that technology-based visual media not only promote retention and comprehension but also foster analytical and evaluative skills, aligning with current science education goals. This research provides empirically-tested, practical recommendations for educators and policymakers, supporting the integration of digital media in science curricula and teacher training. Future studies are recommended to expand this approach with control groups, longitudinal designs, and investigations into affective and psychomotor domains, as well as the use of emerging technologies like augmented reality and virtual reality to further enhance science learning outcomes.

Abstract

Sustainable education transformation requires evidence-based and contextually relevant planning strategies. This study explores the integration of data-based planning with SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis to improve the strategic planning process in educational institutions. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review method, this research examines secondary data obtained from accredited national journals, reputable international journals, and academic books published between 2013 and 2023. The study highlights that the use of valid and measurable data—such as national assessments, satisfaction surveys, and institutional performance indicators—significantly enhances the accuracy of SWOT analysis. This integrative approach enables the formulation of more accurate, reflective, and results-oriented educational strategies. However, the implementation of this model still faces several challenges, including low levels of data literacy among educators, limited access to integrated information systems, and the lack of structured training in strategic planning at the school level. This study contributes to the body of knowledge in education management by offering a conceptual framework that combines data-driven decision-making with SWOT analysis. The implications underline the need to strengthen institutional capacity and promote policy support for data-based planning to ensure adaptive and sustainable improvements in education quality.

Abstract

Memorizing the Qur'an is a core tradition in Islamic education, promoting spiritual growth and the preservation of divine revelation. However, traditional rote memorization methods often overlook individual learning styles and emotional barriers, leading to challenges in long-term retention and comprehension. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Quantum Makky method combined with individual counseling in enhancing the memorization and understanding of Qur'anic verses, specifically Surah An-Naba (verses 4, 5, and 6) at Rumah Tahfiz Mafaza 3. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key patterns. The findings revealed that Quantum Makky gestures significantly improved memory retention by creating strong cognitive links between physical movements and textual meanings. For instance, using a single finger to denote certainty in verse 4 (كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ) and spreading hands to symbolize the earth's vastness in verse 6 (أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ مِهَادًا) effectively reinforced the memorization process. Additionally, individual counseling addressed psychological barriers, enhancing self-confidence, learning motivation, and emotional resilience. This approach resulted in notable improvements in four areas: memory retention, comprehension, learning motivation, and public recitation confidence. The study highlights the value of integrating multisensory learning with personalized support, providing a practical framework for enhancing cognitive retention and emotional resilience in Qur'anic education. Future research should explore the scalability of this approach and consider integrating digital tools for broader application.

Abstract

Verbal bullying is a pervasive issue in educational settings, characterized by insults, harsh language, and derogatory comments that can have severe psychological and emotional impacts on students. This study aimed to develop a culturally relevant intervention model that integrates the values of the Petik Laut tradition with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to reduce verbal bullying at MTS Al Haromain, Mojosari, Puger. The research utilized a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model, which included the identification of bullying prevalence, module development, expert validation, and pilot testing with 53 students (Sa et al., 2020). The findings revealed that the Petik Laut tradition, emphasizing mutual respect, community solidarity, and environmental stewardship, significantly reduced verbal bullying and enhanced students' social resilience, fostering positive behavioral changes. This study contributes to the field of educational psychology by demonstrating the effectiveness of integrating local cultural values into structured educational interventions, offering a novel approach to bullying prevention that aligns with both cultural sustainability and contemporary educational goals. The results underscore the importance of culturally responsive education and highlight the potential for broader application in diverse educational contexts. Future research should explore the long-term impacts of this approach on student outcomes, including academic achievement, social well-being, and community engagement.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of science and technology has demanded innovation in education, particularly in learning approaches that foster student motivation and engagement. This study aims to investigate the influence of mathematical literacy skills and the use of audiovisual media on student learning motivation at Al-Madina Nabire Middle School. Employing a quantitative method with multiple linear regression analysis, data were collected from 28 eighth-grade students through questionnaires measured on a Likert scale. Classical assumption tests confirmed that the data met requirements for normality, multicollinearity, autocorrelation, and homoscedasticity. The results revealed that mathematical literacy skills did not significantly affect learning motivation, whereas the use of audiovisual media had a significant and positive impact. Simultaneously, both variables accounted for 92% of the variance in learning motivation, with audiovisual media being the dominant factor. These findings suggest that integrating audiovisual media in mathematics education can effectively boost student motivation, offering a more engaging alternative to conventional literacy-focused instruction. This research contributes empirical evidence for educators and policymakers on the benefits of innovative media in learning design, particularly in diverse and challenging school contexts. Future studies are recommended to expand sample size, explore additional variables such as teacher competence or school environment, and apply qualitative methods for deeper insights into the learning process.

Abstract

Breast milk is the optimal source of nutrition for infants, but exclusive breastfeeding rates in Indonesia and globally remain below target, largely due to maternal anxiety, insufficient milk production, and inadequate support systems. Innovative, integrative interventions that address both physiological and psychological barriers are urgently needed to support successful lactation outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Stimulasi Pijat Endorphin, Oksitosin, dan Sugestif (SPEOS) method—an integrative technique combining oxytocin massage, endorphin massage, and positive suggestion—in increasing breast milk production among postpartum mothers at PMB Fatimah Bandungrejosari, Malang. A quasi-experimental posttest-only control group design was implemented, involving 36 postpartum mothers (days 1–40) who were divided equally into intervention and control groups. The intervention group received the SPEOS method (20-minute sessions for nine consecutive days), while the control group received only standard informational leaflets. Data on breast milk production were collected using validated observation sheets and baby scales, and analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods, including the Mann-Whitney test. The findings revealed that 66.7% of mothers in the SPEOS group achieved high breast milk production, compared to just 16.7% in the control group. Statistical analysis confirmed a significant difference between groups (p = 0.002). The SPEOS intervention demonstrated not only physiological benefits, through hormonal stimulation, but also psychological benefits, by improving maternal confidence and emotional well-being. The SPEOS method is an effective, holistic, and easily adopted intervention for enhancing breast milk production in postpartum mothers. Its integrative approach, targeting both hormonal and psychological pathways, makes it suitable for inclusion in maternal health education and practice. This research supports the integration of the SPEOS method into midwifery education and practice as a low-cost, evidence-based strategy to promote exclusive breastfeeding, maternal empowerment, and optimal infant health. The study provides a foundation for further research and broader implementation in diverse healthcare settings. Larger-scale and longer-term studies are recommended to confirm these findings, explore additional maternal and infant health outcomes, and refine SPEOS implementation protocols for various populations.
