Abstract

Learning a language means learning culture. Language and culture are two things that cannot be separated. Culture contains many components, including regional folklore. Folklore needs to be known not only by local communities but also at national and international levels. As an institution that produces professional output, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Pattimura University needs to contribute to future development. One of the activities that can be carried out is by providing assistance in making videos of the Batu Badaong folklore in German. This activity involved 4 foreign students, namely from Khong Kaen University, Thailand and 7 students from the German language education study program at Pattimura University, Ambon. The methods used in this activity are varied, namely lectures, discussions and simulations. Abstract

The implementation of Information and Communication Tecnologies (ITC) or better known as information and communication technology (ICT) in learning in primary schools is becoming increasingly important along with the rapid development of science and technology The geographical condition of Dobo, which is a 3T area (frontier, outermost, underdeveloped), adds complexity to the implementation of ICT in primary schools. Limited infrastructure and accessibility are major barriers to the implementation of this technology. However, with the rapid advancement of technology, it is important for schools in 3T areas to keep trying to integrate ICT in the learning process. This is in line with research findings showing that the use of ICT can assist in the development of learning media, guidance services, language learning, and online library services. The purpose of this community service activity (PkM) is to implement Information Communication and Tecnologies (ITC) or ICT in learning at SD Inpres Rabiajala, so as to improve the quality of education in 3T areas. With the training and socialisation to teachers, it is expected to create a learning environment that supports the effective use of ICT.

Abstract

Language is not always oriented towards a regular structure. However, the quality of writing is greatly influenced by correct grammar because readers are helped to understand the right words, while avoiding misinterpretation. For this reason, a junior high school student who is surrounded by a number of writing assignments needs to have mechanical skills that are inseparable from knowledge and understanding of word classes. As a universal language element, word classes are owned by all languages, but the number and characteristics are different for each language. Sometimes junior high school students are often faced with foreign language structures so that the Indonesian language structure displayed in writing is often random and wrong. In order for this habit to be minimized, Reinforcement of Indonesian Language Material Through Identification of Word Classes for Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 3 Ambon needs to be carried out. This PKM activity took place in presentation, discussion, and evaluation sessions. The results provide an overview that the common use of certain word classes in writing activities is often contrary to linguistic rules. To facilitate identification, a number of markers are presented as practical steps.

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to improve students' vocabulary mastery and speaking skills in learning the German language through the use of digital image media. Vocabulary is a crucial aspect of language acquisition, as it supports both receptive and productive language skills. The activity was conducted online at SMA Negeri 1 Seram Bagian Barat, involving a German language teacher and 30 students. Various teaching methods were applied, including lectures, Q&A sessions, pair work, and group work. The implementation stages included selecting relevant digital image media, introducing vocabulary, speaking practice using Redemittel (useful phrases), group dialogue creation, presentations, and evaluation through quizzes. The use of digital image media proved effective in increasing student interest in learning, enhancing comprehension, expanding vocabulary mastery, and developing German speaking skills. Furthermore, this activity served as guidance for teachers to adopt digital media in their teaching practices independently in the future. By integrating technology creatively and effectively, German language learning becomes more engaging and enjoyable, thereby motivating students to learn actively and continuously.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to transfer knowledge related to essential soft skills required in the profession of Kundenberater (customer consultant) to students of the German Language Education Study Program. The initiative is driven by the growing need to equip students not only with academic knowledge but also with non-technical competencies that support their readiness for the workforce, particularly in intercultural communication and customer service. The methods applied include interactive dialogue, group discussions, and Q&A sessions, which encourage active participation and critical reflection among the participants. Through this approach, students gain not only theoretical insights but also the ability to connect this knowledge to real-life situations they may encounter in the field. The outcomes of the activity show an increased understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a Kundenberater, along with the communication skills required in such a role. Moreover, the activity enhances students’ confidence in engaging in professional interactions. The conclusion of this program emphasizes that knowledge transfer through dialogue and discussion is effective in fostering awareness and foundational soft skills relevant to the job market, particularly within the context of German language education.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve students’ competence in German grammar and vocabulary at the A2.2 level through the implementation of Rollenkarten (role cards). This learning method is designed to create a more interactive, contextual, and engaging learning environment, enabling students to apply grammar and vocabulary functionally in real-life situations. The activity applied a descriptive qualitative approach involving planning, implementation, data collection, and analysis. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and questionnaires administered before and after the learning sessions. The results show that the use of Rollenkarten increased students’ interest, motivation, and active participation. Furthermore, the method encouraged collaboration, improved students' confidence in speaking, and enhanced their understanding of the material. In conclusion, Rollenkarten is an effective learning strategy for improving students’ German grammar and vocabulary skills, although its success depends on careful planning and the teacher’s ability to manage the classroom effectively.
