Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of competence, motivation, and work discipline on employee performance at the Class I Port Administration Office (UPP) in Tobelo. The research is based on operational issues linked to inadequate discipline, suboptimal training and competency development, and low work motivation among staff. A quantitative approach with an associative design was employed. The study involved all 55 employees as the total sample. Data were collected using a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire that had passed validity and reliability tests. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25.0. The findings indicate that competence, motivation, and work discipline collectively have a significant impact on employee performance, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.911. This suggests that 91.1% of the variation in performance is explained by the three variables. Partially, competence shows the strongest influence (β = 0.751), followed by motivation (β = 0.604). Interestingly, work discipline exerts a significant negative effect on performance (β = -0.314). These results highlight the importance of enhancing employee competence and motivation as key strategies for improving organizational performance. While discipline remains relevant, it should be implemented through consistent and measurable policies. The study recommends that human resource management in port offices prioritize career-based motivation strategies and continuous competence development to ensure sustained performance improvement.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence technology, particularly Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), presents new opportunities for innovative learning methods in vocational Education. This study aims to utilise Generative AI in creating a green work environment simulation as a learning medium for Work-Integrated Learning (WIL), with a focus on environmental and eco-friendly industries. This simulation is designed to provide an in-depth and interactive learning experience while strengthening students' competence in applying sustainability principles and green work practices in the industrial world. The research method employed is an experiment involving the development of a Generative AI-based simulation prototype that integrates elements of a green work environment, including waste management, energy efficiency, and the utilisation of renewable resources. The research participants were vocational program students who participated in Work-Integrated Learning (WIL). The evaluation was conducted by measuring the increase in understanding of the concept of green industry and the practical skills acquired through simulation. The study's results showed that the use of Generative AI-based simulation significantly increased students' learning motivation, theoretical understanding, and practical skills compared to conventional learning methods. In addition, this simulation also facilitates the development of soft skills, such as decision-making and problem-solving, in the context of green work. Thus, the use of Generative AI in green work environment simulations makes a positive contribution to improving the quality of environmentally friendly industry-based Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Programs in vocational Education institutions. This study offers recommendations for vocational Education institutions to adopt AI technology, supporting adaptive, innovative, and sustainable learning processes that produce a competent and environmentally conscious workforce.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of digital transformation, MSME innovation, and government policies on the sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in West Java, with Human Resource (HR) capacity as a moderating variable. Using a quantitative approach with a causal design, this study tests hypotheses through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of SmartPLS software. The research population consists of active MSMEs in West Java Province, with a minimum sample of 99 respondents selected using stratified purposive sampling. The results show that digital transformation has a positive and significant effect on MSME sustainability. MSME innovation also shows a very strong and dominant positive effect on business sustainability. In addition, government policies also contribute positively and significantly to the sustainability of MSMEs, although the impact is relatively weaker. However, an important finding is that human resource capacity does not significantly moderate the relationship between digital transformation, innovation, and government policies on the sustainability of MSMEs. This is likely due to the low digital literacy of MSME human resources or because the innovations carried out are still simple and do not require high human resource skills.

Abstract

Climate change has become one of the greatest challenges of this century, affecting global economic stability as well as business performance and growth. Green investments are needed to mitigate these negative impacts, integrating sustainability into business operations which in turn can benefit companies in the long term. Green finance is key to ensuring sustainable business growth and effective handling of environmental issues. This research aims to examine how environmentally friendly finance can support sustainable growth and its impact on the global economy. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, relying on data from previous studies that are relevant to the topic. Data processing through thematic analysis aims to identify patterns and gain in-depth insight into the implementation and impact of environmentally friendly finance. The research results show that the implementation of environmentally friendly finance is essential for long-term economic stability and growth. Sustainability-oriented investments improve a company's reputation, attract investors, and support financial stability. However, there are significant challenges in its implementation related to internal resistance and regulatory barriers. Effective strategies involve cooperation between governments and international institutions to create supportive incentives and frameworks. Education and training for players in the financial sector are also critical to increasing understanding and skills in environmentally friendly financial applications.
