Abstract

Indonesia is highly vulnerable to tsunami disasters due to its location at the convergence of three major active tectonic plates. One of the most effective strategies for disaster risk reduction is improving public awareness and preparedness from an early age through school-based education. This community service program aimed to enhance tsunami disaster awareness and preparedness among students of SMKN 10 Konawe Selatan. The program was conducted through three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Educational activities were delivered through lectures, video presentations, interactive discussions, and tsunami disaster response simulations. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated using pre-test and post-test instruments to measure students’ knowledge improvement. The results showed a significant increase in students’ understanding of tsunami concepts, causes, early warning signs, self-rescue procedures, and evacuation measures. The disaster response simulation provided students with practical experience in implementing proper evacuation procedures. In addition, students demonstrated high enthusiasm and active participation throughout the program. The findings indicate that disaster education combined with simulation-based learning is an effective approach to improving tsunami awareness and preparedness among students. Continuous implementation of similar programs is recommended to strengthen disaster preparedness culture and reduce future disaster risks and impacts.

Abstract

Digital marketing transformation is an important strategy for enhancing the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in rural areas that still face limitations in digital literacy. Bongo Village, located in Batudaa Pantai District, Gorontalo Regency, possesses significant local economic potential through its traditional culinary products and local handicrafts; however, the utilization of digital technology for marketing purposes remains suboptimal. This activity aims to describe the implementation of digital marketing transformation assistance for MSMEs based on local potential through the Merdeka Campus Competition Program (PKKM) Internship Program in Bongo Village. The study employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach consisting of planning, action, observation, analysis, and reflection stages. The program involved 15 Accounting students who acted as facilitators in conducting observations, identifying problems, providing digital marketing assistance, and evaluating the program. The results indicate that the assistance program successfully improved MSME actors’ understanding of the importance of utilizing digital media as a promotional tool, strengthened awareness of local product branding, and increased business actors’ motivation to adopt digital-based marketing strategies. Nevertheless, limited digital literacy and technical capabilities among community members remain significant challenges to achieving optimal digital transformation. Therefore, continuous assistance through collaboration among higher education institutions, village governments, and local communities is necessary to support the sustainable strengthening of MSMEs’ digital capacities

Abstract

QM Photo Studio still conducts its service booking process manually, which leads to several issues such as scheduling recording errors, delayed confirmations, and limited access to information regarding service availability. These conditions result in suboptimal operational efficiency and reduced service quality provided to customers. Therefore, this community service program aims to develop a web-based online booking system to improve efficiency, accuracy, and integration in photography service management. The system development was carried out using a multi-layer (4-tier) architecture method, Model-View-Controller (MVC), and a Service Layer approach implemented with the Laravel framework and MySQL database. Data collection involved observation, interviews, and documentation to comprehensively identify system requirements. The developed system is designed to facilitate customers in making online service bookings, while also assisting administrators in managing schedules, services, and transactions in a more structured and real-time manner. The implementation results show that the online booking system improves the operational efficiency of QM Photo Studio, reduces the potential for recording errors, and accelerates service confirmation processes. Furthermore, the system supports digital transformation in photography business management, making services more effective, modern, and responsive to customer needs.

Abstract

Bantiran Village, located in Pupuan District, Tabanan Regency, possesses substantial agricultural potential, with key commodities including durian, mangosteen, avocado, cocoa, and banana. However, local farmers continue to face challenges related to the low market value of non-grade fruits that fail to meet commercial standards despite remaining suitable for consumption. This condition results in economic losses and increases the risk of agricultural product wastage. The Economy Social Activity (ESA) program organized by students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (UNDIKNAS), aimed to enhance community knowledge and skills in transforming non-grade fruits into value-added products. The program was implemented through educational sessions on the concept of non-grade fruits, entrepreneurship opportunities based on local agricultural resources, and hands-on training in processing fruits into products such as premium durian jam, mangosteen syrup, and mangosteen peel herbal tea. The results demonstrated a high level of community participation and an increased understanding of the economic potential of non-grade fruits. Participants also acquired practical skills related to product processing, packaging, and marketing. The utilization of non-grade fruits as raw materials for value-added products has significant potential to increase the economic value of agricultural produce, reduce food waste, and create new business opportunities that contribute to improving household income and community welfare in Bantiran Village.

Abstract

Indonesian language learning in elementary schools still faces various challenges, particularly the limited use of learning media that can accommodate students' diverse characteristics and learning needs. This condition affects students' motivation, participation, and understanding of learning materials. This Community Service Program aimed to optimize the use of Indonesian language learning media to improve students' understanding, motivation, and learning outcomes at SDN Tambalangan. The program was conducted from December 6 to 8, 2025, using a participatory approach consisting of preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The implementation stage involved learning activities and mentoring through the use of engaging and interactive Indonesian language learning media. Evaluation was carried out through observation, task assessment, and the administration of pretests and posttests. The results showed that the use of learning media increased students' engagement in the learning process. Students demonstrated high enthusiasm and actively participated in discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and various learning activities. Furthermore, the evaluation results indicated an improvement in students' understanding, as reflected in better posttest scores compared to pretest scores. The learning media also created a more engaging, interactive, and meaningful learning environment, thereby enhancing students' motivation and learning outcomes. Therefore, optimizing the use of Indonesian language learning media can serve as an effective strategy for improving the quality of learning and students' literacy skills in elementary schools.

Abstract

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Utilization Training represents a structured community service initiative targeting students of Rumah Yatim and Pesantren Ruhama. This program is designed to equip participants with additional competencies, encompassing practical skills and contemporary digital literacy aligned with the evolving demands of the educational sector. The AI utilization training aims to enhance students’ digital literacy, thereby fostering their capacity to adapt to emerging technological advancements. Participants are trained to comprehend foundational AI concepts and their applications in learning, productivity, and innovation, contributing to their preparedness for the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0. Observations conducted in collaboration with partner institutions identified several challenges, including limited student engagement in digital literacy, insufficient infrastructure, and a lack of understanding regarding AI utilization. In response, this program implements targeted workshops and training sessions focused on AI applications. The activities undertaken in this program include: (1) facilitating access to AI applications and providing instructional guidance to enable students to acquire fundamental digital skills with minimal barriers; and (2) delivering interactive, engaging, and easily comprehensible instruction on basic AI applications through practical demonstrations and hands-on exercises. This initiative is expected to promote the development and enrichment of students’ competencies in both theoretical and practical dimensions of digital literacy. Consequently, participants demonstrate improved proficiency and confidence in AI utilization, enhancing their readiness to navigate current and future digital technology landscapes. Empirical outcomes indicate an increase in participants’ knowledge, understanding, skills, and competency related to AI from 85% prior to training to 95% post-training.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant public health concern due to its widespread occurrence and potential for transmission. Insufficient public awareness regarding TB symptoms and transmission pathways may delay early detection and increase the risk of disease spread within the community. This community service program was designed to enhance community understanding of tuberculosis signs and symptoms through health education. The activity involved 36 community members, predominantly adult women. Educational interventions were delivered through lectures, interactive discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and the distribution of informational leaflets. Participants’ knowledge was assessed using pre-test and post-test evaluations. The findings demonstrated an improvement in knowledge following the educational intervention, as reflected by an increase in the average score from 58.6 before the program to 84.2 afterward. Participants gained a better understanding of TB symptoms, modes of transmission, the importance of early diagnosis, and preventive measures applicable in daily life. In addition, the program fostered greater awareness and encouraged community involvement in tuberculosis prevention and control efforts. These findings suggest that health education is an effective approach to strengthening community health literacy and supporting tuberculosis control initiatives.

Abstract

Early childhood represents a critical foundational phase for cognitive, motor, and socio-emotional maturation. Traditional instructional models frequently encounter limitations in addressing individual developmental variances, thereby necessitating innovative, learner-centered pedagogical interventions. This community service initiative implemented the "Jelajah Ceria" (Cheerful Exploration) program, a structured play-based curriculum, at the Dulohupa Traditional House, Gorontalo. The intervention employed an experiential learning approach, facilitating a series of physical and cognitive activities including obstacle navigation, ball-handling drills, color-matching tasks, and exploratory play to stimulate holistic development. Field observations revealed diverse developmental responses among the participants. While a significant majority demonstrated enthusiastic engagement and tangible motor skill progression, a subset of participants required additional guided scaffolding to adapt to the learning environment. These findings underscore that targeted, play-centric interventions are effective in fostering meaningful learning experiences. The "Jelajah Ceria" model successfully bridges the gap between structured stimulation and organic learning, thereby providing a viable, replicable framework for enhancing early childhood holistic development within community-based educational settings.

Abstract

The implementation of teaching assistance from the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia provides an opportunity for students to increase their insight and gain experience in helping the teaching and learning process in educational units. The implementation method at the Partner School, namely SMP Negeri 2 Waingapu, has several stages, namely observation, interview implementation, and evaluation. The rograms implemented are academic activities including literacy (Creating a knowledge tree), numeracy (Creating a multiplication control pocket book, non-academic activities (biology and mathematics learning media exhibition) and library space arrangement. The results achieved from creating a knowledge tree through literacy produce structured understanding, facilitate information organization, and improve critical thinking skills. The results of numeracy through the creation of a multiplication control pocket book are an increase in the ability to calculate quickly and accurately, and make it easier for students to remember and master multiplication tables in a practical and efficient way. The results of the Biology and Mathematics learning media exhibition are an increase in student understanding through interactive visualization, which makes it easier for them to understand complex concepts in both subjects. The results of the library space arrangement are the creation of a more organized, comfortable, and efficient space, which supports the comfort of visitors in accessing information sources.

Abstract

Traditional Aceh dance learning in the Sendratasik Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Syiah Kuala University, has primarily emphasized mastery of dance movements, while the understanding and recitation of dance lyrics have received less attention. As a result, some students experience difficulties in pronouncing lyrics correctly, interpreting their meanings, and performing confidently. This community service activity aimed to enhance students’ ability to understand, recite, and apply the character values and cultural concepts contained in the Pho Dance lyrics. The program involved 30 students from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 cohorts and employed a peer tutoring method combined with the Experiential Learning model through the stages of Concrete Experience, Reflective Observation, and Abstract Conceptualization. The results showed significant improvements in students’ lyric recitation skills, including pronunciation accuracy, intonation (geureunek), mastery of the South Aceh dialect, and the ability to convey meaning through movement and expression. Students also demonstrated greater confidence during performances and gained a deeper understanding of character values such as politeness, patriotism, mutual respect, affection, and responsibility. Furthermore, they developed broader insights into Acehnese cultural concepts, including peumulia jamee, wedding traditions, religious values, heroism, cultural identity, and cultural preservation. The activity also strengthened cooperation, empathy, and mutual respect among participants, indicating the effectiveness of peer tutoring and Experiential Learning in preserving Acehnese cultural heritage.
