Abstract

This piece of work examines the impact of the midday meal program on body mass index using secondary data on several Indian states. India has implemented the Mid-day Meal Program to improve the enrollment, attendance, retention, and academic success of school-aged children. A significant portion of schoolchildren from lower socioeconomic categories rely on cooked midday meals. When it comes to the pattern of midday meal consumption, girls outnumber boys among those who never ate it and those who stopped eating it, but when it comes to those who maintained eating it, boys outnumber girls. Less youngsters who take use of the midday meal the higher their academic grades are. The majority of kids are underweight (have a low body mass index), and boys make up a larger percentage of the underweight kids than girls do. When compared to children who are Above Poverty Line (BPL), a greater percentage of youngsters who fall into the Below Poverty Line (BPL) group have low body mass indices. To meet the goals of the Mid-day Meal Scheme, it is important to avoid repetition of the roughly same sort of meal menu.

Abstract

The study investigated the socio-economic impact of embankment construction around Ujong Kareung beach on the community of Gampong Suak Indrapuri, West Aceh District. Conducted as a qualitative descriptive research, the study focused on fishermen, traders, and fish cultivators in the area. Data was gathered through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicated two fundamental changes within the community. Firstly, embankment construction diversified livelihoods along the coast, encompassing activities such as fishing, shrimp cultivation, trade, and anchovy and salted fish cultivation. Secondly, there were notable shifts in income among the three livelihood types. Fishermen and traders experienced a decrease in monthly income, while fish cultivators witnessed an increase. From an ecotourism perspective, the beach barrier construction influenced various aspects, including the growth of cooperation and collaboration within the community. Additionally, it spurred high participation in developing and managing ecotourism at Suak Indra Puri Beach, leading to the establishment of new culinary tourism spots. The area became an innovative pilot village for managing tourism products in Gampong Suak Indra Puri. However, the study identified challenges, such as changing attitudes within the community from initial enthusiasm to later pessimism and apathy. Internal conflicts between communities and the gampong government emerged, contributing to apathy, and family modernization led to strained relationships among family members. Overall, the research shed light on the complex socio-economic dynamics resulting from embankment construction and its broader implications on community life.

Abstract

In the realm of Islamic science, al-Jabiri's significant perspective on epistemology, outlined in "an-nidham al-ma'rifi," encompasses Bayani, Irfani, and Burhani dimensions. According to al-Jabiri, Burhani is seen as a solution to revitalize the progress of Islamic world civilization, and it is closely tied to the systematic development of Islamic education. This research, using a literature-based approach, aims to examine how the Burhani epistemological framework contributes to shaping Islamic education. Then, the conclusion can be drawn that the Burhani epistemological order can construct the science of Islamic education as an essential instrument in improving the quality of Islamic education with the process of developing critical and logical thinking skills, can understand the relationship between science and religion, and develop an attitude of tolerance and respect for differences of opinion with the use of rational and logical reasoning. To realize these outcomes, educators must possess a deep understanding of and teaching skills aligned with Burhani epistemology, as well as the design of a dynamic, adaptive, and relevant Islamic education curriculum for the needs of society from generation to generation.
