Abstract

This study examines the construction of digital identity among runners who use Strava through Erving Goffman's dramaturgical perspective, focusing on the management of front stage and back stage in the practice of sharing running activities in digital space. The study aims to analyze how urban runners who use Strava construct their digital identity through self-presentation, impression management, and digital social interaction such as kudos and comments. This research applies a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with eight informants who are active Strava users in Jakarta, nonparticipant observation of the informants' Strava accounts, and documentation of running activity uploads. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman and interpreted through Goffman's dramaturgical theory. The results show that the use of Strava is not merely understood as a sports-tracking application, but also as a medium of self-documentation and self-evaluation, a space for self-presentation, and an arena of impression management. The main findings reveal that Strava users selectively display their best-performing activities on the front stage (public uploads) and conceal negative experiences such as fatigue, injury, or failure to reach targets on the back stage. Social interactions in the form of kudos and comments function as a form of social recognition that reinforces motivation, although not all users regard them as determinants of identity. Authenticity remains a value strongly upheld by the majority of users, who prefer to display genuine progress rather than manipulate their performance. This study concludes that the construction of runner identity on Strava is the result of negotiation between personal experience, impression management, and social response, positioning Strava as a digital space that not only records sporting activity but also becomes an arena for the formation of meaning and social identity.

Abstract

The rapid growth of Indonesia's skincare industry has intensified competition among local brands, making it essential to understand the factors influencing Generation Z's purchase intention. This study examines the effects of price perception, product quality, and social media marketing on consumers' purchase intention toward Somethinc skincare products. A quantitative causal research design was employed, involving 122 Generation Z respondents. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The findings indicate that both price perception and product quality have a positive and significant effect on purchase intention. In contrast, social media marketing has a positive but insignificant effect. The coefficient of determination (R²) shows that these three variables jointly explain a substantial proportion of the variance in purchase intention. The results suggest that Generation Z places greater emphasis on reasonable pricing and product quality than on social media marketing activities when making purchase decisions. Therefore, skincare companies should maintain high product quality, offer prices that reflect the value perceived by consumers, and develop more credible and relevant social media marketing strategies to strengthen consumers' purchase intention.

Abstract

Electric railway traction systems experience dynamic load variations during acceleration, cruising, braking, and idle operation, leading to fluctuations in current and voltage, particularly at the input of the Variable Voltage Variable Frequency (VVVF) inverter. These fluctuations may affect traction system performance, especially voltage stability under rapid load changes. This study analyzes the onboard traction system using real operational data, including VVVF output current, input voltage, train operating conditions, and timestamps. The analysis is limited to the onboard traction system and excludes traction substations and the external power distribution network. Statistical parameters, including average, minimum, and maximum voltage, standard deviation, and voltage drop percentage, were calculated to compare normal and fault conditions. The results indicate that fault conditions are characterized by a significant decrease in minimum voltage (from 933.11 V to 8.50 V), an increase in average current (from 37.80 A to 50.57 A), higher dynamic loading, and a greater voltage drop (from 2.64% to 5.34%), while the average voltage remains relatively stable. These findings demonstrate that voltage drop and current characteristics are effective indicators for evaluating traction system performance under varying operating conditions.

Abstract

This study investigates how ESG disclosure, green investment, and board gender diversity influence corporate reputation within Indonesia's manufacturing industry. The research draws on secondary data sourced from the annual and sustainability reports of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2018 and 2024. A sample of 68 companies yielding 476 total observations was analyzed using binary logistic regression with the Maximum Likelihood approach, processed through EViews 12.The findings reveal that ESG disclosure and board gender diversity both positively and significantly affect corporate reputation, indicating that greater ESG transparency and a more gender-inclusive boardroom improve how stakeholders perceive a company. Green Investment, however, showed no significant impact on reputation — a result that may stem from insufficient disclosure, delayed outcomes, and inconsistent practices among companies. The study concludes that to build a stronger corporate reputation, companies should prioritize improving the quality of their ESG disclosure and adopt more inclusive governance structures.

Abstract

This project aims to design "Cerna Quest," a board game serving as an interactive educational tool for teaching the human digestive system to 5th-grade students at Permata Insani Islamic School. The project was motivated by the complexity of abstract biological concepts and the prevalence of conventional lecture-based teaching, which often results in poor student retention. The design's key innovation lies in its "knowledge-based movement" mechanic, where player movement is determined by the ability to answer quiz cards—replacing dice to minimize the element of chance. A descriptive qualitative research method was employed alongside the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) design model. The final output is a complete board game that integrates clear anatomical illustrations with a challenge-based gameplay system. Through its engaging visual approach, "Cerna Quest" is expected to significantly boost student engagement, motivation, and cognitive understanding. This project offers a creative instructional solution that transforms science education into a meaningful and measurable gaming experience within the school environment.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a poetry teaching module based on the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach, determine its validity, and evaluate its effectiveness in improving the literary appreciation of eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Bangsal. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Data were collected through observations, interviews, validation questionnaires, documentation, and student achievement tests. The research involved media experts, subject matter experts, learning experts, and eighth-grade students. The analysis revealed that existing poetry instruction lacked connections to students’ cultural experiences and appropriate CRT-based teaching materials. Consequently, a web-based digital poetry module integrating literary appreciation with local cultural contexts was developed. Validation results demonstrated excellent quality, with media experts awarding 93.75%, subject matter experts 91.67%, and learning experts 92.31%, indicating that the module was highly valid and suitable for classroom implementation. Revisions were made based on expert recommendations regarding layout, language, learning outcomes alignment, and local cultural integration. Effectiveness testing produced an average N-Gain score of 0.8271, classified as high, indicating significant improvement in students’ abilities to understand, interpret, appreciate, and respond to literary works. Therefore, the developed CRT-based poetry module is valid, feasible, and effective for classroom learning

Abstract

Oral literature constitutes an important component of Indonesia's intangible cultural heritage, preserving collective memory, cultural identity, and local wisdom across generations. One of the oral traditions that continues to be practiced is the Galeng Tahun (10 Suro) tradition in Dukuh Beber, Central Java. This study aimed to analyze the functions, meanings, and preservation strategies of oral literature embedded in this tradition. A qualitative ethnographic approach was employed to explore the cultural practices and community perspectives surrounding the ritual. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, religious figures, community elders, and local residents, as well as documentation of ritual activities and oral narratives. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while source and technique triangulation were applied to ensure trustworthiness. The findings reveal that oral literature in the Galeng Tahun tradition embodies multidimensional meanings, encompassing religious devotion, gratitude, moral education, social cohesion, and cultural identity. Its functions extend beyond ritual communication to include the transmission of ethical values, the strengthening of communal solidarity, and the preservation of collective memory. Preservation efforts are sustained through intergenerational transmission, active community participation, educational initiatives, and digital documentation. The study proposes a community-based collaborative preservation model, integrating families, traditional leaders, educational institutions, local government, and younger generations to ensure the sustainability of oral literature amid contemporary social and cultural changes.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of local regulation socialization and complaint service quality on community compliance in maintaining public order in Sagulung District, Batam City. The study is grounded in the argument that community compliance is not determined solely by sanctions, but also by citizens' understanding of regulations, the quality of government communication, service responsiveness, and trust in local law enforcement. A quantitative survey design was employed. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires administered to 120 residents of Sagulung District and analyzed with IBM SPSS Statistics through validity and reliability tests, descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The findings show that local regulation socialization has a positive and significant effect on community compliance. Complaint service quality also has a positive and significant effect and emerges as the more dominant predictor. Simultaneously, both variables explain 64.2% of the variance in community compliance. These findings confirm that effective public order enforcement requires a combination of regulatory education and complaint services that are responsive, transparent, accessible, and accountable. This study contributes to empirical legal studies and local public administration by positioning complaint services as an instrument for shaping social compliance rather than merely an administrative reporting channel.

Abstract

The growing dominance of Generation Z in the global workforce has prompted organizations to reassess the effectiveness of Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM). Unlike previous studies that view Generation Z work ethic as an inherent generational characteristic, this study conceptualizes it as an outcome of an organization's ability to achieve Strategic Human Resource Alignment through strategic HR practices, psychological contracts, and person–organization fit. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines was conducted to synthesize evidence from peer-reviewed publications. The findings suggest that Generation Z work ethic is an organizationally shaped behavior fostered by fair, adaptive, transparent, and people-centered HR practices. These practices strengthen psychological contracts, enhance person–organization fit, and promote employee well-being, supporting long-term organizational sustainability. Based on these findings, this study proposes the Strategic Person–Organization Alignment Framework (SPOAF) as a conceptual model explaining how strategic alignment between organizations and employees shapes Generation Z work ethic.
