Abstract

This study examines the integration of local wisdom into sociology learning and its contribution to strengthening students’ cultural identity at SMA Negeri 2 Sinjai. The research was motivated by the growing influence of globalization, which has led to shifts in cultural values among younger generations, highlighting the need for educational strategies that preserve and reinforce cultural identity. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The participants consisted of sociology teachers, students, the school principal, and community leaders selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that the integration of local wisdom in sociology learning is implemented by connecting learning materials with local cultural values, such as mutual cooperation, Bugis traditions, and the social norms of the Sinjai community. These values are incorporated through discussion-based learning, case studies, and environment-oriented assignments. Teachers facilitate this process by utilizing students’ experiences, real-life social situations, and local social phenomena, making the learning process more contextual and meaningful. The integration of local wisdom positively influences students by enhancing their understanding of local culture, fostering appreciation for social values, and strengthening pride in their regional cultural identity. Therefore, local wisdom-based sociology learning not only improves students’ academic comprehension but also contributes to character development and the reinforcement of cultural identity in the contemporary era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process, strategies, and impact of internalizing Siammasei values in Akidah Akhlak learning among Grade XI students at Madrasah Aliyah DDI Padanglampe, Pangkep Regency. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon within the madrasa’s social and cultural context. The participants included teachers, students, the madrasa principal, and the vice principal for curriculum affairs. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through triangulation, member checking, and prolonged observation. The findings indicate that the internalization of Siammasei values, including sipakatau (mutual respect), sipakalebbi (mutual appreciation), and sipakainge (mutual reminding), is implemented through contextual learning, habituation, role modeling, and the reinforcement of school culture. The process occurs across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, enabling students to understand and apply these values in their daily lives. The internalization of Siammasei values contributes to character development, strengthens positive social interactions, and fosters a religious and humanistic school culture. Its impact is reflected in students’ moral awareness, commendable behavior, and consistency in practicing ethical values within school, family, and community settings. This study concludes that the internalization of Siammasei values is an effective local wisdom-based strategy for character education and remains highly relevant to the needs of contemporary Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the basic concept of multicultural Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum development at SD Islam Athirah Makassar. The research is motivated by the need for educational practices that can respond effectively to cultural, religious, and social diversity in the era of globalization. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of the planning, implementation, and impact of the multicultural PAI curriculum. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using inductive techniques, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the multicultural PAI curriculum is based on the Athirah Integrated and Holistic Education System (AIHES), which integrates Qur’anic values with national and international curriculum standards. Its implementation is carried out through five interconnected educational processes: teaching, coaching, training, advisory, and consultancy. These processes support the contextual and continuous internalization of multicultural values within both classroom learning and school culture. The curriculum contributes to the development of students who are religious, tolerant, socially competent, and capable of interacting positively within diverse environments while maintaining their Islamic identity. This study concludes that the multicultural PAI curriculum at SD Islam Athirah Makassar represents an integrative and contextual model of Islamic education that is relevant to the needs of a multicultural society. The curriculum serves not only as a medium for transmitting religious values but also as an effective instrument for fostering inclusive character and global awareness among students.

Abstract

Precarious employment is a critical issue in modern employment, including in the industrial areas of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). These workers, generally contract or outsourced workers, face job instability, low wages, and limited access to social security and health protection. This situation poses serious challenges to the implementation of decent work and fair work principles. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Informants were purposively selected, consisting of seven workers in the industrial areas of Lombok, including contract workers, outsourced workers, teachers, and company management. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation of work activities, and documentation in the form of notes, photographs, and recordings. The results show that precarious workers face significant limitations in terms of job stability, adequate wages, health and safety protection, and participation in decision-making. Short-term contract practices, the risk of termination of employment, and minimal union representation exacerbate their vulnerability. Structural factors such as high worker numbers and limited skills weaken their bargaining position. In conclusion, vulnerable workers in Lombok require more inclusive labor regulations, adequate social protection, and collective worker empowerment to create more stable, decent, and equitable working conditions. This research provides empirical insights and information for sustainable industrial development policies.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly influenced children's daily activities, including the increasing intensity of playing online games among elementary school students. This study aims to analyze the intensity of online gaming and its relationship with emotional regulation among elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 17 elementary school students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument used a Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of 10 items for each variable. Data analysis was conducted descriptively by calculating the mean scores and percentages. The results show that the average score of online gaming intensity among students is 26.6 or 66.5% of the maximum score, which falls into the high category. Meanwhile, the students’ emotional regulation ability is in the moderate category with an average score of 25.3 or 63.3%. These findings indicate a tendency that higher intensity of online gaming is associated with lower emotional regulation ability among students. Therefore, parental and teacher supervision is necessary to regulate children's gaming activities in order to support their emotional development.

Abstract

This research aims to examine how the pesantren policies that are friendly toward students are implemented in efforts to prevent cases of violence at Pesantren Ar-Risalah Bantul. This research emerged because more and more people care about the protection of students' rights and because there are many cases of violence in Islamic boarding schools. Therefore, it is important to have educational policies that are safe, humane, and free from physical, verbal, or psychological violence. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained thru interviews, observations, and recordings involving the head of the pesantren, caregivers, teachers, and students. Data analysis was conducted descriptively using the policy implementation model from Van Meter and Van Horn, as well as the model from Merilee S. Grindle, and the AGIL theory by Talcott Parsons. The research results show that the pesantren's policies supporting students are implemented by creating rules against violence, a system for reporting cases, 24-hour dormitory supervision, training for educators on child-friendly education, and strengthening character education based on Islamic values. Violence prevention is carried out by teaching peace, mentoring the students, disseminating information about anti-bullying, and actively involving the pesantren administrators. The policy has a positive impact on creating a safer, more comfortable, and supportive atmosphere in the pesantren, as well as reducing the likelihood of physical, verbal, and psychological violence. The limitation of this research is its focus on only one pesantren located in a developing area, where there are limitations in technology and digital monitoring systems. This research offers something new by combining policy implementation theory and educational sociology approaches to create a pesantren model that is friendly to students, humanistic, and sustainable.

Abstract

Indonesian pesantren are increasingly required to develop economic independence through Business Units of Pesantren (BUMP), yet most BUMP are still managed traditionally without explicitly integrating Islamic entrepreneurship values into the governance system. This study aims to analyze how the business governance of BUMP at Pondok Pesantren Raudhatul Ulum Sakatiga (PPRU Sakatiga), South Sumatera, is implemented within the framework of Islamic entrepreneurship. A qualitative case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with three key informants: the pesantren leader, the head of BUMP, and an operational staff member; supported by participant observation and documentation of organizational structure, cash-flow reports, and SOPs. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model and verified through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal three structural mechanisms that operationalize Islamic entrepreneurship principles: (1) a four-tier organizational structure with explicit job descriptions reflecting the principle of amanah; (2) tiered monthly financial reporting embodying the principle of tabligh; and (3) participatory monthly evaluation meetings reflecting collective fathanah. The study contributes a value-based governance model that fills the structural framework of good governance with Islamic ethical content, offering both theoretical enrichment and practical reference for Islamic religious education.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of student motivation in participating in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning and the continued dominance of conventional teaching methods that tend to create passive learning environments. As a subject, Islamic Religious Education is not only intended to transfer knowledge but also to foster understanding, appreciation, and the implementation of Islamic values in daily life. Therefore, innovative learning approaches are needed to enhance student engagement and learning motivation. One such approach is the Discovery Learning model, which emphasizes active student involvement in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of the Discovery Learning model in Islamic Religious Education classes and to examine its impact on students’ learning motivation at SMK Negeri 2 Godean, Sleman, Yogyakarta. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and documentation. The research participants consisted of Islamic Religious Education teachers and students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Discovery Learning model positively influences students’ learning motivation. Students demonstrated higher levels of participation, greater enthusiasm for learning activities, and increased confidence in expressing ideas and opinions. The model also encouraged critical thinking, independent learning, and active problem-solving. Furthermore, Discovery Learning contributed to the development of students’ cognitive and metacognitive abilities, enabling them to achieve a deeper and more meaningful understanding of learning materials. The learning atmosphere became more interactive, engaging, and student-centered. Therefore, the Discovery Learning model can be considered an effective instructional approach for improving motivation and enhancing the quality of Islamic Religious Education learning in vocational high schools.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of habituating the use of the words please, sorry, thank you, and excuse me as the foundation of politeness character education for second-grade students at SD Negeri Pandanwangi 3. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the subjects consisting of the second-grade homeroom teacher and second-grade students. Data collection techniques were carried out thru observation, structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was tested thru source triangulation and technique triangulation. The research results show that the habituation of using the four magic words is consistently implemented in both learning activities and outside of learning thru teacher modeling, repeated reminders, positive reinforcement, and integration into the school culture. Supporting factors for the implementation of habituation include the exemplary behavior of teachers, a conducive school environment, and consistent execution, while the inhibiting factors are students' tendency to forget easily and the less supportive external environment. Teachers and all school members actively serve as role models and supervisors in instilling polite behavior in students. The research results also show an improvement in students' politeness character after the habituation was implemented, marked by an increase in the habit of saying please, sorry, thank you, and excuse me in various situations. Thus, the habituation of the four magic words has proven to be an effective strategy in shaping the politeness character of elementary school students.

Abstract

Qur'anic education at the elementary school level plays a strategic role in fostering students' religious character while developing their competence in reading the Qur'an accurately according to the principles of tajweed and makharij al-huruf. However, the post-pandemic learning context has revealed that many students still experience difficulties in achieving the expected standards of Qur'anic reading proficiency. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Surya Mentari Program (Suronatan Recites the Qur'an Every Day) and examine how its habituation-based approach contributes to improving students' Qur'anic reading quality. This research employed a qualitative field study using a descriptive case study design. The participants included the school principal, ISMUBA teachers, and fifth-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah Suronatan. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and validated using source and technique triangulation. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the Surya Mentari Program is systematically implemented through integrated stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation embedded within the school's culture. Continuous and structured habituation significantly improves students' fluency, accuracy in applying tajweed, and correctness of makharij al-huruf. The program also strengthens Qur'anic literacy, with students demonstrating reading achievement above the school's average Qur'anic literacy index. Beyond improving reading competence, the program contributes to the development of students' religious character, discipline, and learning motivation. These findings suggest that a habituation-based Qur'anic learning program is an effective strategy for enhancing Qur'anic reading quality and cultivating a sustainable culture of Qur'anic literacy in Islamic elementary schools.
