Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide training in writing popular scientific articles to improve the quality of writing by At Tanwir magazine contributors. Activities are carried out online and using the lecture method. This activity was attended by 25 participants from PCIM and PCIA Pakistan. The result of this activity is an increase in participants' understanding regarding writing popular articles. Community service activities run smoothly and successfully. The training material for writing popular scientific articles contains four (4) topics, namely: (1) motivation for writing, (2) basis for writing, (3) tips and tricks for writing, and (4) several things that must be considered when writing opinions and columns. After the material delivery session was completed, it continued with a discussion and question and answer session. The discussion and question and answer sessions also went well. Many participants interacted with the resource person to discuss the material presented. In the future, it is recommended that there be more intensive follow-up activities to improve participants' writing skills.

Abstract

This service program aims to revitalize the function of The Madin Takmiliyah Roudhotul ‘Ulum as a nonformal Islamic education facility that is relatively complete in teaching various Islamic religious disciplines compared to TPQ and to increase the interest of Karang Village residents to send their children to madin after passing TPQ. The research method is participatory action research (PAR) where participant involved to solve problems faced by society. The activity program stages include collecting data related to the root of the problem of the decline in the vitality of the functioning of the Madin through in-depth interviews with various parties involved, namely: the teacher council, religious leaders, student guardians, and the village government. After finding the root of the problem, a program of participatory activities was prepared which included village deliberations with the agenda of restructuring the management of Madin, aligning the curriculum of Madin, and positioning the TPQ. The results of the activity program are the building of awareness among residents about the importance of sending their children to Madin after passing the TPQ so that in turn this awareness can maintain the continuity of Madin and strengthen its function as a non-formal educational institution to deepen knowledge of the Islamic religion which is relatively inadequately studied or taught in formal educational institutions or institutions. non-formal education in the form of TPQ.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to support and empower Early Childhood Education (PAUD) teachers in handling Children with Special Needs (ABK) in East Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency. Through this program, various practical and interactive activities are held, including intensive training, workshops, and mentoring sessions focused on implementing inclusive education strategies. Evaluation of this activity shows a significant increase in teachers' understanding and skills in supporting ABK, with understanding scores increasing from 45% on the pre-test to 68% on the post-test after the intervention. These results indicate that interventions based on adaptive learning strategies and collaboration between teachers and parents are very effective in increasing teachers' awareness and knowledge about ABK. This program enriches the learning experience for PAUD teachers and contributes to creating a more inclusive and responsive educational environment for ABK in the community.

Abstract

Optimal nutrition supports children's growth and development. However, economic factors, family conditions, productivity, and knowledge about child nutrition are often barriers to achieving good nutrition. Powelua is a village in Banawa Tengah sub-district, Donggala, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia which is an outermost and underdeveloped village. Low education, poor access, and meager income are the objectives for carrying out this activity considering that these are the main reasons why someone does not get a decent and healthy life perfectly. The method of implementing the service is a lecture using visual media in the form of posters. The results of this activity. The results of community service show that knowledge about fulfilling nutrition for children does not have good knowledge, but after the counseling has an impact where knowledge about fulfilling nutrition for children and preparing healthy food menus in households is getting better. From the survey results, the satisfaction score was 88.25%, meaning that there is an update on knowledge, which can be in the form of education on balanced nutrition for children, types of food to help children's growth and development.

Abstract

This community service focuses on ESP related to Visual Communication Design. The community service team will provide specialized English instruction related to Visual Communication Design, aligning with the subjects studied by students at SMK Negeri 1 Jember. This community service aims to impart knowledge to SMKN 1 Jember students regarding ESP in Visual Communication Design and to provide training so that they can effectively apply visual language through images, wordplay, and informative and communicative message processing. The method used, such as preliminary studies, preparation and implementation in training, as well as internal and external evaluation This community service involves students from SMKN 1 Jember, specifically those in the 10th grade of the Visual Communication Design department. The results of the community service demonstrate that 33 students (91.6%) of SMKN 1 Jember are proficient in developing and effectively applying visual language for informative and communicative purposes. While 3 students (8.3%) still have not mastered it.

Abstract

This assistance aims to provide direct knowledge and practical facilities in preparing the Kurikulum Operasional Madrasah (KOM) and increase knowledge and skills before and after this activity. This service activity was carried out by the service team FAI at Universitas Billfath which was carried out from 27 February to 16 March 2023 with the target of assistance being 3 Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Karanggeneng District, Lamongan Regency with a total of 18 participants. The stages in this service activity consist of preparation, socialization, mentoring and evaluation. This training activity showed the results of an increase in the participants' understanding and skills regarding the preparation of KOM which is proof that the majority of the training participants successfully understood the overall material provided. Mastery of the training material can be seen from the increase in the pre-test and post-test given, where the average pre-test score was 58 then increased in the post-test to 95. In the aspect of psychomotor skills, the increase can be proven by the success of the participants in compiling the Kurikulum Operasional Madrasah (KOM). each of which will later be used in their Madrasah, and their opinions about this activity show the real benefits of producing a product in the form of a Kurikulum Operasional Madrasah (KOM).

Abstract

This community service aims to provide effective guidance and assistance for pre-adolescent students regarding the concept of women's blood in Islam and from a health perspective. This activity targets students to understand conceptually and be able to apply it in everyday life. Therefore, this community service program is implemented using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method so that there is effective cooperation and reciprocity between the PKM team and partners. After providing conceptual material, the PKM team also assisted in practically applying the material in the school environment. The target of this program is female students in grades 3-6 of MIM Pucangan Kartasura. The dissemination of material is carried out in stages and uses fun learning media in the form of educational videos, direct practice, and periodic mentoring. Meanwhile, the material taught is; the jurisprudence of water for purification, female reproductive anatomy, knowledge about menstruation, the color and texture of menstrual blood, the jurisprudence of menstruation, the differences between menstruation, childbirth and menstruation, and procedures for using sanitary napkins correctly and by the Shari'a. The implementation of this PKM showed an encouraging impact for partners, this can be seen from the activeness and positive responses of participants in all sessions. The success of this PKM activity is also demonstrated by high post-test results and practical applications, which are evaluated periodically to indicate the participant's mastery of the material and the assistance provided.

Abstract

This service aims to practice the creativity of educators in designing modern learning media for elementary school teachers. There are five stages of the service method used: the preliminary stage, the socialization and audience stage, the preparation and implementation stage of counseling, the activity stage, the results presentation stage, and the final evaluation. The activity was carried out by presenting material on educators' creativity in designing modern learning media. The results of the service can be seen from the calculation of the pre-test and post-test questionnaires, both before and after being given the material, showing a significant difference in the numbers from the pre-test which did not fully understand the usefulness of one's creativity in designing learning media into maximum numbers after being given the understanding to utilize creativity. themselves in designing modern learning media using sophisticated technology according to current developments.

Abstract

To improve the teachers’ competencies and skills in using updated digital technology, specifically Artificial Intelligence (AI), this activity aimed at improving the teachers’ competencies and skills in creating learning media by utilizing OpenAI: ChatGPT. It is a community service done by a group of English Education Study Program lecturers at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sriwijaya. The activity procedures were program socialization, presentation, discussion, mentoring, and practices. The participants are members of the junior high school English Teachers’ Forum, in Indonesia, known as MGMP Bahasa Inggris SMP, in Lubuklinggau. Firstly, all participants were introduced to artificial intelligence and OpenAI: ChatGPT. Next, they were guided to create a new account, construct proper prompts or instructions, and integrate the platform into their English classroom. Before the workshop, the participants were given a questionnaire to answer. It was found that 100% of them never heard of or used OpenAI: ChatGPT. Nevertheless, positive responses were obtained after the workshop sessions. The participants agreed that it was really helpful for them. They can get creative teaching ideas, prepare classroom learning material, and access unlimited information. Therefore, 63,2% of the teachers strongly agree and 36,8% of the teachers agree that it can enhance the learning experience. Not only that, all participants encouraged the government or authorized institutions to give further workshops related to updated technology. As a result, the participants were able to create learning media using OpenAI: ChatGPT.

Abstract

This service aims to overcome problems in attendance management at SMK PGRI Sumber Pucung, which is currently still using a manual system, so it can potentially cause recording errors, time inefficiencies, and the risk of data loss during the archiving process. Therefore, as a solution to the existing problem, an Android-based attendance system was developed, where the method applied is the waterfall method, with the implementation carried out in stages starting from problem identification to system evaluation. The results of the service show that the system has succeeded in increasing the efficiency of daily attendance recording time by 66.67% and increasing the recording accuracy by up to 80%, so that this android-based attendance system can overcome problems in manual attendance management at SMK PGRI Sumber Pucung, and can be implemented as a solution to help the school administration process. Attendance system testing shows effective performance and runs well across various platforms. In the admin dashboard test, the test on the student attendance application from 3 test scenarios was successfully carried out as expected, then the test on the student attendance application consisting of 6 scenarios was also successfully carried out according to expectations. Functional testing on the web browser, admin dashboard, and functional testing on the teacher attendance application which has the same scenario, totaling 14, was successfully carried out according to expectations. Testing on the student attendance application that has 4 scenarios was successfully carried out according to expectations.
