Abstract

Currently, the government continues to encourage PAUD institutions to apply for accreditation. Several institutions in Penajam District, North Paser Regency, and East Kalimantan have not submitted on the grounds that (1) Teachers are still unfamiliar with the use of technology related to uploading documents in the system, (2) Teachers experience confusion related to providing the types of documents for each accreditation item, (3) Teacher incomprehension of the document format for each accreditation item. This community service activity was carried out in collaboration with the East Kalimantan Nahdlatul Ulama University together with the National Accreditation Board for PAUD and PNF Kaltim located in North Penajam Paser Regency and the participants consisted of supervisors and supervisors as well as heads of PAUD and PNF units who in their implementation combined theory and practice of filling out the SISPENA application. The aim is to help achieve the level of achievement of the quota for PAUD and PNF units that will participate in accreditation. The result was a common perception about accreditation, understanding of accreditation documents, and PAUD units were ready to upload documents to SISPENA

Abstract

This service aims to provide training to improve the quality of TPQ teachers to implement management and introduce the Jāmiʻatī Method. Having proper management of the education system also influences the quality of students. Where good management will create a learning system that is easy to understand, this research uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. This research was carried out in a participatory manner among community members in a community. This PAR method uses three main pillars: research methodology, action dimension, and participation dimension. Implementing this method begins with preliminary mapping, building relationships with TPQ teachers, participatory mapping, formulating strategies, and launching actions. In this way, this research encourages transformative action results involving residents. The results of this mentoring produce an impact on the social relations of TPQ teachers on the importance of a learning method. The method given is the Jāmiʻatī Method which is given to the ustad/ustadzah in the form of TPQ learning exercises. Apart from that, understanding the importance of learning the Koran is also discussed in the form of socialization. This is so that parents are aware of the importance of Al-Qur'an education. After providing assistance with learning methods and socialization, this program is expected to be able to increase educational and management resources which are still unstructured.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to assist junior high school teachers in creating digital learning media based on artificial intelligence and to enable them to be implemented independently in the teaching and learning process. This activity was carried out from September to November 2023 at SMP Negeri 16 Palangka Raya. The stages of implementing this service activity are: coordination with partners, Training Implementation, and Mentoring Implementation. This mentoring activity has succeeded in achieving the main goal, which is to improve the competence of SMP Negeri 16 Palangka Raya teachers in creating Digital Learning Media based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Teachers who previously only had basic computer and internet skills are now able to utilize various AI-based applications such as Google Workspace, Canva, and Microsoft Office 365 to create teaching modules and teaching materials that are interactive, engaging, and relevant to the needs of students in the digital era. This activity also succeeded in increasing the confidence of teachers in adopting new technology into the learning process. From the results of this activity, some of the challenges faced, such as the difference in the level of technology mastery among teachers, can be solved through direct guidance and intensive mentoring. Teachers feel helped by the existence of training modules, technical instructions, and support from students and resource persons. This shows that well-designed training, supported by adequate facilities and infrastructure, is able to have a positive impact on the development of educators' competencies.

Abstract

Community Service Activities (PPM) aim to help teachers develop ideas in the form of written scientific papers which are then published in the form of textbooks or scientific articles. This Requirements activity can also be used as a supporting point in teacher promotion. The method of implementing activities begins with a) data collection, b) preparation of plans, c) implementation of activities, d) evaluation of activities, and e) publication. The method of implementing activities is by assisting in transmission. The results of PPM activities include: (1) participants get an introduction to PTK with various learning methods, (2) participants receive assistance in making PTK, and (3) participants receive assistance in drafting journal articles/proceedings using the journal template they are going to. This service activity received a positive response as shown by looking at the results of the questionnaire as much as 87% of the activity can motivate and increase knowledge before receiving assistance by 72% regarding PTK as well as preparing draft publications through textbooks and scientific articles.

Abstract

The goal of this activity is to create a disaster-safe school environment at MA Sunan Santri Lamongan and to familiarize the school community with disaster preparedness. The methods used in this activity include training based on Participatory Rural Appraisal and an experimental method implementing a one-group pre-test post-test design to assess the impact of the implemented training. The results of this activity have shown an increase in students' understanding and skills in disaster preparedness. Furthermore, the program has demonstrated that each series of activities enhances the disaster mitigation skills of the school community. The SPAB program at MA Sunan Santri Lamongan enhances disaster awareness and preparedness among students and staff, creating a safer and more responsive school environment. This program also strengthens the disaster mitigation skills of the school community, ensuring a quick and effective response to potential future disasters.

Abstract

The community service to training in the preparation of text genre-based LKPD for junior high school Indonesian language subject teachers in Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Regency as an implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka. Therefore, this activity was carried out so that junior high school teachers in OKI Regency could design LKPD properly. In addition, this activity is part of professional development activities for teachers. The methods used are material delivery, material simulation, mentoring, interaction, and assignments. material delivery, material simulation, and mentoring are intended to provide knowledge and insights with concrete examples related to text-based learning in the independent curriculum, types of text, and how to develop LKPD properly. An assignment is a practice activity of making LKPD exercises which are carried out individually then the results are discussed online through zoom. Each participant is asked to present their work and then be corrected together by peers and instructors. Based on the correction, the participants then revised the LKPD so that it became LKPD which was ready to be printed. At the beginning and end of the activity, a test was carried out in the form of self-reflection about knowledge of the LKPD.

Abstract

The training on creating interactive learning media using Canva through the service learning method was conducted to enhance the teaching competencies of elementary school teachers in the era of Industry 4.0. This Community Service Program (PKM) aimed to increase teachers' knowledge and understanding of developing e-learning-based learning media. The activity was held at SD Muhammadiyah 11, Bidaracina Village, East Jakarta, on May 22, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with ten teachers participating. The training included a pretest, mentoring, and a posttest conducted by the FKIP UHAMKA lecturer team. The results showed an improvement in teachers' knowledge of the steps in creating Canva-based learning media, the creation of e-learning-based teaching materials, and positive responses from the participants. Teachers demonstrated the ability to create and effectively use e-learning-based learning media. This training successfully enhanced the teachers' competencies in using Canva as an interactive learning media.

Abstract

This mentoring aims to teach systematic, neutral, and logical writing techniques and present facts in detail to improve the writing and photography skills of the Yogyakarta Social Service Advisors. However, they often face challenges in detailed writing, using appropriate diction, and taking relevant photos. Therefore, intensive mentoring is needed to enhance the facilitators' writing and photography skills. This mentoring aims to teach systematic, neutral, and logical writing techniques and the ability to present facts in detail. Additionally, photography assistance focuses on lighting techniques, image composition, and selecting the right moments. This mentoring program consists of three stages: preparation (observation, problem identification, and solution discussion with partners), implementation (writing and photography mentoring for three days using interactive and practical methods), and evaluation (measuring the effectiveness of the mentoring and identifying areas for improvement). The results of the mentoring showed an improvement in the facilitators' writing and photography skills, as evidenced by the number of articles published on the Social Service website. Despite challenges such as conflicting schedules and limited technology, the participants' enthusiasm helped overcome these obstacles. This mentoring has positively impacted the facilitators' ability to present informative and heartfelt information to the public, providing education to a broader audience.

Abstract

Population growth in Indonesia is increasing rapidly; of course, the volume of waste is growing because people's activities continue using things that are not environmentally friendly. This phenomenon can be seen in Marengan Laok Village, Kalianget District, Sumenep Regency, which is claimed to be a slum village. The community service carries two goals: building awareness and providing real action to residents by providing theoretical and practical knowledge to the community about waste processing or recycling to solve this problem. In this case, the service uses a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which addresses issues and fulfills the practical needs of society, the production of knowledge, and the process of social change, as well as raising collective critical awareness. After analysis, the community's indifference is based on a lack of knowledge, skills in recycling domestic waste, and a lack of attention from the government. Through a united, socialist community culture and support from the village government and local community leaders, the PCM program, which consists of preventing, controlling, and recycling waste, can gradually make people aware of the importance of protecting the environment. This success is supported by the establishment of the UPT Abhinar Waste Laboratory, which is used as extra handling so that domestic waste does not endanger people's lives and residents can recycle organic and inorganic waste, such as making eco paving blocks, accessories, bags, and others.

Abstract

This service aims to increase students' knowledge and skills in writing descriptive paragraphs by using AI in the learning process. The implementation of the service involved 30 students in English lessons by combining several methods, namely lecture, demonstration, simulation, and discussion methods including preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The descriptive paragraph writing results of the students before and after the training on the use of Quillbot were evaluated, and with the use of Quillbot, their writing showed improvement in expressing ideas and developing paragraphs logically and systematically, quality in grammatical aspects, and more structured. Questionnaires filled out by participants during the implementation of the activity showed that many students had not utilized Artificial Intelligence so far in any case, especially related to learning activities. Through this training, students have the ability and knowledge from experience in using AI in writing descriptive paragraphs.
