Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of the increasing incidence of minor crimes in Banuasibohou 1 Village, Alasa Subdistrict, North Nias Regency, with a primary focus on its connection to drunken behavior resulting from the consumption of local alcoholic beverages. This issue has become a serious concern, as it not only disrupts public order but also undermines the cultural and traditional values long upheld by the Nias community. The aim of this research is to determine the extent to which the intensity of alcohol consumption contributes to the rise in criminal behavior within the village environment, as well as to understand the social and cultural roots of such behavior. The study was conducted using a mixed-methods approach, involving interviews, field observations, and quantitative surveys to test the hypothesis regarding the relationship between drunkenness and crime.

Abstract

Employee performance at Pontianak City's public health center (Puskesmas) has recently revealed a gap between the goals outlined in the Health Department's Performance Agreement and actual results.  Emotional intelligence is one of the internal characteristics that may impact performance, as indicated by this condition.  Results from earlier research on the connection between employee performance and emotional intelligence have been mixed.  Furthermore, only a small number of studies—especially in Pontianak City—have positioned job satisfaction as a mediating variable in the context of basic healthcare services.  This study uses job satisfaction as a mediating variable to examine how emotional intelligence affects Puskesmas employees' performance in Pontianak City.  225 Puskesmas employees who were chosen through purposive sampling were given questionnaires as part of a quantitative approach.  Using the SmartPLS software, structural equation modeling, or SEM, was used to analyze the data.  The findings demonstrate that emotional intelligence significantly and favorably affects employee performance as well as job satisfaction.  Additionally, it was discovered that a significant mediating variable in the association between performance and emotional intelligence was job satisfaction.  These results emphasize how crucial it is to enhance job pleasure and cultivate emotional intelligence as calculated measures to boost worker performance.  The practical implication is that in order to improve the quality of public health services in a sustainable manner, Puskesmas management and the Health Department should focus more on the psychological aspects of their workforce.

Abstract

Telkomsel is recognized as a leading telecommunications network in Indonesia. However, some customers continue to express concerns about network quality not always meeting expectations and service rates perceived as relatively high. As one of the largest transmission service providers in Indonesia, Telkomsel serves a customer base of approximately 169.2 million. The company offers a prepaid starter card, Simpati, designed to meet various user needs. This study aims to analyze the influence of Mobile Call Quality and Value for Money on Customer Satisfaction and its impact on Customer Loyalty among Simpati users. The research is motivated by the importance of service quality and perceived value in maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty in the highly competitive telecommunications industry. Data were collected from 200 respondents who are active Telkomsel prepaid users, specifically of the Simpati product, using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 4 software with a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Squares. The results show that both Mobile Call Quality and Value for Money significantly influence Customer Satisfaction, which in turn positively affects Customer Loyalty. These findings offer strategic implications for Telkomsel, particularly regarding the Simpati product, in managing service quality and perceived value to retain long-term customers.

Abstract

The high public interest in skin care products has led to consumers facing various choices, encouraging manufacturers to innovate and promote their products, including through influencers. This study aims to evaluate the effect of online customer reviews and promotional content on impulse buying of The Originote products in Indonesia, with influencers as moderating variables. The focus of the study is Indonesian consumers aged 17 years and over who have purchased and tried The Originote products at least once. Data were collected through questionnaires from 205 respondents using purposive sampling techniques and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The results showed that online customer reviews and promotional content have a positive and significant effect on impulse buying. However, influencers do not significantly moderate their relationship to impulse buying. This finding suggests that in digital marketing, trust in online customer reviews and the strength of promotional content are more effective in driving impulse buying than influencers. The practical implication of this research is the importance for businesses to focus marketing strategies on strengthening promotional content and online customer reviews

Abstract

This study investigates the mediating role of profitability, as measured by Return on Assets (ROA), in the relationship between credit risk (Loan Loss Provision/LLP), capital adequacy (Capital Adequacy Ratio/CAR), operational efficiency (BOPO), and board size on Return on Equity (ROE) growth within Indonesia’s banking sector. The study is grounded in the growing competition in the industry and the demand for robust financial performance amidst the ongoing transformation from conventional to digital banking. The dataset comprises quarterly financial statements from 13 banks over the 2020–2024 period, yielding 260 total observations. Panel data regression and Sobel test-based mediation analysis were employed using EViews 12 software. The findings reveal that ROA significantly mediates the negative effect of LLP and BOPO on ROE growth, and positively mediates the influence of board size. Conversely, the mediating role of ROA in the relationship between CAR and ROE growth was not statistically significant. These results underscore the strategic importance of profitability in linking managerial and operational factors to the financial growth of banks. The practical implication highlights the need for banks to prioritize risk management and operational efficiency to support sustainable earnings growth.

Abstract

Method validation is one of the quality assurance processes that must be carried out on a developed Method Anthocyanins in purple sweet potato peel can be used as a reagent in a test kit for method development to detect borax. Borax is a substance prohibited as a food additive, yet it is still commonly found in food products such as kerupuk puli (a type of Indonesian cracker). Therefore, it is necessary to validate the test kit method using purple sweet potato peel extract to determine the borax content in kerupuk puli sold at Ngemplak Market, Tulungagung. The research method used was experimental, involving organoleptic testing, creation of a color comparator, method validation, and both qualitative and quantitative testing of borax in kerupuk puli. Organoleptic results from 5 samples indicated the possible presence of borax, characterized by a crispy texture and a bitter taste. The color comparator produced showed that purple sweet potato peel extract can detect borax, indicated by different color changes corresponding to each variation in borax concentration. The method validation results met the required criteria, including linearity with an R² of 0.996; Limit of Detection (LoD) of 0.028%; Limit of Quantification (LoQ) of 0.095%; accuracy of 101.04%; and Relative Standard Deviation (RSD) of 1.8%. The kerupuk puli samples tested using this method showed the presence of borax at a concentration of 0.0002%.
