Abstract

This study aims to analyze the readability level of children's books using the Fry Graph and Raygor Graph to determine the suitability of reading materials for elementary school grade levels. This study employed a quantitative descriptive approach with seven children's books as the research objects. The readability analysis was based on the average number of syllables, sentences, and difficult words in every 100 words from each analyzed book. The results indicate that six out of seven analyzed books have a readability level appropriate for third-grade elementary students based on both formulas. Meanwhile, one book demonstrates a readability level corresponding to sixth-grade students, indicating higher linguistic complexity compared to the others. These findings suggest that not all children's books are automatically suitable for their intended grade level. Therefore, readability analysis is necessary in selecting reading materials to ensure alignment between text difficulty and students’ reading abilities in elementary education.

Abstract

Parents' busyness often leads to a lack of attention to the development of children's interests and talents, even though these two aspects are the main foundation in optimizing one's potential from an early age. This study aims to describe the role of parents in developing children's interests and talents and analyze the impact of these involvements. The method used is a qualitative approach with a case study type located at Diponegoro Kindergarten 101 Pejogol. Data collection was carried out through observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results of the study show that the role of parents as educators, guides, motivators, and facilitators contributes positively to increasing children's confidence, motivation, and creativity. Parental support through the provision of consistent facilities and assistance has also been proven to be able to optimize children's potential and strengthen the emotional bond between parents and children. In conclusion, the active involvement of parents is a key factor in the development of interests and talents, so continuous synergy between schools and parents is needed to support children's overall growth and development.

Abstract

Thesis writing is a representation of students' academic abilities and professionalism in communicating in written form scientifically. However, in practice, technical aspects are often neglected compared to substantive aspects. This research aims to map the typology of technical errors in the thesis manuscripts of students in the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) program at University X. The research approach uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive research type and descriptive-quantitative data analysis. The research results show that out of 15 categories of technical errors, there are three most dominant errors, namely: italicization, spacing, and citation format. In addition, issues were found regarding outdated references and inconsistencies in enumeration. These findings indicate the need to strengthen the understanding of the writing guidelines established by the University and to enhance students' precision thru the process of revising their writing and utilizing reference management technology.

Abstract

Student adjustment in higher education is a key determinant of academic success, psychological well-being, and study persistence. In the Indonesian context, minority students including those from different cultural, ethnic, religious backgrounds, students with disabilities, and other marginalized groups often face more complex adjustment challenges. This study aims to systematically review the literature on adjustment challenges, coping strategies, and supporting factors influencing minority students’ adaptation in higher education. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by analyzing national and international peer reviewed journal articles published between 2015 and 2025. Data were collected through Google Scholar, Scispace, and reputable journal platforms and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The findings reveal that minority students commonly experience academic pressure, acculturative stress, emotional difficulties, and social exclusion. Effective coping strategies such as emotion-focused coping, problem-focused coping, and social support seeking play an important role in overcoming these challenges. Furthermore, perceived social support, psychological capital, and inclusive institutional environments consistently support successful adjustment. These findings highlight the importance of inclusive policies and comprehensive support systems within Indonesian higher education to promote equitable student success and well being.
