Abstract

Empathic concern is an affective component of empathy that plays a crucial role in the social and emotional development of adolescents. The decline of empathic concern among adolescents has become a global concern, marked by a weakening of emotional caring in younger generations toward others across various social contexts. In Indonesia, the high prevalence of relational problems among adolescents indicates weakening socio-emotional competence, including low levels of empathic concern among students. This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review on the role of psychoeducational interventions in improving empathic concern among early adolescent students. Data were collected through searches of three electronic databases covering publications from 2015 to 2025, yielding 14 articles that met the predetermined inclusion criteria. Data analysis employed a narrative synthesis approach to group and synthesize findings based on psychoeducational intervention characteristics, population, and measured outcomes. The findings indicate that the majority of psychoeducational interventions play a role in enhancing students' empathic concern, with participatory methods such as role-playing, reflective discussion, and social simulation yielding more optimal outcomes compared to conventional approaches. Psychoeducational interventions designed in a participatory, contextual, and sustained manner represent a promising approach to strengthening empathic concern among students in educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims (1) to identify the process of improving singing technique using the chest register in students specializing in vocal studies, and (2) to describe the effect of improving chest register ability on vocal quality, emotional expression, and song interpretation among vocal specialization students. This study employs a qualitative approach with a field research method. The qualitative approach is used to gain an in-depth understanding of the process of improving singing ability through the chest register vocal technique, including changes in students’ skill development and responses during the learning process. The field research method is applied to improve vocal learning practices through stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection on the direct application of the chest register technique in the field. Data were collected through observation, field practice, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive qualitative analysis. Data were obtained from pre-tests conducted to determine students’ initial abilities before the training process and post-tests to identify their development and improvement after the training was implemented. The results show that the process of improving singing technique using the chest register was effectively carried out through face-to-face learning, with a focus on initial understanding of the chest register concept, chest resonance, application in the model song Syukur by Husein Mutahar, articulation, breath control, intonation, and expression. The improvement was indicated by a thicker, more powerful, and more stable vocal tone.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of school culture and work motivation on teacher performance in the Bougenvile 4 Cluster, Ulu Belu District. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of all elementary school teachers within the Bougenvile 4 Cluster, and the sampling technique used was total sampling. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics with the assistance of SPSS version 25, including prerequisite tests, simple linear regression, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that: (1) school culture has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance; (2) work motivation has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance; and (3) school culture and work motivation simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.701 indicates that 70.1% of the variation in teacher performance can be explained by school culture and work motivation, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. These findings imply that improving teacher performance can be effectively achieved through strengthening a conducive school culture and enhancing teachers’ work motivation in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The quality of learning in elementary schools is influenced by teachers’ professional competence and their ability to adopt digital technology; therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the effect of these variables on the quality of learning at State Elementary Schools of Bougenville IV Cluster, Ulubelu District. This study was aimed at determining the partial and simultaneous effects of professional competence and the ability to adopt digital technology on learning quality. A quantitative approach using a survey method was employed involving 83 teachers as respondents. Data were collected through closed-ended questionnaires and analyzed using normality tests, simple linear regression, and multiple linear regression. The results of the normality test indicated that all variables had significance values greater than 0.05, meaning that the data were normally distributed and met the requirements for parametric analysis. The findings revealed that professional competence had a positive and significant effect on learning quality with a regression coefficient of 0.970, a t-value of 6.960, and a significance level of < 0.001, while the ability to adopt digital technology also had a positive and significant effect with a significance value of < 0.05. Simultaneously, both variables had a positive and significant effect on learning quality as indicated by the F-test significance value of < 0.05. It was therefore concluded that the improvement of learning quality can be optimized through the simultaneous enhancement of teachers’ professional competence and their ability to adopt digital technology.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kepuasan kerja guru Pegawai Pemerintah dengan Perjanjian Kerja (PPPK) terhadap hasil rekrutmen, seleksi, dan penempatan di Kabupaten Tanggamus Tahun 2024, dengan memandang kepuasan sebagai hasil interaksi antara pengalaman mengikuti proses seleksi, persepsi terhadap keadilan dan transparansi kebijakan, serta kesesuaian penempatan dengan kompetensi dan latar belakang pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, angket terbuka, observasi, dan dokumentasi terhadap guru PPPK yang telah dinyatakan lulus seleksi dan ditempatkan pada satuan pendidikan dasar dan menengah pertama. Analisis data dilakukan secara tematik melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, pengkodean, dan penarikan kesimpulan, dengan uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses rekrutmen dan seleksi PPPK dipersepsikan telah berjalan relatif objektif, adil, dan transparan, terutama melalui penerapan sistem Computer Assisted Test (CAT), sementara penempatan guru pada umumnya sesuai dengan formasi, latar belakang pendidikan, dan kompetensi profesional sehingga mendukung adaptasi kerja dan kesiapan profesional guru. Namun demikian, transparansi substantif terkait mekanisme dan dasar pertimbangan kebijakan penempatan masih dipahami secara terbatas oleh sebagian informan. Temuan penelitian mengonfirmasi relevansi Person–Job Fit Theory, Equity Theory, dan Expectancy Theory dalam menjelaskan kepuasan kerja guru PPPK, serta memberikan implikasi bagi penguatan kebijakan rekrutmen dan penempatan guru PPPK yang lebih adil, transparan, dan berorientasi pada profesionalisme serta kesejahteraan guru.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Augmented Reality-based flipbook learning media for IPAS material and measure its effectiveness in increasing the learning motivation of third-grade elementary school students. The approach used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were third-grade students at Gisikdrono 02 Public Elementary School. Data collection instruments included expert validation questionnaires, motivation questionnaires, teacher and student response questionnaires, observations, and pretest and posttest tests. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively and statistically to see the increase in student learning motivation after the media was used. The results of the research revealed that the Augmented Reality-based flipbook media developed received a “very feasible” rating from subject matter experts and media experts. The implementation results showed that student learning motivation increased from 65% at the beginning to 88% after using the media, which indicates an increase in the learning motivation of third-grade students in IPAS learning. In addition, the pretest and posttest results and statistical tests also improved after using this AR Flipbook media. Based on the research findings, flipbook media integrated with Augmented Reality technology proved to be effective in encouraging learning motivation among third-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teacher strategies for managing classrooms through an effective outdoor learning approach at SD Alam Ungaran Semarang and to identify challenges and solutions in its implementation. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects were teachers selected using a purposive sampling method. Data collection techniques included semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while maintaining data validity through triangulation and member checking. The results showed that teachers implemented a planned classroom management strategy through positive discipline, utilizing the environment as a contextual learning medium, managing the outdoor learning environment, strengthening teacher-student relationships, and varying learning methods. These strategies were able to create a conducive learning atmosphere, increase student engagement, and maintain engagement during learning outside the classroom. The conclusions of this study confirm that the outdoor learning approach can function effectively as a classroom management strategy if systematically designed and implemented by teachers. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the need for the development of RIASEC quartet media as a career guidance media in improving career understanding according to the personality of class X and XII students at MAN Kepulauan Selayar. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection methods through in-depth interviews with counseling teachers. The results of the interview show that most students at MAN Kepulauan Selayar, especially classes X and XI have never received career guidance and personality tests that have not been evenly distributed. This means that career preparation is not optimal. In addition, the BK teacher argued that guidance and counseling services at school are still conventional with the lecture method and have not been supported by innovative media in helping students improve career understanding according to their personality. RIASEC quartet media is considered relevant because it displays the types of professions and their characteristics based on personality types that are easy to understand. This research shows that the development of RIASEC quartet media is important as an innovation in career guidance services to increase career understanding according to the personality of students. Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited number of studies that specifically analyze the comparison between the ADDIE instructional design model and the Dick & Carey model, even though both models play an important role in improving the quality of instructional planning. This study aims to analyze and compare the characteristics, development stages, and advantages of the two instructional design models in the development of learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research method. Data were obtained from various scientific literature sources such as books, journals, research articles, and academic documents that discuss instructional design models. The collected data were then analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis with a comparative approach to identify the similarities and differences between the ADDIE model and the Dick & Carey model. The results of the study show that both models apply a systematic approach in designing instruction, but they differ in terms of complexity and development structure. The ADDIE model has five main stages that are flexible and relatively simple, making it easier to apply in various learning contexts. Meanwhile, the Dick & Carey model consists of ten more detailed and comprehensive stages and emphasizes the integration of learning objectives, instructional strategies, materials, and evaluation. This study concludes that the selection of an instructional design model needs to be adjusted to the objectives and the complexity of the learning being designed. The findings of this study are expected to provide a theoretical contribution to the study of instructional design and serve as a practical reference for educators in selecting an appropriate instructional design model. Future research is recommended to conduct empirical studies to test the effectiveness of both models in classroom learning practices.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the extent to which the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with the STEM approach has an impact on the mathematical reasoning abilities of junior high school students, particularly in the subject of Two-Variable Linear Equation Systems (SPLDV). This study applied a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method and a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The research subjects were divided into two class groups, namely class VIII B as the experimental group that received learning through the STEM-based PBL model, while class VIII A acted as the control group that followed the learning process using conventional methods. The data collection tool used was an essay-type test, which was used to evaluate the level of students' mathematical reasoning abilities through the implementation of a pretest and posttest. Data processing and analysis were carried out using a series of statistical tests, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, Independent Sample t-tests, Paired Sample t-tests, and N-Gain calculations to determine the level of improvement in learning outcomes. The research findings showed that the average posttest scores of students in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group. Based on the results of the Independent Sample t-test, it was found that there was a significant difference in mathematical reasoning ability between the two groups. Meanwhile, the results of the Paired Sample t-test indicated a significant increase in mathematical reasoning ability in the experimental group after the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model combined with the STEM approach. In addition, the N-Gain calculation results show that the level of improvement in mathematical reasoning ability in the experimental group is categorized as less effective, although the improvement value is still higher than that of the control group. Therefore, the application of the STEM-based PBL model can be considered as an alternative learning strategy that has the potential to help develop students' mathematical reasoning abilities
