Abstract

The high cost of urban living and the strained social relationships between incoming students and residents around campus are issues that require innovative solutions. Amidst these conditions, student marbut are often viewed as mere mosque guards, even though they have great potential as agents of social change. In this regard, this community service was conducted to examine the dual motivations and socio-religious impacts on student marbut in the neighborhood surrounding the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Using a thematic qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with four active marbut. The results show that the decision to become a marbut is supported by complementary motivations: intrinsically, through the value of ubudiyah (obligatory worship) and the development of soft skills, and extrinsically, through free housing facilities that serve as hygiene factors, reducing urban financial burdens. Despite facing dual academic and operational burdens, the marbut interpret this role as a social laboratory that fosters independence and resilience. Furthermore, the presence of student marbut has proven capable of revitalizing the social function of mosques, one of which is through interactive Qur'anic teaching that effectively breaks down social distances between communities, thus creating a sustainable mutualistic symbiosis. Based on these findings, a formal strategic partnership between campus and mosque administrators is recommended to strengthen the sustainability of the marbut's role as an agent of change.

Abstract

The growing trend of healthy lifestyles and increasing awareness of health conditions such as celiac disease have driven global demand for gluten-free food products. Al Muawanah Cooperative in Tasikmalaya has great potential in utilizing local resources such as cassava, bananas, and breadfruit to create market opportunities. This article aims to design a Technopreneurship-based business model for producing gluten-free flour among cooperative members. The Technopreneurship approach is integrated throughout the value chain, from production using standardized, simple equipment to digital marketing through social media and e-commerce platforms to effective cooperative management. The implementation method consists of three main stages: preparation (feasibility study and training), implementation (production and marketing), and evaluation. The results of the discussion indicate that this model not only has the potential to increase members’ incomes through the sale of high-value-added products but also to empower them with digital and entrepreneurial skills relevant to the modern economy. It is concluded that adopting a Technopreneurship concept in gluten-free flour processing is a feasible and sustainable strategy to enhance the cooperative's competitiveness and economic independence.

Abstract

Algal bloom in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) culture systems based on Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) can degrade water quality and increase the risk of fish stress. This community service program aimed to implement a multi-stage filtration system as an eco-friendly and energy-efficient solution to control microalgae growth and improve water quality in Nile tilapia culture ponds. The program was conducted through a Biology Study Program consultancy project involving lecturers, students, and the Padasuka Nila Cimahi aquaculture partner. The filtration system combined mechanical and biological filtration using fishing nets, gravel, kaldness K1, filter brushes, coral stones, and zeolite. Water quality parameters, including pH, Electrical Conductivity (EC), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and total ammonia, were evaluated before and after system implementation. The results showed that the filtration system reduced pH from 9.18 to 7.60, EC from 284 µS/cm to 212 µS/cm, TDS from 147 ppm to 115 ppm, and total ammonia from 0.5 mg/L to 0.18 mg/L. In addition, pond water became visually clearer, and microalgae growth decreased significantly. The multi-stage filtration system proved to be an effective, low-cost, and sustainable approach for improving water quality in small- to medium-scale Nile tilapia aquaculture systems.
