Abstract

This study analyzes the historical significance and long-term impacts of the French Revolution (1789) and the Russian Revolution (1917) on the evolution of human rights, democracy, and ideological frameworks in Europe and their contextual adaptation in Indonesia. Using a comparative-historical method, the research examines primary historical documents, scholarly monographs, and legal texts to trace how these revolutions dismantled absolutist regimes and catalyzed paradigm shifts in political legitimacy, social justice, and individual freedoms. Findings indicate that the French Revolution laid the philosophical and institutional groundwork for modern liberal democracy and universal human rights, epitomized by the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen (1789). Conversely, the Russian Revolution advanced a collectivist, socialist vision of rights, prioritizing economic equality and class emancipation. In the Indonesian context, human rights are interpreted not as a secular construct but as a divine endowment, embedded in Pancasila and local wisdom thus demonstrating a dynamic synthesis of universal principles and national-cultural specificity. This article highlights the enduring relevance of these revolutions in shaping 21st-century discourse on rights, governance, and ideological pluralism.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the European colonization process and the way people moved from time to time between the 15th and 19th centuries. This research focuses on important things such as how economic needs and changes in world state power influenced many people who moved, thus affecting the population arrangement and colonial government systems in various regions. To conduct this research, the researchers used secondary sources such as journals and books. They also collected data by reviewing various records such as trade records, people movement records, and reports from colonial governments, which are stored in places like VOC archives and British East India Company archives. The analysis methods used include qualitative against quality against content model making and content model making to describe the direction as well as the amount of people movement, using Python program with network graphs. The research results show that important events in the Ottoman Turkey after 1453 encouraged initial sailing activities. By 1900, the number of Europeans who moved to colonial areas had reached more than 2 million people. This built mixed culture societies but also strengthened inequalities between groups. The research conclusion shows that the colonization process triggered two-way human movements that accelerated global world development, but also left roots of modern inequality. Therefore, further research with number-based models is needed to obtain more accurate and predictable historical understanding.

Abstract

The Protestant Reformation was a pivotal 16th-century event that fundamentally reshaped European society. Emerging during the transition from the Middle Ages to the Modern Era, this movement arose from a severe crisis of credibility within the Roman Catholic Church. This article examines the historical precursors, the central roles of figures like Martin Luther and John Calvin, and the subsequent social shifts. By utilizing a historical-qualitative approach based on the source text, this study highlights how the decline of clerical monopoly and the rise of vernacular literacy led to the formation of modern nation-states. The findings suggest that the Reformation was a catalyst for religious individualism and significant structural changes across the European continent.

Abstract

This article discusses the entry and development of European cultural influences in Indonesia from the arrival of the Portuguese to the Dutch colonial period and its impact on social and cultural changes. The expansion of Europe driven by economic, political, and religious interests brought about changes in the fields of trade, administration, education, art, and culture. However, the people of the archipelago do not accept these influences passively, but respond to them through the process of acculturation. This process gave birth to the Indis culture as a form of mixing European and local cultures reflected in architecture, lifestyle, art, traditions, and culinary. This article emphasizes that the colonial cultural heritage in Indonesia is the result of cultural interaction and negotiation that forms Indonesia's multicultural identity.

Abstract

This article aims to examine how community-based business practices play a role in building the entrepreneurial spirit of the community, especially in groups that have local economic potential but still face limitations in business management, digital literacy, and the courage to take on business opportunities. This study uses a literature study method with a qualitative descriptive approach through the analysis of various national journals published in the last five years and discusses entrepreneurship, community empowerment, and community-based business development. The results of the study show that (1) active community involvement in the business community is able to increase the entrepreneurial spirit through strengthening social capital, cooperation, trust, and the formation of an environment that supports innovation and courage in doing business. (2) Entrepreneurship training, business assistance, financial recording, use of digital technology, and social media-based marketing have been proven to improve managerial skills, productivity, and competitiveness of business actors. In addition, support in the form of product certification, women's capacity building, and social entrepreneurship development also expand market access and create more sustainable economic opportunities. The findings of the study show that community-based business practices not only function as a means of increasing income, but also become an effective social learning medium in forming entrepreneurial characters that are independent, creative, innovative, collaborative, and adaptive to changes in the economic environment. This study concludes that strengthening community-based business practices needs to be continuously supported through synergy between the government, educational institutions, the business world, and the community to create a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem. The novelty of this article lies in the presentation of a comprehensive study of the role of community-based business practices as a means of forming an entrepreneurial spirit that is not only oriented towards economic profits, but also on strengthening social capacity, community empowerment, and sustainable local economic development.
