Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Flipped Digital Classroom (FDC) method in enhancing social science education by integrating digital-based learning through Google Classroom, Zoom Meeting, and social media. Using a quasi-experimental design, the study compares the FDC group, which received technology-based flipped learning, with a control group that followed a conventional lecture approach. The results indicate that the FDC method significantly improves students' social science learning outcomes, with an average score of 73.49 compared to 67.72 in the control group (p = 0.0). Student engagement, measured through behavioral, emotional, and cognitive aspects, also positively contributes to learning outcomes, particularly among students with high engagement levels. These findings confirm that FDC has the potential to revolutionize social science education by enhancing student engagement and achievement. Therefore, it is recommended that educators implement FDC and that schools support it with adequate training and technological infrastructure.

Abstract

Religious pluralism is both a challenge and an opportunity in an increasingly globalized world, especially in the context of interfaith education. Ethical foundations and epistemological perspectives are very important for building inclusive and reflective interfaith dialogue. This study aims to critically analyze the ethical foundations of religious pluralism from an epistemological perspective and their relevance to interfaith education in the era of globalization. The method used is qualitative with a comprehensive literature study approach, involving an in-depth study of philosophical, theological, and related academic research works. The results of the study reveal that the ethical foundations of religious pluralism must be based on the principles of universal humanism, respect for individual epistemic rights, and critical reflection on claims of absolute truth. Effective interfaith education requires a curriculum and pedagogy that integrate these values in an inclusive and dialogical manner, so as to build attitudes of empathy, openness, and multireligious awareness. These findings provide theoretical and practical contributions to the development of religious education that is able to answer global complexity by forming a generation that is able to live side by side in harmony and civilized.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of the fintech industry has introduced significant legal challenges in resolving disputes, particularly in digital financial services (DFS). Traditional litigation methods are often inadequate in addressing the unique complexities of fintech, such as cross-border transactions, data breaches, and the use of smart contracts. This research aims to examine the role of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms in mitigating these legal challenges, with a focus on improving the efficiency and fairness of fintech dispute resolution processes. The study conducts a comprehensive literature review to explore the use of ADR methods, including Online Dispute Resolution (ODR), mediation, and blockchain arbitration, within the fintech ecosystem. The findings reveal that ADR offers flexible, efficient, and cost-effective solutions compared to traditional litigation, particularly for small-value and cross-border disputes. However, the study also highlights challenges, such as jurisdictional complexities, enforceability issues, and the need for standardized ADR processes tailored to fintech’s decentralized nature. Blockchain technology and smart contracts show potential in automating dispute resolution but face barriers in legal recognition. The research emphasizes the importance of developing international regulatory frameworks and harmonized ADR standards to support the global fintech ecosystem. Future studies should focus on empirical evaluations of ADR mechanisms, especially their effectiveness in different jurisdictions and consumer protection settings.

Abstract

Tanimbar weaving, especially the Tunis motif, is one of Indonesia's cultural riches that is rich in historical, philosophical, and aesthetic values. This study explores the symbolic meaning of the Tunis motif in relation to aesthetic values and its application in fashion design at the Fashion Design Department at Ciputra University Surabaya. The Tunis motif, which originates from the Tanimbar Islands, has a deep cultural meaning, representing strength, direction, and protection. This motif is inspired by traditional hunting tools, bows and arrows, which symbolize the readiness and alertness of the Tanimbar people. This study uses Charles Pierce Sander's Triadic Interplay theory, which divides signs into three categories: Representamen (sign), Object (sign reference), and Interpretant (understanding). Through this approach, this study reveals how the Tunis motif functions more than just a decorative element, which acts as a medium for cultural expression and identity. This study applies the Tunis motif in modern fashion design, examining how this motif enhances aesthetic value while preserving cultural heritage. The integration of motifs into contemporary clothing designs not only enriches fashion, but also strengthens the cultural identity of the Tanimbar people. This study highlights the importance of cultural preservation through fashion design innovation and the role of local artisans in the global creative economy. The application of motifs in fashion also supports economic empowerment and sustainability in the creative industry, with potential benefits for the local economy.

Abstract

Social and economic inequalities in local communities are significant challenges in achieving sustainable development, particularly in rural areas. This study aims to evaluate village policies designed to address these inequalities at the local level. A qualitative approach, combining document analysis, in-depth interviews, and field observations, was used to collect data from village development reports, policy documents, and interviews with village officials, community leaders, and residents in several regions of Indonesia, including Central Java, West Sumatra, and South Sulawesi. The data were analyzed using content analysis to assess the effectiveness of these policies and their impact on reducing inequality. The study finds that village policies such as the allocation of Village Funds (DD), community-based economic empowerment initiatives, and social protection programs have played a crucial role in alleviating social and economic disparities. For example, the implementation of the Village Fund has facilitated improvements in infrastructure, including the construction of roads, access to clean water, and educational facilities, directly enhancing the community’s quality of life. Moreover, community-driven economic programs, such as the establishment of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), have led to job creation and increased household incomes. However, the study also identifies significant challenges, including limited governance capacity at the village level, insufficient community participation, and weak supervision of policy implementation. This research concludes that while village policies have the potential to reduce inequality, their success depends on good governance, increased community involvement, and stronger oversight mechanisms. Concrete recommendations include enhancing the capacity of village governments through training in financial management and project planning, utilizing digital technology for transparent budgeting, and integrating village policies more effectively with national development programs to ensure sustainable outcomes.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the adoption of digital catechesis, especially in dioceses with limited access to in-person faith formation. This study explores the effectiveness of interactive pedagogy within digital catechesis in the Diocese of Ruteng-Flores-NTT during the post-COVID-19 new normal. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were gathered from structured interviews with catechists, clergy, and young Catholics, as well as participant observation of Zoom sessions, WhatsApp discussions, and YouTube content. The findings reveal that interactive digital methods—particularly Zoom-based catechesis—promoted higher engagement, dialogue, and deeper faith reflection, especially among youth. However, structural challenges such as poor internet connectivity and lack of catechist training limited full participation. The study highlights the importance of symbolic language, participatory learning methods, and enhanced digital competencies for catechists. These insights contribute to future strategies for effective and context-sensitive digital catechesis.

Abstract

This study investigates the conceptual and practical tensions in implementing democratic education within Indonesia’s Pancasila Student Profile (P5) program by recontextualizing John Dewey’s theory of Democracy and Education. The research addresses the core problem of ideological and institutional misalignment between Dewey’s participatory ideals and the hierarchical, norm-driven structures prevalent in Indonesian schools. Employing a qualitative literature-based approach, the study analyzes 43 selected primary and secondary sources published in the past five years using thematic categorization and interpretative analysis across three dimensions: socio-cultural, pedagogical, and institutional. Findings reveal critical gaps between the democratic ideals of student participation and the top-down school culture; between the goals of democratic education and the applied instructional strategies; and between policy ambitions and fragmented implementation. The study contributes theoretically by adapting Dewey’s progressive educational thought to the collectivist, value-oriented context of Pancasila. Practically, it proposes policy recommendations such as teacher capacity development, institutional reform, and participatory learning environments. The research emphasizes that meaningful democratic education in Indonesia requires not only curriculum innovation but also systemic alignment between educational values, institutional structures, and cultural realities. This recontextualization offers insights for scholars, educators, and policymakers seeking to localize global educational theories within national ideological frameworks.
