Abstract

Anemia is a medical condition in which the number of red blood cells (erythrocytes) or hemoglobin levels in the blood are below normal. The phenomenon of anemia in remote areas such as Seko Barat can be explained by several main factors. According to Guyton and Hall (2016), limited access to health services in remote areas can hinder early detection and treatment of anemia. The type of research used is a Cross Sectional Study. The population in this study were pregnant women who were able to check themselves at the Seko Balralt Health Center. The population in this study was 34 people. The sample size used in this study used a total sampling technique, namely by taking all members of the population as samples. By testing using the chi-square technique, p = 0.013 is obtained, which is smaller than α = 0.05, this means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, there is a relationship between body weight and the incidence of anemia at the Seko Barat Health Center, North Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi.

Abstract

Shift work is an essential aspect of healthcare services, particularly in facilities such as the BUA Health Center. However, it has been widely documented that shift work can disrupt sleep patterns, leading to significant health issues for workers, including nurses. This study aims to examine the relationship between shift work and sleep pattern disturbances among nurses at the BUA Health Center. Utilizing a qualitative approach and a literature study methodology, this research explores existing academic literature, case studies, and surveys from healthcare workers to understand the extent of sleep disturbances among nurses working various shifts. The analysis identifies that irregular sleep patterns, sleep deprivation, and poor quality of sleep are prevalent among nurses working rotating or night shifts. These disturbances have been shown to negatively affect both physical health and mental well-being, contributing to increased fatigue, decreased cognitive function, and a higher risk of burnout. Furthermore, the literature suggests that shift work impacts job performance and overall work satisfaction. This study underscores the need for effective strategies to mitigate the negative effects of shift work, including improved scheduling, better sleep hygiene practices, and organizational interventions. Recommendations include more flexible work schedules and the incorporation of regular sleep assessments to monitor the health of nurses. This research calls for further studies to develop interventions and policies that address the specific needs of healthcare professionals in shift-based roles.

Abstract

Forgiveness is a complex psychological and spiritual process that is very important in the lives of adolescents who are full of interpersonal dynamics and the search for self-identity. This study aims to understand how religiosity, self-esteem, and empathy contribute to the tendency to forgive in adolescents, and how social support moderates this relationship. In the context of Indonesian culture, religious values are often the foundation for moral decision-making, including in the forgiveness process. High self-esteem allows adolescents to respond to interpersonal conflicts with better emotional regulation, while empathy opens up a space for understanding the motives of others that allows forgiveness to develop. This study uses a qualitative approach with a systematic literature study method, reviewing relevant scientific publications from 2013–2023 from various leading academic databases. The results of the review indicate that the three psychosocial variables—religiosity, self-esteem, and empathy—have a positive relationship with forgiveness, and this effect is strengthened by the presence of social support from family, peers, and teachers. Social support acts as a moderator that strengthens the relationship between variables by creating a sense of security, acceptance, and emotional validation that supports the forgiveness process. These findings emphasize the importance of a holistic approach and community-based interventions in developing character education programs for adolescents. This article provides a strong conceptual basis for educators, counselors, and policy makers to build strategies that support the development of forgiveness capacity among Indonesian adolescents.

Abstract

Public service advertisements (PSAs) play an important role in conveying social messages to shape people's behavior positively. However, the effectiveness of these messages is highly dependent on the persuasive language strategies used. This study aims to analyze persuasive language strategies in public service advertisements from a pragmatic perspective, focusing on the use of metaphors, repetitions, imperatives, and language styles that are appropriate to the social and cultural context. The method used is an explanatory literature study, which collects and analyzes data from various journal articles, books, and related research reports. Data were collected through documentation studies, then analyzed using a qualitative content analysis approach to identify patterns and main themes in persuasive language strategies. The results of the study indicate that the use of metaphors and repetitions consistently increases the emotional appeal and memory of the audience, while the use of imperatives and framing helps strengthen the urgency of the message. This pragmatic approach allows advertisements to adapt messages to the social and cultural values of the community, thereby strengthening the effectiveness of communication. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how language strategies can influence audience perceptions and behavior in the context of public service advertisements, as well as the importance of considering cultural context in designing effective messages.

Abstract

Anxiety in pregnant women is a common problem and can have negative impacts on maternal and fetal health. Women experience anxiety during pregnancy which can increase the risk of complications such as postpartum depression, premature birth, and impaired infant development. Non-pharmacological interventions such as prenatal gentle yoga and dhikr therapy have been shown to be effective separately in reducing anxiety levels. This study aims to analyze the effect of the combination of the two interventions on the level of anxiety in pregnant women. This study used a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design ( one group pretest and posttest design ) without a control group. The study was conducted in June-July 2024 in the working area of the UPTD Bara Permai Health Center, Palopo City. The sample consisted of 26 pregnant women in the second and third trimesters who were selected using the accidental sampling technique. The intervention was a combination of prenatal gentle yoga and dhikr therapy for four weeks. The instrument used was the Perinatal Anxiety Screening Scale (PASS) to measure anxiety levels before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test . The average level of anxiety before the intervention was 28.69 (SD=7.504) and decreased to 20.81 (SD=8.551) after the intervention. The results of the statistical test showed a significant effect (p=0.000) on the level of anxiety of pregnant women before and after being given a combination of prenatal gentle yoga and dhikr therapy intervention. The combination of prenatal gentle yoga and dhikr therapy has been proven effective in reducing anxiety levels in pregnant women. This intervention can be used as an alternative non-pharmacological approach that is safe, easy to implement, and low-cost to overcome anxiety during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters approaching delivery.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Person-Organization Fit (P-O Fit), Person-Job Fit (P-J Fit), and Perceived Organizational Support (POS) on employee performance, as well as to evaluate the mediating role of job satisfaction among permanent employees in the banking sector in Jakarta. The research uses a quantitative explanatory approach with a survey method, involving 300 bank employees in Jakarta as respondents. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with 5,000 bootstrap resampling. The results show that POS has both a direct and indirect significant effect on employee performance through job satisfaction. P-O Fit directly affects performance but does not significantly influence job satisfaction. Conversely, P-J Fit significantly affects job satisfaction but does not have a direct impact on performance. Job satisfaction is proven to be a significant mediator in the relationships between P-J Fit and POS with performance. These findings highlight the importance of organizational support and job fit in enhancing employee satisfaction and performance. The practical implication of this study suggests that human resource strategies in the banking sector should focus on increasing job satisfaction through alignment and organizational support approaches as a strategic effort to improve employee performance.
