Abstract

This study aims to describe the instructional leadership strategies of school principals in the era of elementary education digitalization, to describe the forms of teachers' instructional innovation in the digital era, and to analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors of principals' instructional leadership at SDN 18 Deteng Deteng. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design and was conducted at SDN 18 Deteng Deteng. The participants consisted of the principal and teachers, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal three main results. First, the principal's instructional leadership strategy was realized through digitally oriented lesson planning, including the formulation of the school's vision-mission and digital lesson plans, routine academic supervision conducted every semester, monitoring and evaluation of learning, and the strengthening of academic culture through continuous teacher professional development. Second, teachers' instructional innovation was reflected in the use of digital technology such as Canva and YouTube, increased pedagogical creativity, strengthened digital literacy, and the implementation of learning that is more adaptive to students' needs. Third, supporting factors for instructional leadership included the principal's commitment, teacher motivation, and the availability of learning facilities, while inhibiting factors included limited technological facilities (a restricted number of LCD projectors), unstable internet connectivity, and uneven digital literacy among teachers. The study concludes that principals' instructional leadership plays a significant role in promoting teachers' instructional innovation, thereby enhancing the quality of learning to become more creative, effective, and aligned with the demands of 21st-century education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of applying discussion techniques through group guidance services to improve the self-concept of students in Class VIII F at UPTD SMP Negeri 11 Naimata, Kupang City, in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study employed a quantitative research approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of 28 students in Class VIII F, with a research sample of 7 students. The data collection instrument used was a self-concept questionnaire. The data analysis technique employed was a paired-samples t-test. The results showed that the provision of group guidance services using discussion techniques was effective in improving the self-concept of students in Class VIII F at SMP Negeri 11 Naimata, Kupang City, during the 2025/2026 academic year.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) the profile of bullying behavior among Grade XG students at SMA Negeri 4 Kupang in the 2025/2026 academic year, and (2) the implications of the profile of bullying behavior among Grade XG students at SMA Negeri 4 Kupang in the 2025/2026 academic year for personal-social guidance. This study employed a quantitative descriptive research design. The population consisted of 36 Grade XG students at SMA Negeri 4 Kupang in the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample comprised all 36 students. The sampling technique employed was saturated sampling. The data were analyzed using measures of central tendency. The results showed that the mean score of bullying behavior among Grade XG students at SMA Negeri 4 Kupang in the 2025/2026 academic year was 143.02, which fell within the score range of 126–163. This indicates that the level of bullying behavior among Grade XG students at SMA Negeri 4 Kupang in the 2025/2026 academic year was categorized as high.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan lagu berbahasa Inggris dalam meningkatkan keterampilan pengucapan serta meningkatkan motivasi belajar pada pembelajar EFL. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan metode campuran (mixed methods) di SMPN 1 Panca Rijang pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Sebanyak 22 siswa kelas IX terlibat sebagai partisipan. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui tes pengucapan pra-tes dan pasca-tes, sedangkan data kualitatif dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur dengan lima siswa yang memperoleh skor pasca-tes tertinggi. Analisis kuantitatif dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji t berpasangan (paired sample t-test). Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam skor pengucapan siswa, dengan skor rata-rata meningkat dari 8,18 pada pra-tes menjadi 12,91 pada pasca-tes (selisih rata-rata = 4,727, t(21) = 18,44, p = 1,89 × 10⁻¹⁴). Karena nilai p jauh di bawah tingkat signifikansi 0,05, hipotesis nol ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif diterima, yang menegaskan bahwa penggunaan lagu berbahasa Inggris secara signifikan meningkatkan performa pengucapan siswa. Temuan kualitatif menunjukkan respons positif yang kuat dan motivasi belajar yang tinggi dari siswa. Para partisipan menyatakan bahwa pembelajaran pengucapan melalui lagu lebih menyenangkan, mudah diikuti, dan sangat memotivasi. Mereka juga menyebutkan bahwa irama dan pengulangan dalam lagu membantu mereka meniru pengucapan seperti penutur asli dengan lebih percaya diri serta mengurangi kecemasan. Sebagai kesimpulan, lagu berbahasa Inggris merupakan media pembelajaran yang powerful, menarik, dan efektif yang dapat meningkatkan akurasi pengucapan sekaligus meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran EFL. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pengintegrasian lagu sebagai strategi inovatif dalam pengajaran pengucapan.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the forms of aggressive behavior, the contributing factors, and the impacts of aggressive behavior among seventh-grade students at UPTD SMPN 10 Kupang in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. The research subjects consisted of 10 students who exhibited aggressive behavior, one Guidance and Counseling teacher, one homeroom teacher, and one school principal, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis employed the Miles and Huberman model, which included data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was established through triangulation and member checking. The findings showed that the forms of aggressive behavior included physical aggression, verbal aggression, anger, and hostility, with verbal aggression being the most frequently exhibited form among the students.

Abstract

Transformasi pedagogis di abad ke-21 menuntut pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris sebagai Bahasa Asing (EFL) beradaptasi dengan perkembangan literasi digital dan kebutuhan berpikir kritis yang semakin kompleks. Kurikulum tidak lagi hanya berorientasi pada penguasaan tata bahasa dan keterampilan berbahasa dasar; kurikulum juga harus menanamkan literasi digital, berpikir kritis, dan kemampuan untuk berpartisipasi secara etis dalam ekosistem digital global. Artikel konseptual ini mengembangkan model integratif yang menghubungkan literasi digital dan budaya berpikir kritis ke dalam desain kurikulum EFL modern. Melalui sintesis komprehensif teori multiliterasi, konstruktivisme, pendekatan pedagogi digital, dan studi empiris terkini, artikel ini menyajikan kerangka kerja konseptual yang memposisikan literasi digital (akses, evaluasi, kreasi, dan komunikasi digital) dan budaya berpikir kritis (analisis, evaluasi, refleksi, argumentasi) sebagai inti kurikulum EFL yang responsif terhadap tantangan abad ke-21. Temuan konseptual ini menyoroti kesenjangan penelitian dalam kurangnya integrasi sistemik kedua kompetensi ini ke dalam kurikulum EFL di banyak konteks negara berkembang, termasuk Indonesia. Integrasi budaya berpikir kritis ke dalam kurikulum EFL dan strategi pedagogis abad ke-21 merupakan dasar fundamental untuk menumbuhkan pembelajar yang reflektif, argumentatif, dan adaptif yang siap menghadapi tantangan global. Artikel ini merumuskan model konseptual, proposisi teoretis, implikasi pedagogis, dan arahan penelitian lebih lanjut yang dapat menjadi referensi bagi para pengembang kurikulum, peneliti ELT, dan praktisi pendidikan tinggi.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the role of parents in supporting children with special needs in Larantuka Subdistrict, East Flores Regency, and its implications for counseling children with special needs. This study employed a qualitative descriptive research design. The subjects of this study were eight parents of children with special needs. Data were collected through structured interviews. Data analysis included data collection, data reduction, and data presentation. The results indicate that parents play a crucial role in supporting the development of children with special needs. This role is manifested through parents’ active involvement as primary caregivers, advocates, sources of information, teachers, and diagnosticians.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of implementing the self-management technique through group counseling in reducing academic procrastination behavior among students in classes VIIIC and VIIIE at SMPK St. Theresia Kupang during the 2025/2026 academic year. The method used in this study was quantitative descriptive with a pre-experimental design, specifically a one-group pretest-posttest design. The instruments used in this study were an academic procrastination questionnaire and an intervention guideline. Data were analyzed using the paired samples t-test. The results of the analysis showed that the calculated t-value was 16.669, while the t-table value at a significance level of 0.05 was 2.01505. Thus, the calculated t-value was greater than the t-table value. This indicates that the self-management technique through group counseling was effective in reducing academic procrastination behavior among students in classes VIIIC and VIIIE at SMPK St. Theresia Kupang during the 2025/2026 academic year.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of multicultural education on students’ tolerance attitudes at SMP Negeri 16 Kota Kupang in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study employed a quantitative research approach. The population consisted of 163 eighth-grade students, with a sample of 50 students selected using the simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire, and the data were analyzed using a simple linear regression test. The results showed that the calculated t-value was greater than the t-table value (2.425 > 1.684), with a significance value of 0.020 < 0.05. These findings indicate that multicultural education has a significant effect on the tolerance attitudes of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 16 Kota Kupang in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Abstract

This study examines early marriage among adolescents in Oenino Village, Oenino Subdistrict, South Central TimorRegency, and its implications for family guidance and counseling programs. This practice remains widespread and constitutes aserious social problem in the area. The study addressed three questions: (1) what factors cause early marriage among adolescents; (2) what impact early marriage has on their marital, family, health, psychological, and social conditions; and (3) how early marriage implicates family guidance and counseling programs. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with 20research subjects selected through purposive sampling: 10 adolescents who underwent early marriage, 9 parents of the couples,and 1 village official. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and documentation study, then analyzed throughdata reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with source triangulation used to establish data validity. The results showthat early marriage in Oenino Village is driven by three interrelated factors: family economic hardship, weak parental supervisionthat in some cases led to premarital pregnancy, and strong customary norms that regard early marriage as ordinary. Earlymarriage was found to affect marital relations through conflict and domestic violence, to increase the family's economic burden,to raise health risks such as postpartum hemorrhage and child stunting, to cause psychological pressure following school dropout, and to restrict adolescents'social freedom, particularly for girls. These findings imply the need for a planned and structured Family Guidance and Counseling program, delivered through collaboration among the village government, customary and religious leaders, and related health and education institutions.
