Abstract

The development of Science and Technology (IPTEK) demands learning activities that also involve technology. Especially now that the world of education has been filled by the Alpha generation who are very close to digital skills, so the teaching materials used must also support students to collaborate with technology. This study aims to develop teaching materials for Arabic oral proficiency grade 1 elementary school using QR Code and describe the characteristics of the product developed. This research uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with Thiagarajan's 4D development model which has four stages, namely define, design, development, and disseminate. The results of the development of this research are teaching materials containing QR Codes and animated images about hobbies to interpret expressions or sentences delivered. The presentation of learning activities presented is in accordance with the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) that has been prepared. The teaching materials contain eight criteria, namely interactive and innovative, multimedia presentation, flexibility, collaborative, based on learning implementation plans, continuous, oral approach, and parental immersion.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of Google Translate in Arabic language learning among Grade X students at Madrasah Aliyah Mutiara Auliya Medan, to analyze students' perceptions of its effectiveness as an assistive medium, and to examine its contribution to the development of four language skills namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through passive participatory observation, semi-structured in-depth interviews with six students and one Arabic language teacher, and documentation. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, comprising data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that: (1) students use Google Translate intensively outside the classroom with an instant-use pattern of translating full sentences or paragraphs; (2) students perceive Google Translate as effective in helping them understand Arabic vocabulary and texts quickly, although translation results are not always accurate, particularly in grammatical and contextual aspects; (3) Google Translate contributes most to reading skills and slightly to writing skills, but its impact on listening and speaking skills is very limited. The study concludes that the use of Google Translate potentially creates dependency that may hinder the development of students' critical thinking and independent Arabic language learning if not wisely guided by teachers. Abstract

This research was motivated by the low vocabulary mastery (mufradat) of students in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, caused by learning activities that still focus on rote memorization and the minimal use of engaging media. The purpose of this study is to develop the Shaidul Kalimat (Word Scavenger Hunt) game to improve vocabulary mastery, to describe the feasibility level of the game based on the validation results of material experts, media experts, and practitioners, and to describe the effectiveness of the Shaidul Kalimat game in enhancing students’ vocabulary mastery. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research involved 24 fifth-grade students and three validators who acted as a material expert, a media expert, and an education practitioner. Data were collected through interviews, observations, expert validation, and pre-test and post-test assessments. The results showed that the developed product — the Shaidul Kalimat game — consists of (a) learning media, namely material posters, playing sheets, and answer cards; and (b) game instruction steps. It was proven to be feasible and applicable in learning activities to support contextual and enjoyable vocabulary mastery. The media received a feasibility score of 94.28%, categorized as very feasible. The effectiveness results, based on the comparison of pre-test and post-test scores, showed an N-Gain value of 0.84, categorized as high. Moreover, the students’ response rate of 91.8% indicated a positive evaluation. Thus, the developed media was proven to be valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

This research aims to map the dominant themes of undergraduate theses in the Arabic Language Education Study Program at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung from 2021 to 2024 using corpus linguistic analysis. Employing a mixed methods approach with an explanatory sequential design, the abstracts of student theses were collected from the e-thesis repository, converted to text files, and analyzed using AntConc to identify keyword frequency and thematic distribution. The quantitative findings were then interpreted through literature review to contextualize the trends. The results reveal seven major themes aligning with the official thesis writing guidelines: Instructional Design, Learning Materials, Teaching Methods, Learning Media, Learning Evaluation, Language Environment, and Human Resources in Learning. Among these, Teaching Methods consistently emerged as the most dominant theme each year, followed by Learning Media and Learning Evaluation in specific years. This pattern reflects students’ growing interest in innovative and effective teaching strategies, as well as the integration of technology in Arabic language education. The study contributes a comprehensive thematic map that can guide students and supervisors in selecting relevant and up-to-date thesis topics, while also supporting the diversification and modernization of research in Arabic language education.
