Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical connection processes of Junior High School students in solving open-ended problems. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. The data of this research were obtained through tests and interviews. The mathematical connections processes can be seen when students solve open ended mathematics story problems. The connection processes are based on three types of connections, namely concepts connections, procedures connection, and modelling connections. The research concluded that students can use all known information and connect the information so that they get the solution. The process of students’ mathematical connection is happened when the students were able to change the mathematical story problem into mathematical model and to connect mathematical concepts and procedures. However, in general, students only solve one solution even the problem was open ended. The reason is that the students rarely have experience in solving open ended mathematics problem.

Abstract

The purpose of this research and development is to produce a culture based Cangkruk'an peer counseling training manual that can be used by peer counselors at school. Research and development uses the Borg and Gall 10 model and has been adjusted to the needs of researchers to 7 and uses quantitative analysis of the agreement of experts from the Grinelle model. First, preliminary studies, planning, making initial products in the form of manuals for peer counselors, validation expert tests, namely learning media experts, get an assessment percentage of 81% (very high) in terms of graphics, product content, and language. Second, two experts test Guidance and Counseling with an average percentage score of 73% (high) in terms of accuracy of usefulness and feasibility. Third, the validation of the cangkruk'an cultural experts got an average score of 92% (very high) in terms of accuracy and clarity. Fourth, the validation of the guidance and counsling Material expert is by five Counselor’s getting an average score of 64% accuracy (moderate). It can be concluded that all the results of the assessment from the validator of this guide product are in the Good category so they are suitable for use and continue to the next stage.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce an electrochemical contextual chemoentrepreneurship module that is validated according to the criteria of BSNP materials eligibility, namely content eligibility, linguistic feasibility, presentation feasibility, and the feasibility of the graft and knowing Effectiveness of student learning outcomes. The development model adopted the Model 4-D with the stages of defining, designing, developing, and desimination. Data on the feasibility of teaching materials is obtained from content and material validation, individual test, field test is limited while the effectiveness data is obtained from the difference learning outcomes between the experimental and the control group. The validation and test results are obtained as follows (1) the average value of the content expert validator and learning material is very decent criteria, (2) individual trials with excellent criteria, and (3) limited field trials is Very good criteria. The development module is well-deserved to be used as a learning resource and effectively improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the correlation of metacognitive knowledge and problem solving abilities of students who are taught with the Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) and Verification learning model on buffer solution material. This study uses a test instrument at the end of learning. The research sample was conducted in two research classes at SMAN 1 Karangrejo Tulungagung. The test instrument used consisted of 2 types of tests with the topic of buffer solution material in the category of metacognitive knowledge and problem solving abilities with instrument reliability values with Cronbach alpha of 0.779 and 0.728 with high categories. Pearson product-moment correlation test resul1ts in research data indicate a strong correlation between metacognitive knowledge and problem solving ability with (rcount = +0954) with the most influential metacognitive component, conditional knowledge (rcount = +0.802).
