Abstract

This research aims to improve the science literacy skills of prospective biology teachers by linking the concept of biodiversity with disaster mitigation efforts using a continuing education approach. This study also looks at the ability of prospective biology teachers to design and implement effective mitigation measures. This type of research is a descriptive research with a combination method with a sequential explanatory design. The sampling technique uses a simple random sampling technique. The sample in this study consisted of 60 prospective biology teachers.  The findings of this study are about the important role of continuing education in preparing future generations to face global environmental challenges. The results of the study were obtained from the results of the science literacy test, namely in the Content component of 83.5%, Process by 81%, and Context by 79% in the three components are included in the high category, it can be concluded that through the improvement of science literacy, prospective biology teachers are able to design and implement disaster mitigation measures on biodiversity. Optimalisasi Keterampilan Literasi Sains untuk Mitigasi Bencana pada Keanekaragaman Hayati: Pendekatan Pendidikan Berkelanjutan ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan literasi sains calon guru biologi dengan menghubungkan konsep keanekaragaman hayati dengan upaya mitigasi bencana menggunakan pendekatan pendidikan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini juga melihat kemampuan calon guru biologi untuk merancang dan menerapkan tindakan mitigasi yang efektif. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan metode kombinasi dengan sequential explanatory design. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel acak sederhana. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 60 calon guru biologi. Temuan dari penelitian ini tentang peran penting pendidikan berkelanjutan dalam mempersiapkan generasi mendatang untuk menghadapi tantangan lingkungan global. hasil penelitian didapatkan dari hasil tes literasi sains yaitu pada komponen konten sebesar 83,5% proses sebesar 81% dan konteks sebesar 79% pada ketiga komponen tersebut masuk ke dalam kategori tinggi hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui peningkatan literasi sains calon guru biologi untuk mampu untuk merancang dan menerapkan tindakan mitigasi bencana pada keanekaragaman hayati.

Abstract

The 21st-century learning One, solution that can be used is by using the Understanding by Design (UbD) curriculum. The aim of this research is to examine the application of UbD in teaching, the implementation of UbD in Indonesia, expected student learning outcomes within the UbD framework, and the role of teachers in the implementation of UbD. The method used is the literature study method. The data analysis technique uses deductive qualitative analysis. The results obtained are that UbD learning can be used as a reference in preparing learning implementation plans that are oriented towards learning goals. Learning using UbD has not been fully implemented by all teachers in Indonesia, because there are still many teachers who prioritize the results of final grades rather than students' understanding. The implementation of UbD has actually been planned in the latest curriculum, namely the independent curriculum, but this curriculum has not been fully implemented by all schools. In implementing UbD, students are expected to have 6 abilities, namely explaining, interpreting, applying, taking a perspective, empathizing and having self-knowledge. The role of teachers is very essential in UbD, which involves designing, implementing, and directing learning activities.ABSTRAK. Pembelajaran abad 21, salah satu solusi yang dapat digunakan yaitu dengan menggunakan kurikulum Understanding by design (UbD). Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengkaji penerapan UbD dalam pembelajaran, implementasi UbD di Indonesia, hasil pembelajaran peserta didik yang diharapkan dalam kerangka UbD dan peran guru dalam implementasi UbD. Metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan metode studi kepustakaan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisa kualitatif deduktif. Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu strategi UbD dapat dijadikan sebagai acuan dalam menyusun perencanaan pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang berorientasi kepada tujuan pembelajaran. Pembelajaran menggunakan UbD belum sepenuhnya diterapkan oleh semua guru di Indonesia, karena masih banyak guru yang mementingkan hasil nilai akhir dibandingkan pemahaman peserta didik. Penerapan strategi UbD sebenarnya sudah dicanangkan di kurikulum terbaru yaitu kurikulum merdeka, tetapi kurikulum ini belum sepenuhnya diterapkan oleh semua sekolah. Pada penerapan strategi UbD, peserta didik diharapkan memiliki 6 kemampuan yakni menjelaskan, interpretasi, menerapkan, melakukan perspektif, berempati dan memiliki pengetahuan diri. Peran guru sangat esensial dalam UbD, yaitu merancang, melaksanakan dan mengarahkan kegiatan pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study is a classroom action research conducted at SMA Negeri A Bondowoso, specifically in class XC with a total of 36 students, during the second semester of the academic year 2022/2023. In this research, both quantitative and qualitative data were collected. The results of a questionnaire completed by students and teachers in observation sheets during learning were used to generate quantitative data. Qualitative data was collected through observations and interviews with students and teachers. Data collection techniques include observation and testing. Two colleagues were involved as student activity observers. The results improved significantly between cycles I and II. The results of student activity in asking questions during learning were as high as 45% in cycle I to 49% in cycle II. The increase in reading literacy leads to increased listening skills from 51% in cycle I to 58% in cycle II. The increase in students' posttest results was 71% in cycle I and 84% in cycle II. Finally, according to the results of student responses, students who liked biotechnology material increased their acquisition from 47% in cycle I to 52% in cycle II.ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri A Bondowoso yaitu pada kelas XC dengan jumlah siswa 36 dan dilakukan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu data kuantitatif dan data kualitatif. Data Kuantitatif didapat dari hasil angket yang diisi oleh siswa dan guru dalam lembar observasi selama pembelajaran. Data Kualitatif diperoleh dari hasil Observasi dan Wawancara kepada siswa dan guru. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi dan tes. Observer aktivitas siswa melibatkan dua orang teman sejawat. Terdapat hasil peningkatan yang signifikan antara siklus I dan siklus II. Pada penilaian aktivitas siswa, Hasil keaktifan siswa dalam bertanya selama pembelajaran pada siklus I sebanyak 45%, selanjutnya dihasilkan peningkatan sebesar 49% pada siklus II.  Kemudian peningkatan dari hasil literasi membaca, pada aspek keterampilan menyimak pada siklus I sebesar 51% menjadi 58% pada siklus II. Peningkatan hasil post test siswa pada siklus I sebesar 71% dan siklus II sebesar 84%.  Terakhir, pada hasil respon siswa, siswa yang menyukai materi bioteknologi mengalami peningkatan dari yang sebelumnya diperoleh sebesar 47% pada siklus I, naik secara signifikan dengan perolehan 52% pada siklus II.

Abstract

Learning outcomes are an assessment of success in education, where success is achieved when learning objectives are met. To measure this achievement, learning outcome tests are used by providing numerical assessments. This research study aims to identify the improvement of students' cognitive learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Artificial Intelligence (AI): ChatGpt. Cognitive learning outcomes hold significant value as they are used as indicators to evaluate the achievement of learning objectives and provide benefits for students in developing their thinking abilities to tackle various problems. The research adopts a quantitative descriptive approach, with the research subjects being students of X - 5 class at SMAN X Purwosari. The Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted during the period of March to May 2023, consisting of two cycles. The CAR stages include planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research results demonstrate a significant improvement in students' cognitive learning outcomes, with an increase of 25% in cycle 1 and 77% in cycle 2.ABSTRAK: Hasil pembelajaran adalah penilaian keberhasilan dalam pendidikan, di mana keberhasilan dicapai ketika tujuan pembelajaran terpenuhi. Untuk mengukur pencapaian ini, ujian hasil pembelajaran digunakan dengan memberikan penilaian numerik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif siswa melalui implementasi model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (PBM) yang dibantu oleh Kecerdasan Buatan (AI): ChatGpt. Hasil belajar kognitif memiliki nilai yang signifikan karena digunakan sebagai indikator untuk mengevaluasi pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran dan memberikan manfaat bagi siswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir mereka untuk mengatasi berbagai masalah. Penelitian ini mengadopsi pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X - 5 di SMAN X Purwosari. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dilakukan selama periode Maret hingga Mei 2023, yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Tahapan PTK meliputi perencanaan, implementasi, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam hasil belajar kognitif siswa, dengan peningkatan sebesar 25% pada siklus 1 dan 77% pada siklus 2.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the composition and diversity of waterbirds species in the Jatipapak mangrove ecosystem at Alas Purwo National Park (APNP). This research was conducted on September-October 2020 with terrestrial and marine surveys in three stations. Data collection includes the waterbirds species and the number of individuals of each species. Data analysis used species composition and diversity index (Shannon Wiener=H’). The results of the study obtained the existence of 837 individuals waterbirds consisting of seven families, 16 genera, and 23 species. The waterbird communities in this area are composed of 11 species of resident birds and 12 species of migratory birds. The diversity index of waterbird species obtained is 2.31 which means moderate level. Based on the conservation status, there were 22 species of waterbirds that were classified as least concern (LC) and one species namely the Lesser Adjutant (Leptoptilos javanicus) which was included in the Vulnerable (VU) category.ABSTRAK: Penelitian bertujuan untuk menentukan komposisi dan keanekaragaman spesies burung air di ekosistem mangrove Jatipapak di Taman Nasional Alas Purwo (TNAP). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan September-Oktober 2020 dengan survei darat dan laut di tiga stasiun. Data yang dicatat meliputi spesies burung air dan jumlah individu setiap jenis. Analisis data menggunakan penentuan komposisi spesies dan indeks keanekaragaman jenis Shannon Wiener (H’). Hasil penelitian diperoleh 837 individu burung air yang terdiri dari 7 famili, 16 genus, dan 23 spesies. Komunitas burung air di kawasan ini terdiri dari 11 spesies burung penetap dan 12 spesies burung migran. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman jenis burung air yang diperoleh adalah 2,31 yang berarti dalam kategori sedang. Berdasarkan status konservasi, terdapat 22 spesies burung air yang tergolong least concern (LC) dan satu spesies yaitu bangau tongtong (Leptoptilos javanicus) yang masuk dalam kategori Vulnerable (VU).

Abstract

The use of pocket book as a learning media is still limited. This will make it difficult for students to understand the material. The purpose of this research was to determine the feasibility results of tissue culture pocket book, the level of product feasibility through responses from lecturers, students and to see the effectiveness of tissue culture pocket book products especially in tool sterilization and in vitro propagation topics. The research method uses R&D with 4D models from Thiagrajaan. The results of the needs analysis showed that 66,7% of students had difficulty in understanding the material of tool sterilization and in vitro propagation. In curriculum analysis using the KKNI curriculum. The feasibility level of the assessment product from media experts obtained the criteria "Very worthy" with percentage of 91,67%, assessment of material experts with the criteria "worhty" with percentage of 84,74% and assessment results of learning design experts with the criteria "Very worthy" with percentage of 91,67%. Then the lecturer's response obtained results with the criteria "Worthy" with a percentage of 83,75%. In small group trials with scores of 89.4% and limited field trials of 90%. The disseminate stage obtained an N-Gain score of 0,56 with the "medium" criteria. ABSTRAK: Penggunaan buku saku sebagai media pembelajaran masih terbatas. Hal ini akan menyulitkan mahasiswa dalam memahami materi pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasil kelayakan buku saku kultur jaringan, tingkat kelayakan produk melalui tanggapan dari dosen, mahasiswa dan untuk melihat efektivitas produk buku saku kultur jaringan khususnya pada topik sterilisasi alat dan perbanyakan in vitro. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan R&D dengan model 4D Thiagrajaan. Hasil analisis kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa 66,7% mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami materi sterilisasi alat dan propagasi in vitro. Kurikulum yang digunakan adalah KKNI. Tingkat kelayakan produk penilaian dari ahli media diperoleh hasil dengan kriteria "Sangat layak" dengan persentase 91,67%, penilaian ahli materi dengan kriteria "Layak" dengan persentase 84,74% dan hasil penilaian ahli desain pembelajaran dengan kriteria "Sangat layak" dengan persentase 91,67%. Kemudian respon dosen diperoleh hasil dengan kriteria "Layak" dengan persentase 83,75%. Dalam uji coba kelompok kecil diperoleh skor 89,4% dan uji coba lapangan terbatas 90%. Tahap disseminate memperoleh skor N-Gain 0,56 dengan kriteria "sedang".

Abstract

Students' critical thinking skills in high school are still lacking. Learning media in textbooks is still less effective and interactive in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the improvement of students' critical thinking skills using 3D-based e-handout. This research is true-experiment research with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were all eleventh-grade Mathematics and Science major (MIPA) classes at SMAN 1 Ciwaringin, which consisted of 128 students. The samples were classes XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 2. This study showed a significant increase in students' critical thinking skills between experimental classes, with an average N-gain value of 0.60 (moderate category), and the control class, with an N-gain value of 0.28 (low category).ABSTRAK: Keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa di sekolah masih kurang. Media pembelajaran yang masih berupa buku paket kurang efektif dan interaktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  menganalisis peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa menggunakan e-handout berbasis 3D. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian true-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas XI MIPA di SMAN A Ciwaringin berjumlah 128 siswa dan sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas XI MIPA 1 dan XI MIPA 2. Terdapat peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dengan rata-rata nilai N-gain kelas eksperimen 0,60 tergolong kedalam keriteria sedang sedangkan nilai N-gain kelas kontrol 0,28 tergolong kedalam kategori rendah.

Abstract

One of the many marine organisms in Indonesia is macroalgae. Macroalgae has many benefits as a raw material for industries such as food, textile, and cosmetic industries. Macroalgae also provide a habitat for several types of marine life, such as crustaceans, mollusks, echinoderms, and fish. This study aims to determine the diversity, dominance, and evenness in the Leuweung Sancang Nature Reserve Area. This study uses a survey method with data collection using the quadrant transect method. The results of the study showed that there were 11 species of macroalgae found in the Leuweung Sancang Nature Reserve, including Turbinaria ornate, Padina australis, Sargasum aquifolium, Sargasum polycystum, Ulva reticulate, Chaetomorpha crassa, Ulva lactuca, Boodlea composite, Amphiroa rigida, Amphiroa fragilissima, and Glacilaria coronopifolia. The value of the macroalgae diversity index in the Leuweung Sancang Nature Reserve is included in the medium category with an average value of 1.0573, the dominance index value is included in the low category with an average value of 0.4004, and the evenness index value is included in the low category with an average value of 0.2671. This research contributes to determining the density, frequency of occurrence, and diversity of macroalgae species.ABSTRAK: Organisme laut yang banyak di Indonesia salah satunya adalah makroalga. Makroalga memiliki banyak manfaat sebagai bahan baku industri seperti industri makanan, tekstil dan kosmetik. Makroalga juga menyediakan habitat untuk beberapa jenis biota laut seperti krustasea, moluska, echinodermata dan ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman, dominansi, dan kemerataan yang terdapat di Kawasan Cagar Alam Leuweung Sancang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan pengembilan data menggunakan metode transek kuadran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan spesies makroalga yang ditemukan di Kawasan Cagar Alam Leuweung Sancang berjumlah 11 spesies diantaranya Turbinaria ornate, Padina australis, Sargasum aquifolium, Sargasum polycystum, Ulva reticulate, Chaetomorpha crassa, Ulva lactuca, Boodlea composite, Amphiroa rigida, Amphiroa fragilissima, dan Glacilaria coronopifolia. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman makroalga di Kawasan Cagar Alam Leuweung Sancang termasuk ke dalam kategori sedang dengan nilai rata-rata yaitu 1.0573, nilai indeks dominansi termasuk ke dalam kategori rendah dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 0.4004 dan nilai indeks kemerataan termasuk ke dalam kategori rendah dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 0.2671. Abstract

Studies of leaf architecture and morphometry in Syzygium spp. are investigated. Seven species of Syzygium are taken for the study with additional Psidium guineense Sw. used as comparison. The seven species include Syzygium urceolatum subsp. palembanicum (Miq.) P.S.Ashton, Syzygium tinombalum Sunarti, Syzygium sexangulatum (Miq.) Amshoff, Syzygium hirtum (Korth.) Merr. & L.M. Perry, Syzygium boerlagei (Merr.) Govaerts, Syzygium racemosum (Blume) DC., and Syzygium claviflorum (Roxb.) Wall ex Steud. A comprehensive description of leaf architecture for the studied taxa was provided including leaf type, laminar shape, leaf attachment, laminar length, laminar width, petiole, leaf margin, apex shape, base shape, leaf color, and laminar symmetry. The pattern showed primary vein framework, major secondary spacing, major secondary angle, major secondary vein framework, and tertiary veins. Taxonomically significant leaf features of examined taxa showed great diversity in leaf attachment opposite, primary vein framework pinnate, and major secondary angle smoothly decreasing towards base.ABSTRAK: Kajian arsitektur daun dan morfometri Syzygium spp. diamati dan dilaporkan. Tujuh spesies Syzygium digunakan dan satu spesies Psidium guineense Sw. sebagai pembanding. Jenis Syzygium yang diamati terdiri dari Syzygium urceolatum subsp. palembanicum (Miq.) P.S.Ashton, Syzygium tinombalum Sunarti, Syzygium sexangulatum (Miq.) Amshoff, Syzygium hirtum (Korth.) Merr. & L.M. Perry, Syzygium boerlagei (Merr. Govaerts), Syzygium racemosum (Bl) DC., dan Syzygium claviflorum (Roxb.) Wall ex Steud. Deskripsi arsitektur daun yang diamati mencakup ciri tipe daun, bentuk helaian, letak daun, panjang helaian daun, lebar helaian daun, tangkai daun, tepi daun, ujung daun, pangkal daun, warna permukaan daun, dan simetri helaian daun. Pola venasi menunjukkan primary vein framework, major secondary spacing, major secondary angle, major secondary vein framework, dan tertiary veins. Ciri dengan nilai signifikan ditemukan pada letak daun berhadapan, primary vein framework menyirip, dan sudut sekunder utama yang secara halus berkurang menuju dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of ESD integrated interactive modules. The population of this study was grade VII students of SMP Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru with a sample of 35 people who were given learning using ESD integrated interactive modules. The method used is research development (Research and Development) with the ADDIE development model. The instruments used in this study were validation sheets for material experts and media experts to see the feasibility level of interactive modules, practicality test questionnaires and questionnaires of student responses to the use of interactive modules developed. The results showed that the feasibility of interactive modules based on the results of material expert validation was 75.5% with feasible criteria. Meanwhile, the results of media expert validation obtained a percentage of 81.4% with very feasible criteria. The results of the practicality test questionnaire showed a value of 94.6%, which means that it is very practical to use and the student response questionnaire with an average of 89.74% and the category is very interesting.ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan dalam upaya mendeskripsikan pengembangan modul interaktif terintegrasi ESD. Populasi penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah  Pekanbaru dengan sampel sebanyak 35 orang yang diberikan pembelajaran menggunakan modul interaktif terintegrasi ESD. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar validasi ahli materi dan ahli media untuk melihat tingkat kelayakan modul interaktif, angket uji praktikalitas serta angket respon peserta didik terhadap penggunaan modul interaktif yang dikembangkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelayakan modul interaktif berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli materi sebesar 75,5% dengan kriteria layak. Sedangkan hasil validasi ahli media memperolah persentase 81,4% dengan kriteria sangat layak. Hasil angket uji praktikalitas menunjukan nilai 94,6% yang artinya sangat praktis digunakan dan angket respon peserta didik dengan rata-rata 89,74% dan kategori sangat menarik
