Abstract

Students' low motivation can be caused by how teachers teach in the learning activities. Teachers can use rewards and punishments to trigger students' learning motivation in the classroom. The data were collected through a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Meanwhile, the samples were selected by total sampling. Then, the data were analyzed by using multiple regression analysis to determine the effect of giving rewards and punishments on students' learning motivation either partially or simultaneously. The results showed that the tcount was 0.203 and ttable was 0.306; thus, Ho was accepted and Ha was rejected. As a result, giving rewards had no significant positive effect on students' learning motivation at grade V of SDN Dadaprejo 01, Kecamatan Junrejo, Kota Batu. Hence, partially giving rewards had no significant positive effect on motivation. In addition, this study also obtained that the tcount was 4.552 and the ttable was 0.306. Thus, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. This result indicated that punishment had a significant positive effect on the students' learning motivation at grade V of SDN Dadaprejo 01, Kecamatan Junrejo, Kota Batu. Hence, partially, punishment had a significant positive effect on learning motivation.

Abstract

Online learning during the pandemic needs animated videos as learning media in science subjects at the fourth grade of elementary school. This research aimed to develop kinemaster based animation learning videos in science subjects using the ADDIE development model (analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The stages to be carried out included (a) analyzing the knowledge or competence of the target, the characteristics of the target, and the equipment that supports the use of the media, (b) designing the transferred information from the analysis phase into the form of a document aiming of making a learning video, (c) developing learning videos; the core of this activity was taking pictures or animated motion videos with an internet connection, in which the video development was carried out by using several applications, namely the kinemaster and the tubemate application. The implementation phase included implementing learning videos for fourth-grade elementary school students. Finally, the evaluation stage included the assessment of the learning media in the form of a questionnaire. The results of this development research were the animated learning videos for science learning to assist students in increasing their understanding of material concepts. The validation results from material experts showed an average of 94.3% on material, and the learning aspects with qualitative criteria were very feasible. Then, the result from media experts got an average of 87% with very decent qualitative criteria. At the same time, the students’ responses obtained an average of 97%, with very good criteria. Thus, this learning video facilitated the learning process from home so that students easily understood the concepts of science subjects on the material of force and motion of objects.

Abstract

Speaking skill refers to students’ ability to convey their ideas. This research employed a questionnaire method within an R&D design, supported by data collection through observation and interviews. The purpose of this study was to produce feasible (valid) local-wisdom–based finger puppet media for improving the speaking skills of fourth-grade students at SDN Cikande Permai. This study used the R&D model proposed by Sugiyono (2010: 409), which consists of six steps: (1) problem analysis, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) design validation, (5) design revision, and (6) product testing. The product was tested on one teacher and 10 fourth-grade students. The validation results from material experts reached 87%, from linguists 84%, and from media experts 83%, all of which were categorized as very feasible, indicating that the product could be used as learning media. Furthermore, field trials were conducted through students’ response questionnaires, yielding a score of 93.7% in the very good category. Thus, it can be concluded that the local-wisdom–based finger puppet media is feasible for use in learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of learning efficiency of elementary school (SD) students through E-learning, and to know the advantages and disadvantages of its implementation. The method of this research was descriptive qualitative with literature study design. The data were collected through literature study in the form of academic manuscripts and relevant previous research including more than 20 scientific articles. Then, the data were analyzed thorugh content analysis techniques. The results revealed that 1. The implementation of learning efficiency for elementary school students through e-learning was practical and effective with the support of the ease of technology and internet in teaching and learning activities; 2. The advantages of implementing learning efficiency for elementary school students through e-learning in the disruption era were students and teachers could easily share information, and it saved costs, energy, and time in getting maximum results; besides, the students could learn actively and independently. On the other hand, the disadvantages of implementing the learning efficiency of elementary school students through e-learning in the disruption era was the lack of interaction between teachers and students, teachers tended to ignore social and academic aspects, and not all places were available on the internet. Based on these results, this research implied that teachers and students should be able to use e-learning wisely and the government should address the gap in internet access in Indonesia, especially in remote areas.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted the learning system in Indonesia from face-to-face instruction to distance learning. This shift requires the use of learning models that align with the conditions of remote learning. Blended learning, which combines face-to-face and online instruction, serves as an alternative to address these changes. This study aimed to determine the effect of the problem-based learning (PBL) model and the think pair share (TPS) model based on blended learning on students’ mathematics learning outcomes, as well as to identify differences in outcomes between the two blended learning–based models. This research utilized a quantitative approach by comparing the two learning models in relation to students’ mathematics performance. The research sample consisted of sixth-grade students from SD N Mojo 1 and SD N Trengguli 3 in Kabupaten Demak. The findings indicated that the blended learning–based PBL model contributed 80.5% to the improvement of students’ learning outcomes, while the blended learning–based TPS model contributed 71.9%. Additionally, both models showed no significant difference in their impact on students’ learning outcomes. These results demonstrate that the blended learning approach integrated into the PBL and TPS models significantly enhances students’ mathematics learning outcomes.
