Abstract

Tradition is one of the ways in which Javanese society conveys its norms and values. This is also true of the angon putu tradition, which is preserved by the community of Sowan Lor Kedung Jepara Village. This tradition holds many noble values that are worthy of development for character education, particularly for children. Therefore, this article aims to identify the meaning behind the angon putu tradition and the character education values for children embedded within it. This study is a descriptive-qualitative research. In data collection, the researcher used observation techniques by observing the implementation of the tradition, interviews with those involved, and documentation. The data analysis in this study used descriptive analysis techniques with the stages of reduction, display, and verification. The results of this study indicate that the angon putu tradition is a symbol of the love of grandparents for all their grandchildren and an expression of gratitude for the gift of long life. Meanwhile, the values that can be derived from this tradition include cooperation, independence, democracy, and social care.

Abstract

The peer teaching program is an effort to improve the quality of graduates with existing learning innovations. The principal is the main key in the implementation and planning of the peer teaching program. This study aims to describe the implementation, supporting factors, and results of the implementation of the peer teaching program as an effort to improve the quality of student graduates at the Ummul Quro As-Suyuty Pamekasan Private Islamic Senior High School (MAS). The author uses a qualitative approach research method with a descriptive research type to conduct a study. The results of this study state that the implementation of the peer teaching program is carried out at the end of each semester before graduation. Final year students are given the opportunity to carry out teaching/peer teaching practices directly in class. The implementation stages start from selecting material titles through meetings, intensive guidance with teachers, material improvements, scheduling teaching practices, implementing teaching in real classes, assessments from various parties, to final evaluations carried out through meetings. This new finding from the peer teaching program compares favorably with other institutions. The Ummul Quro As-Suyuty Pamekasan Private Islamic Senior High School (MAS) has been in existence since its inception, employing distinctive Islamic materials including Nahwu (National Language), Mahfodzat (Quotes), English, and story-based Arabic (Qiraatu al-Rasyidah). This has become a distinctive feature of the institution in implementing a peer teaching program tailored to students' needs.

Abstract

Many non-formal religious educational institutions, such as madrasah diniyah, Islamic boarding school, and Quranic Education Institution (LPQ), have made Arabic as a mandatory subject. However, the methods commonly used, such as memorizing, tend to be conservative. It made the learning process monotonous and less effective for vocabulary building. To address this, a community service program was conducted at LPQ Mansyaut Thulab Rajagaluh, Majalengka, using istima (listening) and tikrar (repetition) methods to improve vocabulary learning. The program employed a learning service approach to identify challenges and propose practical solutions, including the development of cost-effective learning media to support vocabulary and interactive games to reinforce learned vocabulary. Games, like HTST (Count, Clap, Speak, and Translate), throw the ball, and puzzles, were integrated to make learning enjoyable while accommodating auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning styles. As a result, students found it easier and faster to grasp new vocabulary, and their enthusiasm for learning increased due to the fun and engaging activities. This initiative not only improved students’ vocabulary acquisition, but also created a dynamic, creative, and effective learning environment tailored to their needs and characteristics.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the epistemology of transformational leadership integrated with the traditional values of Islamic scholars in shaping the character of students in the digital era, using a case study at the Nurul Haramain Almaliki Islamic Boarding School in Karangploso, Malang. A qualitative approach is used to explore how Kiyai Hasan Basri actualizes a transformational leadership style—which emphasizes vision, exemplary behavior, motivation, and individual attention—in the context of Islamic boarding school education, which is rich in Islamic traditional values. The results show that Kiyai Hasan's leadership successfully shapes the character of students through a combination of spiritual and strategic approaches that balance adab, discipline, and awareness of changing times. While maintaining classical learning methods such as sorogan and bandongan, this Islamic boarding school gradually opens up space for digital literacy without eliminating Islamic moral and ethical values. This integration is evidence that tradition and transformation can go hand in hand in shaping students who are virtuous, independent, and adaptive to the digital era. Thus, the epistemology of transformational leadership framed by the traditional values of Islamic boarding schools becomes a strong foundation in the character education of today's Islamic boarding school students. Abstract

The high unemployment rate of university graduates in Indonesia reflects the mismatch between the results of higher education and the demands of the world of work, thus encouraging the government to launch the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy as an effort to bridge the competency gap of graduates. This research aims to find out the description of the MBKM Internship Program, the work readiness of students in the Department of Education Administration of Makassar State University, as well as test the influence of the program on the work readiness of students. Using a quantitative approach with ex-post facto design and correlational strategies, this study involved 87 college students as saturated samples, with data collected through a Likert scale-based questionnaire and analyzed descriptively and inferentially using simple linear regression. The research results show that the MBKM Internship Program has a significant effect on student work readiness, with a substantive contribution in improving technical skills, communication skills, problem-solving, analytical, professional ethics, and teamwork skills. This finding confirms the relevance of experiential learning as an effective approach in improving students' employability skills, as well as enriching the literature regarding the implementation of MBKM in the field of Education Administration which has been rarely researched. This research provides an important contribution to the development of higher education policies, the design of internship programs that are more integrated with the curriculum, and as a reference for the industry in preparing a more competent and adaptive workforce to face the dynamics of the job market. Abstract

Understanding Islamic values among students is a crucial aspect in shaping character and noble morals, especially in the digital era filled with various challenges. This study aims to analyze the influence of social media use, family environment, and school environment on students’ understanding of Islamic values. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method at four public senior high schools (SMA) in Pekanbaru City, involving 363 students selected through accidental sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through simple and multiple linear regression techniques. The results indicate that all three independent variables—social media use, family environment, and school environment—significantly affect the understanding of Islamic values, both partially and simultaneously. The family environment exerts the strongest influence (β = 0.389; p < 0.001), followed by social media use (β = 0.228; p < 0.001), and the school environment (β = 0.174; p = 0.001). Collectively, these variables contribute 50.7% to students' understanding of Islamic values (R² = 0.507). These findings underscore the importance of synergy among families, schools, and digital environments in strengthening the internalization of Islamic values. The implications of this study highlight the need for collaborative strategies among parents, educators, and policymakers to develop integrative Islamic value-based education programs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji Impelementasi Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) Dalam Pengembangan Kreativitas Siswa di SMA Negeri 9 Bulukumba, dengan fokus pada Implementasi P5 serta faktor pendukung dan penghambatnya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan sumber data dari Kepala Sekolah, Wakil Kepala Sekolah Bidang Kurikulum, Guru dan Siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan akhir. Keabsahan data diperiksa menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian yang membahas tentang Implementasi P5 dalam pengembangan kreativitas siswa di SMA Negeri 9 Bulukumba menunjukkan bahwa. 1) Tahap perencanaan dilakukan secara terstruktur dan kolaboratif, dimulai dari pemilihan tema yang relevan hingga penyusunan modul proyek yang mencakup alur tujuan pembelajaran, strategi, dan capaian kompetensi dengan mempertimbangkan karakteristik, minat, dan potensi siswa guna merancang aktivitas yang mendorong kreativitas secara optimal. 2) Tahap pelaksanaan secara nyata mendorong pengembangan kreativitas siswa khususnya dalam kemampuan menghasilkan ide dan gagasan yang orisinal, serta tindakan nyata yang sesuai dengan tema proyek. Melalui pembelajaran berbasis proyek, siswa diberi ruang untuk berpikir mandiri, berdiskusi aktif dalam kelompok, dan mengeksplorasi solusi atas permasalahan yang mereka hadapi. 3) Monitoring dan Evaluasi tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai kontrol pelaksanaan, tetapi juga menjadi sarana reflektif yang mendukung perkembangan kreativitas siswa. Evaluasi menekankan proses, bukan hanya hasil akhir, dengan memperhatikan keterlibatan aktif, kemandirian berpikir, dan perubahan perilaku siswa selama proyek berlangsung. Pelaksanaan Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) di SMA Negeri 9 Bulukumba sangat diperoleh kombinasi antara faktor internal dan eksternal, meskipun masih menghadapi kendala seperti keterbatan waktu dan tingkat partisipasi siswa. Secara keseluruhan, proyek P5 berkontribusi positif dalam mendorong kreativitas siswa melalui pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan kolaboratif.

Abstract

Kepemimpinan kharismatik Tuan Guru memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk karakter santri, namun belum banyak diteliti secara empiris dalam konteks lembaga pendidikan pesantren. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan kharismatik Tuan Guru terhadap pembentukan karakter santri di Lombok Tengah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 27 orang guru dan kepala sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen kuesioner berskala Likert dan dianalisis dengan bantuan software JASP melalui uji regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kepemimpinan kharismatik Tuan Guru terhadap pembentukan karakter santri dengan nilai koefisien regresi sebesar 0,428 dan signifikansi p=0,010. Temuan ini mengimplikasikan bahwa keteladanan dan kharisma Tuan Guru dapat menjadi faktor kunci dalam membentuk karakter santri yang unggul, sehingga pendekatan kepemimpinan spiritual-karismatik perlu diperkuat dalam pengelolaan lembaga pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

This study examines extracurricular management at SD Islam Al Azhar 34 Makassar. The focus of this study is: How is extracurricular management and the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence the success of Swimming and Dance extracurricular management at SD Islam Al Azhar 34 Makassar. The purpose of this study is to determine the management system for Swimming and Dance extracurricular activities at SD Islam Al Azhar 34 Makassar, including: planning, organizing, implementing, supervising and evaluating extracurricular activities as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors. This research approach is qualitative with a descriptive research type with research subjects including the Principal, Vice Principal for Student Affairs, and Extracurricular Supervisor. Data collection uses interviews, observation and documentation. The data obtained are analyzed through word reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that (1) Management of Extracurricular activities at SD Islam Al Azhar 34 Makassar in the Planning aspect is in accordance with Permendikbudristek No. 12 of 2024 concerning Curriculum in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education Level, and Secondary Education Level which includes: activity planning procedures, activity curriculum, and strategies for compiling extracurricular activities. Organization is carried out through a clear structure, involving all responsible persons. The division of tasks and responsibilities is carried out periodically to facilitate coordination. Management of funds, schedules, and facilities is coordinated, and supported by competent supervisors. Implementation Includes: implementation methods, activity schedules, and activity impacts. Supervision is carried out through a monitoring team that records student attendance and discipline. Development evaluation is in the form of activity reports divided into short-term and long-term. Evaluation of success will be seen through the report card scores of students' extracurricular activities given each month. (2) Supporting factors include the availability of facilities and infrastructure, competent implementing staff, and effective coordination. Inhibiting factors include ineffective time management and teacher discipline, limited substitute staff, and administrative constraints such as outstanding student payments. Abstract

This study aims to examine the positive and negative impacts of the New Student Admission (PPDB) policy based on the zoning system and to analyze the 2025 New Student Admission System (SPMB) policy as a response to the challenges of zoning implementation. The approach used is a literature study based on 43 sources, including scholarly journals, academic articles, theses, and educational regulations from the period 2018–2025. The analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that: (1) The zoning system positively contributes to equal access to education, cost efficiency due to proximity of residence, a more equitable student distribution, and increased community participation. (2) However, the policy also brings negative impacts such as disparities in school quality, manipulation of residential data, weak policy dissemination, and the marginalization of high-achieving students. (3) As a response, the 2025 SPMB policy introduces a more accountable approach through four admission pathways: administrative domicile, affirmative action, academic achievement, and relocation. SPMB also grants greater autonomy to local governments and applies digital verification and integration with the national civil registry (Dukcapil) database. This study concludes that while the zoning system provides a foundation for educational equity, SPMB is expected to address inequalities and promote a fairer and more transparent student admission process.
