Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using Canva-based learning media on learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in class III SDIT Al-Insan Pinrang, as well as how it relates to individual learning styles of students. The problem raised is the extent to which the use of Canva media can improve students' learning outcomes compared to PowerPoint media, taking into account visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design, where learners were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group using Canva and the control group using PowerPoint. The research design also involved a 2x3 factorial analysis to see the interaction between learning media and learning styles. Data was collected through pre-test and post-test to measure learning outcomes, as well as a questionnaire to identify learners' learning styles. Hypothesis testing was conducted using two independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Kruskal-Wallis to see the differences between experimental and control groups, as well as differences based on learning styles. The results showed that the use of Canva had a significant effect on PAI learning outcomes, especially for students with visual and kinesthetic learning styles. However, there was no significant difference between the auditory learning style groups using Canva and PowerPoint. This finding reinforces the importance of considering learning styles in choosing learning media, and shows that visual design-based learning media, such as Canva, can increase learners' motivation and active participation, especially in learning that requires greater visual engagement. This research is beneficial for the development of more adaptive and effective learning methods in primary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive learning media application based on Articulate Storyline 3 in Arabic language learning as a solution to the low motivation and involvement of students due to the learning media used is still predominantly conventional in MAN Lumajang. The type of research used by researchers is research and development (RD). The development research is a research method that aims to produce a certain product. The research and development method is a scientific method used to research, design, create and test the validity of a product that has been created. In this development research, researchers used the four D model development model (4-D Model). The results of this study are validation from material experts showing a validity level of 85.2% and from media experts 89.6%, both of which are included in the very valid and very feasible category, although they require some revisions. Thus, this media is feasible to be used as an innovative alternative in the Arabic language learning process and is expected to increase student motivation and learning outcomes through a more interesting and interactive learning experience and so that it can be continued with a test of the effectiveness of the media on students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of organizational culture on teacher performance by examining the mediating role of knowledge sharing. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected from 31 teachers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri in Buol Regency using a structured questionnaire developed based on established theories. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4. The results showed that organizational culture has a significant direct effect on teacher performance and on knowledge sharing. However, knowledge sharing was found to have no significant direct effect on teacher performance and did not mediate the relationship between organizational culture and teacher performance. These findings suggest that while organizational culture plays a crucial role in shaping teacher performance, knowledge sharing alone is insufficient as a mediating factor. The study contributes to the literature on educational management, particularly within the context of Islamic educational institutions, and highlights the need for further exploration of other potential mediators.

Abstract

The low interest of students in learning Arabic is one of the non-linguistic problems that have long challenged the effectiveness of Arabic language education. This occurs because many students perceive Arabic as a difficult subject that has little relevance to daily life, which makes the learning process less engaging. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using animated video media as an innovative learning tool to increase students’ interest in learning Arabic among eleventh-grade language students at MAN 1 Bone. This research employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest experimental design, using interviews, observations, and questionnaires as data collection techniques. The findings indicate a significant increase in students’ learning interest after the implementation of animated video media, with the mean score rising from 58.83 (pretest) to 79.83 (posttest), showing an improvement of approximately 21 points. The effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.27) indicates a large practical effect, suggesting that the use of animated videos was not only statistically significant but also pedagogically meaningful in enhancing students’ interest in learning Arabic. This study highlights the importance of integrating technology-based instructional media into Arabic language education to align with the characteristics of the digital generation, who prefer visual and auditory interactive learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies and factors that influence the instilling of disciplined character in students at Mutiara Insan Islamic Middle School. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the instilling of discipline is implemented through four main strategies, namely: (1) religious habits in the form of morning prayers, recitation of the Koran, and roll call before studying to establish regular time; (2) the role model of teachers—especially Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers—and the implementation of rules accompanied by educational sanctions such as reading the Qur'an and reflection; (3) the development of a positive school culture that emphasizes the values of politeness, orderliness, and responsibility; and (4) collaboration with parents in supervising and fostering discipline at home. The success of this strategy is supported by four important factors, namely the leadership of the principal, the role of PAI teachers and other teachers as role models, an Islamic school culture integrated into learning activities, and support from parents and the environment. These findings indicate that the instilling of discipline at Mutiara Insan Islamic Middle School takes place in an integrative, sustainable manner and is able to become a model of Islamic character education that is relevant to the demands of the times.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the linguistic variations in Arabic usage among students of the Arabic Language Education Program, Class E, 2024 cohort, consisting of 15 students, and to identify the contributing factors and challenges in Arabic language learning. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that students' use of Arabic is highly diverse, encompassing variations in dialect, function, formality, and communication medium. These variations are influenced by students’ educational backgrounds (e.g., salafi and modern Islamic boarding schools, state Islamic high schools), regional origins, as well as technological and cultural developments. In practice, students frequently combine fusha, 'amiyah, and elements of Indonesian or regional languages in daily interactions. The study also highlights the challenges of curriculum harmonization, the shortage of qualified Arabic teachers, and the necessity for inclusive and intercultural teaching approaches. These findings underscore the sociolinguistic reality that language variation reflects students' social identities and interactional dynamics. Therefore, adaptive and context-sensitive strategies are required to develop Arabic language instruction that is both linguistically effective and culturally relevant in a multicultural academic environment.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to improve students' listening comprehension and critical thinking skills by implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model within the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework in an eighth-grade EFL class at SMPN 13 Malang. The study was motivated by students’ low listening comprehension and underdeveloped critical thinking skills. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) design was used, consisting of two cycles, each involving the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through listening tests, classroom observations, critical thinking rubric, and student interviews, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ listening performance, with the class average increasing from 67 in the diagnostic pretest to 82 in the final task of Cycle 2. Critical thinking scores also improved across all indicators, particularly in interpretation and explanation, as students engaged in structured group work with cognitive role assignments, which also contributed to a more student-centered learning environment. The study concludes that the integration of PBL within the UbD framework effectively enhanced both listening and critical thinking skills in the EFL context. These findings suggest that structured, problem-based instruction can support competency-based goals in a junior high school English classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) can be integrated within the context of educational institutions, particularly school libraries, to improve operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, as well as the overall management and governance of the library. This research employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data analysis technique involves a systematic process of searching and organizing the results from interviews, notes, and collected materials to enhance understanding of all gathered information and to enable the presentation of findings. The results indicate that the library at SMPN 4 Sibulue faces challenges such as limited collections, facilities, and librarian competencies, which hinder optimal service delivery. To address these issues, the library implements systematic collection management, utilizes digital technology, establishes cooperative book procurement, and improves staff competencies through training. The school also strives to maximize space usage and proposes the acquisition of new facilities despite budget constraints. Strengthening staff mental and character development, literacy and digitalization training, and fostering a quality culture involving all parties are key factors, with regular monitoring and evaluation to ensure continuous service quality improvement in accordance with the principles of Total Quality Management.
