Abstract

This study aims to identify the needs of students in the Arabic Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Arts, Jakarta State University for data science skills and their integration into learning writing skills. The research was conducted in June 2022 at Jakarta State University's Arabic Language Education Study Program. The study sample consisted of 30 students. The data collection technique used in this needs analysis is a survey technique. A questionnaire was used as a research tool, which was compiled and distributed via the Google form platform. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the results of the validity and reliability test, it was determined that the questionnaire used for data collection had valid and reliable items. The results of the data analysis show that the majority of students need and desire the teaching of data science skills that are integrated into learning Arabic writing skills.

Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing the actual state of implementing multiculturalism and identifying strategies to improve its effectiveness in elementary school students from an early age. The study employs a qualitative method and collects data from elementary school teachers and principals through in-depth interviews, documentation studies, and observation. The data obtained is then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The study reveals that the majority of elementary school teachers view the implementation of multiculturalism as highly important, while a smaller portion considers it important. Teachers emphasize the importance of multiculturalism in maintaining social harmony, preventing conflicts among residents, fostering awareness of diversity within the country, and upholding national unity and integrity. A significant number of teachers express strong support for the development of teaching materials that integrate multiculturalism. However, the current implementation of multiculturalism lacks a systematic approach in planning, implementation, and evaluation. To enhance the effectiveness of implementing multiculturalism in elementary school students, teachers can employ various strategies.Keywords: diversity; learning material; multiculturalism; qualitative approach.

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' difficulties and lack of interest in learning Arabic. This is because the media used by teachers during teaching and learning activities are still inadequate, teachers still use traditional media such as textbooks, and blackboards only, this is what makes students feel that Arabic lessons are difficult lessons to understand and there is no interest in learning them. Seeing from the existing problems, this research aims to develop a quartet card learning media model by developing interactive, effective, and fun Arabic learning media. The method used in this research is the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implement, and Evaluate). The results of this study are a quartet card consisting of 2 subject matter, namely material about professions and sports. The learning media in this study received a score of 98% and included the category "Very Feasible" in the assessment of material experts, then this learning media received a score of 95% and included the category "Very Feasible" in the assessment of media experts, and at the product evaluation stage through a questionnaire given to students obtained a score of 96% and this result was included in the "very feasible" category. Therefore, the use of the quartet card media model in learning Arabic vocabulary for grade VIII students is appropriate and interesting.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the ability of teachers in Bekasi, which is one of the FBS fostered areas, to apply the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model. The outputs of this activity are: 1. Teachers in Bekasi who became participants received training on the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model. 2. Teachers in Bekasi who participated in the training can apply the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model in classroom learning.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of contextual teaching and learning approach to the Arabic academic writing skills students of Education Arabic Department Faculty of Language and Arts State University of Jakarta. The research was conducted during the second semester in the 2015/2016 academic year starting from February up June in 2016. The study design used Elliot’s procedure, which comprised seven phases, namely: (a) identifying the initial ideas, (b) finding and analyzing the facts, (c) general planning, (d) Implementing, (e) observing, (f) evaluating, and (g) revising. The data were taken by observation, interview, and test. The results of the study found that the mean of the pre-test was 65,30, the average score results of the test at the first cycle were 73,25, the average score of the test at the second cycle was 77,40, and the average score of the test at third cycle was 84.1. During the learning process, students have shown the changing of learning behaviour and meet the criteria either by 80%. The quality of students' academic writing has also shown significant. It concluded that the contextual teaching and learning approach could improve the student’s skill in Arabic academic writing.

Abstract

This research aims to develop Arabic textbook material for the Junior High School level. It used a research and development approach that involves 10 steps. The research began with a survey to obtain empirical data related to the Arabic language learning in Junior High School. It found that (1) the competency standard concerning the application of linguistic elements that must be mastered by students was not clearly formulated; it was only a global formula included at the end of each main competencies and basic competencies determined by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in each semester in each class level. (2) The textbook authors depend much on their individual knowledge which tends to differ from one author to another. In this case, the main problem of language material is related to the lack of attention from the author in compiling textbooks systematically in accordance with the principles of gradation. This problem has helped create the impression that Arabic language is difficult to learn. (3) The textbooks developed in this study used linguistic materials that were arranged in stages with Transformational Grammar theory. This developmental study of linguistic material is a new model in developing textbooks.

Abstract

Abstract The Jigsaw method is one of the cooperative learning models that can improve collaboration skills. Based on the situation analysis results, it was found that 13.8% of teachers at At-Taqwa VIII Bekasi had not received teacher professionalism training for a long time, and only 24.1% had received training in the past year. So this training activity is essential to 1) Provide understanding and knowledge about the jigsaw method. 2) Provide training to teachers on the jigsaw method. The methods used in this training are workshops and mentoring. The target audience in this community service activity is teachers at the Attaqwa VIII at the Raudatul Athfal, Madrasah Ibtidayah, and Madrasah Tsanawiyah levels. A team of lecturers from the Jakarta State University Arabic Language Education Study Program conducted this training activity. Participants were asked to fill out an activity assessment questionnaire to evaluate this activity. Based on the results of the training participant questionnaire, it is known that 98% of participants stated that this activity increased their insight into the jigwas method, and they expressed satisfaction with this training activity. In addition, 86% of participants stated that this activity was very in line with expectations and very beneficial for them. Abstrak Metode Jigsaw merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran kooperatif yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan kolaborasi. Permasalahan yang ditemukan bahwa berdasarkan hasil analisis situasi, diketahui bahwa 13,8% guru di Yayasan At-Taqwa VIII, Karang Tengah, Bekasi, sudah lama tidak mendapatkan pelatihan profesionalisme guru dan hanya 24,1% yang mendapatkan pelatihan dalam setahun terakhir. Maka kegiatan pelatihan ini penting dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk: 1)Memberikan pemahaman dan pengetahuan tentang metode jigsaw dalam pembelajaran; 2)Memberikan pelatihan kepada guru tentang metode jigsaw dalam pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini adalah workshop dan pendampingan. Khalayak sasaran dalam kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah para guru di Yayasan Attaqwa VIII Karang Tengah, Bekasi, pada jenjang Raudatul Athfal, Madrasah Ibtidayah, dan Madrasah Tsanawiyah. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilaksanakan oleh tim dosen Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Arab, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Untuk evaluasi kegiatan ini, peserta diminta untuk mengisi angket penilaian kegiatan. Berdasarkan nilai rata-rata hasil angket peserta pelatihan, diketahui bahwa 98 % peserta menyatakan kegiatan ini menambah wawasan mereka mengenai metode jigwa dan mereka menyatakan sangat puas atas kegiatan pelatihan ini. Selain itu, 86% peserta menyatakan bahwa kegiatan ini sangat sesuai dengan harapan beserta dan sangat bermanfaat bagi mereka..

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesalahan bahasa yang terjadi dalam pemasaran produk di Marketplace Facebook dengan fokus pada tataran morfologi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan konten analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, selain masalah singkatan, kesalahan penulisan kata juga menjadi perhatian utama. Beberapa akun marketplace cenderung membuat kesalahan dalam penempatan huruf atau penulisan kata, yang dapat mengakibatkan ketidakjelasan pesan yang disampaikan. Kesalahan semacam ini dapat mengubah makna kalimat dan menyulitkan konsumen untuk memahami informasi yang diberikan. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi praktisi pemasaran dalam meningkatkan kualitas komunikasi mereka di platform Marketplace Facebook.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of Arabic learning outcomes using rewards and punishments. The research used an action research method by Kemmis and McTaggart model and was carried out in two cycles. The research subjects were grade 7 students of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jakarta, totaling 36 students including 19 male students and 17 female students. The instruments used tested learning outcomes and observation sheets. Learning outcome tests are used to measure the success of students in understanding Arabic lessons. Meanwhile, the observation sheet is used to measure the performance of teachers and students in learning. The scores that have been achieved by the students during the study are the pre-cycle score is 65,83, the exam score for cycle 1 is 66,80, and the exam score for cycle 2 is 75,69. There was an increase in the value from the pretest to the test cycle 1, namely 0,99, and the increase from cycle 1 to cycle 2 is 8,89. The number of improvement results in this study was 9,88. By using reward and punishment, students are more active in learning and can relate the subject matter to the surrounding environment and practice it directly in the classroom.

Abstract

The language used as a medium of communication for someone to convey ideas or thoughts must pay attention to the norms, situations, and conditions of the language being spoken. Because inaccuracy in using language often triggers conflict in certain communities. This can be influenced by the development of language and culture such as the emergence of taboo words that are not appropriate in using and interpreting them. In the upload of the YouTube channel "Yowis Ben 2" describes a dialogue between two characters discussing taboo words in their daily speech and there is a new meaning expressed by the character. The purpose of this study is to analyze the use of taboo words in East Javanese dialogue in the YouTube clip "Yowis Ben 2". This study uses a qualitative sociopragmatic approach with text analysis methods and the content of YouTube broadcasts. The data collection technique used is the technique of listening, speaking, and taking notes, then narrated and documented. Based on the results of the study, the use of taboo words in East Javanese dialogue on the YouTube channel "Yowis Ben 2" starring Bayu Skak and Anya Geraldine. The words 'jancuk' and 'barokokok' were found. The word, which was originally a taboo word, has now changed its meaning to be positive, namely expressing the expression of the heart, cultural expression in behavior, and containing hyperbolic meaning. The expression is used only in certain circles who understand the function of the words 'jancuk' and 'barokokok'. In its use, it must be accompanied by a supportive expression, namely a smiling, happy, and amazed face and the tone of voice should not be high when the word 'jancuk' is said. This is what distinguishes the expression of the word 'jancuk' from the meaning of the taboo word that has been understood so far and it can be concluded that the word 'jancuk' becomes a positive word when its use is in accordance with the criteria that have been explained.
