Abstract

The Program for Applying Appropriate Technology (PPTTG) aims to utilize organic waste into organic fertilizer in SD Negeri 13 Muaro and SD Negeri 3 Muaro, Sijunjung District, Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra Province. This program is carried out based on an analysis of problems faced by partners, including: (1) awareness of school residents disposing of rubbish where it is still low, (2) the amount of organic waste generated every day so that it becomes a serious problem for schools, (3) schools have not been able to treating organic waste into high quality products. Seeing this problem, it is necessary to look for solutions in the form of: (1) mentoring waste management literacy, (2) socialization of the utilization of organic waste into organic fertilizer, and (3) assistance using organic waste to technology-based organic fertilizer. The results of the application of technology showed that the average success rate of the program reached 85,11% with the Good category. This means that the application of technology in the form of utilizing organic waste into organic fertilizer can be implemented well in elementary schools in Sijunjung Regency.Keywords: Organic Waste; Organic Fertilizer; Elementary School.

Abstract

The issue of stunting in Indonesia remains high, with a percentage of 21.6%. As a result, Presidential Regulation No. 72 of 2021 was issued regarding the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction, with the target for Indonesia to reduce stunting to 14%. In North Sumatra, the stunting rate reaches 21.1%, with Denai Kuala Village having a rate of 22.4%. One of the efforts by the village government to accelerate the reduction of stunting is the formation of the DASHAT team (Dapur Atasi Stunting) and Kader KPM. Therefore, accurate and relevant knowledge about stunting is a key focus that must be emphasized in the role of KPM. The purpose of this research is to assess the extent of KPM's knowledge about stunting and how that knowledge has encouraged them to optimize their role in the acceleration of stunting reduction. The methodology includes preparation, implementation, and evaluation. In the evaluation, the research design is a pre-experimental design using a single group with pretest and posttest. The results show that the assistance provided has a positive effect on the knowledge and skills of Kader KPM in efforts to accelerate stunting reduction. There was an average increase in knowledge from 56.4 before the socialization and assistance to an average score of 84.1 after the socialization and assistance were conducted.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi dan membandingkan jenis senyawa antiinflamasi pada daun muda, daun tua, buah dan tangkai daun tanaman buasbuas (Premna pubescens Blume) dengan metode Gas Cromatografy Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). Masing-masing sampel diekstrak menggunakan metode maserasi dengan perendaman etanol 96% di dryer untuk mendapatkan ekstrak etanol berbentuk pasta. Pasta di analisis menggunakan (GC-MS). Data hasil GC-MS dianalisis menggunkan software Pubchem. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan senyawa antiinflamasi terbanyak pada daun tua dengan 11 jenis senyawa bioaktif diantaranya senyawa 2-oxopentanedioic acid, (methyltrisulfanyl)methane, (5S)-5-benzyl-1-[4-[(2R)-5,6-dioxo-1-(2-phenylethyl)piperazin-2-yl]butyl]-4-(2-phenylethyl)piperazine-2,3-dione, 9-methoxy-3,6-dimethyl-2,4,5,6-tetrahydro-1H-azepino[4,5-b]indol-6-ium;chloride, (1S)-2-ethyl-1-(4-methylphenyl)-1H-chromeno[2,3-c]pyrrole-3,9-dione, ethyl 2-(2-oxocyclohexyl)acetate. Pada daun muda hanya ada 1 jenis senyawa bioaktif yaitu senyawa 1-cyano-2-methylguanidine. Pada buah sebanyak 4 jenis senyawa bioaktif diantaranya senyawa 3-(3,4-Dichlorophenyl)-1-[6-[2-(Dimethylamino)Ethoxy]-4,7-Dimethoxy-1-Benzofuran-5-Yl]Propan-1-Ol, N,N-Dimethyl-4-[2-(3-Methylphenyl)Ethenyl]Aniline. Pada tangkai daun sebanyak 4 jenis senyawa bioaktif diantaranya senyawa (5S)-5-benzyl-1-[4-[(2R)-5,6-dioxo-1-(2-phenylethyl)piperazin-2-yl]butyl]-4-(2-phenylethyl)piperazine-2,3-dione,N-[chloro(dimethylamino)phosphoryl]-N-methylmethanamine, 2-triethoxysilylbutanenitrile. Senyawa antiinflamasi tertinggi terdapat di daun tua dan terendah di daun muda.

Abstract

Jamblang fruit (Syzygium cumini) is a plat that has been scientifically researched to have medicinal properties.This study aims to determine the content of bioactive compounds contained in the petiole by Gas Chromathography Mass Spectrophotometer (GCMS) method. The study used gas chromatographic tools and mass spectra which were evaluated using MASSLAB program. The data obtained from the GCMS machine is then analyzed using the NCBI database pubchem software (https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/). The result showed that there were 61 phytochemical compounds in jamblang root ethanol extracts and 33 compounds in jambang fruit methanol extracts. Then 4 of them being the same compound, located in each of the extract. Of the total bioactive compounds, there are 5 phytochemical compounds that are useful as antiviral with details, 2 from the extract ethanol of jamblang and 2 from the extract methanol of jamblang. The results of this study can be used as the foundation in the development program of the potential utilization of bioassemblance of jamblang plants. In further research it is necessary to analyze the other parts of the plant and make comparisons to complete the available database.

Abstract

Jamblang (Syzygium cumini) essential oil is another form of extraction to explore its potential medicinal properties. This study aims to determine the content of bioactive compounds contained in seed essential oil using the Gas Chromatography Mass Spectophotometer (GCMS) approach. Jamblang seed essential oil is produced through a steam distillation process. The results of the GCMS analysis were evaluated using the MASSLAB program. The data obtained from the GCMS tool was then further analyzed using the PubChem NCBI database software (https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/) and PASS online. The results of this study indicate that there are 61 phytochemical compounds in jamblang seed essential oil. Of the total bioactive compounds, there are 2 phytochemical compounds that are useful as antivirals, while those that have similarities above 80% are 10 compounds. The results of this study can be used as a basis for a program to develop the potential use of bioactive compounds in jamblang seed essential oil as an antiviral. In future research, it is necessary to analyze other plant parts and make comparisons to complete the existing database.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 masih menjadi masalah yang serius, penyebaran virus dan mutasi virus yang sangat cepat menyebabkan penemuan obat yang spesifik masih kurang efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil senyawa bioaktif yang terkandung dalam minyak esensial akar dan biji hanjeli, khususnya senyawa yang bermanfaat sebagai antivirus. Jenis dari penelitian ini adalah penelitan deskriptif dengan metode In silico. Akar dan biji hanjeli diolah dengan cara destilasi uap air. Setelah itu identifikasi senyawa bioaktif dilakukan menggunakan teknik GC-MS, untuk mengetahui senyawa bioaktif yang terkandung pada ekstrak minyak esensial akar dan biji Hanjeli. Selanjutnya hasil senyawa bioaktif yang telah didapat kemudian diidentifikasi bioaktivitasnya dengan menggunakan software Pubchem, untuk melihat bioaktivitas dan canonical SMILES dari senyawa tersebut dan terakhir dilakukan analisis dengan PASS online untuk melihat potensi dan mekanismenya sebagai antivirus SARS-CoV-2.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa senyawa bioaktif minyak esensial akar dan biji hanjeli terdiri dari 40 senyawa yang terdapat pada minyak esensial akar Hanjeli dan 41 senyawa lagi berada di minyak esensial biji Hanjeli. Total keseluruhan senyawa sebanyak 81 dengan 19 senyawa merupakan senyawa bioaktif yang terdapat pada keduanya, sehingga didapati total sebesar 62 senyawa fitokimia yang berbeda-beda.Senyawa bioaktif minyak esensial akar hanjeli yang berguna sebagai antivirus ada sebanyak 9 senyawa. Pada minyak esensial biji ditemukan 11 senyawa yang memiliki bioaktivitas sebagai antivirus. Mekanisme kerja senyawa yang berpotensi sebagai antivirus umumnya sama, dimana setelah diidentifikasi pada software PASS online terdapat 2 mekanisme yakni sebagai RdRp Inhibitor dan sebagai 3Clpro inhibitor.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi senyawa antivirus SARS-CoV-2 dari minyak esensial daun dan biji Jamblang (Syzygium cumini) beserta mekanisme antivirusnya terhadap SARS-CoV-2 dengan pendekatan in silico. Minyak daun dan biji jamblang diperoleh melalui proses destilasi. Minyak hasil destilasi kemudian di analisis menggunakan Gas Chromatography Mass Spectophotometer (GC-MS). Hasil analisis GCMS dievaluasi meggunakan program MASSLAB. Data yang diperoleh dari alat GCMS kemudian dianalisis lanjut menggunakan software PubChem NCBI database (https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/) dan PASS online. Hasil analisis GC-MS menunjukkan terdapat 45 senyawa bioaktif pada daun jamblang dan 69 senyawa bioaktif pada biji jamblang. Hasil analsis PubChem menunjukkan bahwa diperoleh sebanyak 10 senyawa yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antiviral. Hasil analisis PASS online menunjukkan mekanisme antivirus sebagai 3Clpro inhibitor (3 C-like protease (Human coronavirus) inhibitor). Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan landasan dalam program pengembangan pemanfaatan potensi senyawa bioaktif pada minyak esensial daun dan biji jamblang sebagai antivirus. Pada penelitian selanjutnya perlu dilakukan analisis pada bagian tanaman yang lain dan melakukan perbandingan untuk melengkapi database yang sudah tersedia.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia's potato production faces critical challenges in quality seed provision. Traditional G0 seed propagation methods achieve only 40-60% survival rates due to transplant shock and environmental stress. Contribution: This research contributes to community-based technology transfer literature in agricultural seed systems by implementing integrated aeroponic-micro tuber technologies through participatory partnerships. Method: A participatory action research approach was employed over four months (January-April 2025) involving 25 participants from Gapoktan Nilam farmer group in North Sumatra. The tri-partite partnership included farmers, PT. G10 Agrotech, and Universitas Negeri Medan. Training modules covered aeroponic fundamentals, micro-tuber applications, and integrated system management. post assessments measured survival rates, productivity, knowledge, and skills using paired t-tests. Results: Survival rates improved significantly from 52.3±8.2% to 83.7±4.1% (p<0.001). Monthly seedling production increased by 171% from 2,040±320 to 5,520±280 units. Participant knowledge scores doubled from 4.2±0.8 to 8.5±0.6 (p<0.001). The program achieved 95% participation with 78% satisfaction rates and demonstrated 240% return on investment within 12 months. Conclusion: The integrated approach effectively addresses transplant shock while establishing sustainable community partnerships. This model demonstrates successful scaling of complex agricultural technologies at grassroots level, contributing to enhanced food security through improved seed systems.

Abstract

Kelurahan Payaroba memiliki populasi lansia sebesar 30% (Aging Population). Meski 25% di antaranya berpengalaman wirausaha, potensi tersebut belum dimanfaatkan optimal. Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemandirian ekonomi dan kualitas hidup lansia melalui pemberdayaan potensi lokal daun kelor. Metode Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) digunakan melalui tiga tahapan: (1) Persiapan (perencanaan, brainstorming, FGD, dan pre-event); (2) Pelaksanaan (pra-inkubasi, aplikasi, inkubasi, dan pasca-inkubasi); serta (3) Evaluasi (pre dan post-wawancara). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan kewirausahaan berbasis inovasi daun kelor berdampak positif dan transformatif. Melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan intensif, lansia memperoleh keterampilan teknis serta kepercayaan diri untuk berwirausaha. Program ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan partisipatif berbasis potensi lokal efektif mendorong kemandirian ekonomi lansia serta memberikan model replikasi bagi pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui bahan lokal bernilai ekonomi.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a scientific literacy-based ethnobotanical encyclopedia of medicinal plants of the Malay ethnic group in the Eastern Coastal region of North Sumatra and to determine the quality of the developed encyclopedia based on expert validation and user trials. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) adopting the ADDIE development model. Research instruments included validation sheets from material experts, instructional design experts, and layout design experts, as well as response questionnaires from ethnobotany course lecturers and students. The results showed that the developed encyclopedia received a validation score of 96.25% from instructional design experts, 89.7% from material experts, and 98.75% from layout design experts, all categorized as very valid. Lecturers’ responses indicated a practicality level of 89.73%, while student responses reached 94.23%, both categorized as very practical. In conclusion, the scientific literacy-based encyclopedia of Malay ethnic medicinal plants is valid and practical to be used as a learning resource in the Ethnobotany course.
