Abstract

This study aims to describe the process and learning outcomes using media hopscotch in improving children's spatial-visual intelligence. The research model used is the Kemmis and Taggart models with 20 research subjects in  Group B PAUD Anak Bangsa, Serang City. The study was conducted in semester 1 of the 2017/2018 Academic Year in October to November 2017 with two cycles. Data collection techniques are done through tests, observations, interviews and documentation studies. The data analysis technique used in this study is a mixed-method, namely qualitative data analysis and quantitative data. Quantitative data analysis was used to find out the percentage increase in children's spatial-visual intelligence after being given an action. Qualitative data analysis is used to describe the results of the study. The results of this study an increase in spatial-visual intelligence in children after participating in learning by using cricket media. Spatial visual intelligence of children in the pre-cycle that is equal to 42.40%. In cycle one there was an increase to 68.65% and increased again in cycle 2 to 85.85% in cycle 2. The process of playing hopscotch had an impact on various aspects of child development such as; physical, cognitive, linguistic and social. The results of this study imply that the process of early childhood learning using a hopscotch playing strategy can be considered as a medium for increasing children's spatial-visual intelligence.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on the critical thinking abilities of children aged 5-6 years. This type of research uses quantitative with quasi- experimental research methods. Sampling in this study used purposive sampling with the number of samples in this study totaling 20 children and the data collection techniques used were observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used is the Wilcoxon signed rank test. This results of the research showed that the treatment scores using the problem-based learning model and the posttest were increased by 45% for children Developing According to Expectations (DAE) compared to before using the problem-based learning model. The results of the pretest for critical thinking abilities of children who were Beginning to Develop (BD) were 35%. then the final result of the total number of children's pretest and posttest is at the Very Well Developing (VWD) stage of 80%. This shows that there is an influence from using the problem-based learning model on the critical thinking abilities of children aged 5-6 years .

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of watching Upin & Ipin animated films and the moral values of children aged 5-6 years in Pesisir Selatan District, West Pesisir Regency. The type of research used is quantitative with the expos facto method and associative design. The research sample consisted of 75 children who were determined using simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires given to parents to obtain variable x data and through direct observation of children to obtain variable y data. The collected data were then analyzed using the product moment correlation test formula after prerequisite tests such as normality test and linearity test. The results of hypothesis testing obtained a significance value between the intensity of watching Upin & Ipin animated films with children's moral values of 0.000 with an Alpha error rate of 0.05, so that it is stated that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The higher the intensity of children watching Upin & Ipin animated films, the higher the chance of moral values in children aged 5-6 years in the South coastal district of the West coast district.

The research employed a descriptive quantitative method using a survey approach. The data source consisted of 94 parents in Jakarta. A purposive sampling technique was used, considering the parents’ educational background and their status as caregivers of children aged 0–8 years. The questionnaire was distributed through Google Forms. The instrument comprised 16 closed-ended questions regarding the introduction of digital literacy skills and behaviors related to gadget addiction as reported by the respondents.Data were analyzed using simple descriptive statistical analysis by presenting figures and diagrams, as well as qualitative analysis through the interpretation of research data. The findings indicate that the majority of parents in Jakarta have introduced digital literacy to their children.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mathematical ability of children aged 5–6 years, which is mostly caused by learning methods that are less interesting and tend to be monotonous. Learning at the ECE level generally still focuses on the use of worksheets and teacher-dominated approaches, so that children are less actively involved in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which educational game media, especially the modified monopoly board game, can improve children's mathematical understanding. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design (non-equivalent control group design). The sample consisted of 18 children selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data collected through structured observation and analyzed using the N-Gain formula and the Mann-Whitney U test. The results showed that the N-Gain value of 0.84 was classified as high, and the Mann-Whitney test showed a significance of 0.000 <0.05. This means that there is a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, so that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. Thus, the monopoly game is proven to be effective in improving the mathematical abilities of early childhood children.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the readiness of individuals to adjust to various conditions and challenges faced. For example, during the pandemic conditions we have experienced, This pandemic condition forces individuals to adapt to conditions, including Indonesian families. This condition is also experienced by a person when dealing with unexpected disaster conditions. Many parents find it difficult to deal with their anxiety with all the pressure and keep their children safe. But as time goes by, individuals generally strive to rise from adversity and try to readjust. This ability to rise from depressed situation is called resilience. Resilience grows and develops throughout human life and begins to develop from early childhood. Everyone has different resilience abilities depending on the individual's experience and personality. In children, one of the factors that can play a role in the formation of resilience is the condition of the child's nearest and smallest environment, namely the family and parents. How much effort parents make to create a sense of security and comfort for the family, and the ability of parents to face obstacles is one of the factors that play a role in the formation of children's resilience. This study aims to find out how big the role of parental resilience plays in the formation of resilience in early childhood. The method in this study is a quantitative approach with a correlation technique. The sample was selected using a simple random sampling technique under the criteria of parents who have children aged 2 to 6 years. The result of this study is that parental resilience has a significant role in efforts to build resilience in early childhood (r = 0.487). However, there are still other factors or variables that can play a role in the formation of early childhood resilience need further studies.

Abstract

Various cases of suicide bombings in several regions in Indonesia, terrorism movements, the development of thought dynamics that cause various differences, and various issues of intolerant practices that occur at the kindergarten/PAUD level. Conflicts arising from diversity in Indonesia pose a significant challenge to the country’s ability to maintain unity. The purpose of this study is to explain the strategy for introducing religious moderation through local wisdom in early childhood. The research methodology employs a qualitative literature review method. We gather documentation data by searching through a variety of books and articles using keywords such as religious moderation, early childhood, and local wisdom. The data analysis process employs content analysis, which involves scrutinizing data from a variety of sources and drawing conclusions from the findings. The study’s findings demonstrate that local wisdom can introduce religious moderation, as it closely aligns with the child’s surroundings, making religious moderation an integral part of children’s lives. Family, school, and community education can facilitate the integration of moderation and local wisdom. This study offers a fresh perspective on the strategy of introducing religious moderation to early childhood by integrating local wisdom values to form an inclusive, tolerant, and open character towards diversity.
