Abstract

Abstract Human Meta Pneumo Virus (HMPV) is a single strain virus identifies as a cause of upper airway infection. Recently, several new cases reported in some countries, including Indonesia. After the virus infected the epithelial cell, it will replicated exponentially and spreading to adjacent cells. As a result, it will break the tissue and lead to inflammation. In patient with immunocompromised, HMPV infection will continued to pneumonia and other serious complication. Therefore, it is necessary to inform this virus characteristics to the health care professionals to allow them can tackle the disease accurately. Finally, it could limiting the potency of the occurrence of epidemic in population.

Abstract

An otorhinolaryngologist (ORL) or general practitioner diagnoses ear disease based on ear image information. However, general practitioners refer patients to ORL for chronic ear disease because the image of ear disease has high complexity, variety, and little difference between diseases. An artificial intelligence-based approach is needed to make it easier for doctors to diagnose ear diseases based on ear image information, such as the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). This paper describes how CNN was designed to generate CNN models used to classify ear diseases. The model was developed using an ear image dataset from the practice of an ORL at the University of Mataram Teaching Hospital. This work aims to find the best CNN model for classifying ear diseases applicable to android mobile devices. Furthermore, the best CNN model is deployed for an Android-based application integrated with the Endoscope Ear Cleaning Tool Kit for registering patient ear images. The experimental results show 83% accuracy, 86% precision, 86% recall, and 4ms inference time. The application produces a System Usability Scale of 76.88% for testing, which shows it is easy to use. This achievement shows that the model can be developed and integrated into an ENT expert system. In the future, the ENT expert system can be operated by workers in community health centres/clinics to assist leading health them in diagnosing ENT diseases early.

Abstract

Mental health is a fundamental aspect that prospective teachers must possess to carry out their professional roles effectively. Prospective teachers face various demands that begin in their university years and continue into their future careers as educators. This community service program aims to provide mental health training for elementary teacher candidates at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram. The training was conducted in three sessions covering topics such as mental health awareness for teacher candidates, challenges and risks related to teachers’ mental health, creating a safe and supportive classroom environment, self-care for prospective teachers, as well as stress management and resilience. A total of 180 students from semesters 1, 3, and 5 participated in this activity. The implementation methods included material delivery, interactive discussions, video-based learning, and guided reflection. The results indicate that participants gained a better understanding of mental health issues and developed basic skills in managing stress and building resilience. This program is expected to serve as an initial step in fostering mental health awareness and readiness among prospective teachers.

Abstract

Mental health is a crucial aspect of education, particularly for prospective teachers who will play a significant role in shaping students' character and well-being. This community service activity aimed to enhance the capacity of prospective teachers in understanding and managing mental health through a Curriculum Design Workshop on Mental Health. The workshop involved 25 participants, comprising mental health researchers, curriculum experts, experts in mental health and clinical psychology, experts in guidance and counseling and psychology, as well as lecturers supervising mental health-related educational courses. The outcomes of this workshop included the development of a survey instrument for assessing the mental health profiles of prospective teachers, along with documents and other instruments to support the design of a comprehensive and applicable mental health curriculum. This activity is expected to contribute to the improvement of the quality of education and mental well-being in the school environment.

Abstract

Mental health is a crucial aspect in shaping the professional readiness of prospective teachers. However, this issue remains underexplored in teacher education, despite the complex emotional and academic pressures faced by students. This study aims to describe the perceptions of prospective teachers regarding mental health, in terms of their knowledge, experiences, and expectations for institutional support. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach involving 630 prospective teachers from various semesters. The instruments used consisted of a Likert scale, binary (Yes/No) questions, and open-ended questions. Data were analyzed using descriptive techniques, including mean scores, frequency distribution, and thematic analysis. The findings revealed that students demonstrated a high level of awareness regarding the importance of mental health (mean score = 4.85), yet not all felt comfortable discussing the issue or seeking help when experiencing psychological pressure. A total of 63.17% of respondents had experienced or knew someone who experienced mental health problems, but only 37.14% felt they had adequate resources to cope. Student suggestions included the need for mental health education, counseling services, and awareness campaigns within the campus environment. These findings underscore the importance of integrating mental health education into teacher training curricula. Systematic efforts are needed to enhance literacy, reduce stigma, and foster a more supportive campus environment for the psychological well-being of future educators.
