Abstract

Abstract : This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and to increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of the students by applying discovery learning. The subjects of this research are the students of classSMPN 1 Teluk Kuantan at the second semester of academic years 2017/2018 which total number of participants are 30 students, consists of 14 male students and 16 female students with heterogeneous academic achievements. This research has two cycles. Each of them has four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collecting instruments consist observation sheet (learning process) and the students' worksheet. Learning device used in this research consists of Syllabus, Lesson plan, and Student work sheet. The data were analized by narrative descriptive and statistical descriptive. The data were obtained from the observation sheets of teacher and students activities that showed the learning process has improved after the model being implemented. From the data of the student’s evaluation test, it showed that that the frequency of the number of students who reached the standard category, good and very good in the frequency distribution table increased from base score to Quiz I, and from Quiz I to Quiz II. The number of students who reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria from the basic score to Quiz I increased by 3 people with a 10% increase, and from Quiz I to Quiz II increased by 4 people with an increase of 13.4%.Key Words : The outcomes of mathematics learning, Discovery Learning, class action research

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is the restrict of mathematics learning instruments as supporting learning referring to 2013 Curriculum. This research aims to develop the RPP and LKPD of mathematics with the application of problem based learning on the subject matter of the prism and pyramid for the 8th grade students of SMP. Research development by Thiagarajan. Development is done through the following steps: (1) define; (2) design; (3) develop; and (4) disseminate. At the stage of define, the researcher conducted a needs analysis as first-end analysis, analysis characteristic of students, concept analysis, assignment analysis and learning aim specification. Furthermore gather the necessary materials to design RPP and LKPD. RPP and LKPD that had been developed then validated by 3 validator and revised based on advice from the validator. RPP and LKPD that has a valid then tested in the small group trial with subjects 10 students of class VIII-6 SMP Negeri 3 Tambang. Based on the analysis of data and discussion can be concluded that RPP and LKPD of mathematics with the application of problem based learning on the subject matter of the prism and pyramid for the 8th grade students of SMP to be valid by the average for the RPP is 3.74 and the average for LKPD is 3.44, and eligible practicalities to use students of class VIII.Keywords: RPP and LKPD of mathematics, Research and Development, Problem Based Learning, Prism and Pyramid

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to develop mathematics learning device that are Lesson Plan (LP) and Students Worksheet (SW) based curriculum 2013 on subject quadrilateral through the application of problem based learning. This research and development use development model by Borg and Gall modified by Sugiyono (2008). Development is done through the following steps: (1) potentials and problems; (2) data collection; (3) design products: (4) validation; (5) revision; (6) small group trial; (7) revision; (8) large group trial; and (9) revision. At the stage of potentials and problems, the researchers conducted a needs analysis concluded Core Competence (CC) - Basic Competence (BC) analysis, characteristics of students analysis, and materials analysis. Then, researcher collect the necessary materials to design learning device. Learning device that had been developed then validated by three validators and revised based on the input from validators. The valid learning device then tested in two stages, the small group trial with subjects are eight students of class VII-4 SMP Negeri 3 Tambang and large group trial with subjects are 29 students of class VII-4 SMP Negeri 3 Tambang. Based on the data analysis and discussion can be concluded that the mathematics learning device based curriculum 2013 on subject quadrilateral through the application of problem based learning are valid with an average value for the LP is 3.79 and the average value for SW is 3.82, and is practical to use by learners class VII.Keywords: Mathematics Learning Device, Curriculum 2013, Research and Development, Problem Based Learning, Quadrilateral

Abstract

Abstract: This reasearch is a classroom action research that aims to improve the learning process and improve mathematics learning outcomes by implementing the Problem Based Learning model. This research consists of two cycles, each cycle consits of four stages. The stages are, lesson planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The mathematic quiz was given at the end of every cycles. The data needed are teacher’s activities data and student’s activites data collected by observation techniques and analyzed by descriptive statistics. The results shows that the implementation of the learning process in the second cycle improves from the first cycle. The data obtained from the student mathematics learning outcomes quizzes shows that the competence of knowledge and skills frequency of students at low and very low intervals decreases from the base score to the Quizze I score and to the Quizze II score as well as in the frequency of students at high and very high intervals increases from base score to Quiz I score and to Quiz II score. The result of this study indicates that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning process and improve mathemtics learning outcomes of students in class VII Hang Kesturi SMP Negeri 1 Pekanbaru in the odd semester of the academic year 2019/2020.Key Words: Mathematics Achievement, Problem Based Learning, Class Action Research

Abstract

Abstract: This research was motivated by the problems that occurred in the VIIIC class of SMP Telekomunikasi Pekanbaru and the result of learning mathematics which is still under the KKM with percentage 42,85% on subject that related to Pythagoras theorem. This research aims to improve the learning process and improve student learning achievement by applying cooperative learning model with structural Numbered Heads Together (NHT) approach. This type of research is a classroom action research with two cycles. The data was collected by doing observation of teachers and students activities and formative test. The data analysis of the research results showed that the weakness in cycle I has been improved with improvement plan that will be done in cycle II, it means that there has been improvement in the learning process. In addition, the number of students who achieved KKM on the basic score, formative test I (first cycle), formative test II (second cycle) were 42,85%, 53,57%, dan 71,43%, respectively. The percentage of achievement of this KKM also shows improvement from before action to after action so that it can be said that student learning achievement also increase. The results of this research indicate that cooperative learning model with structural Numbered Heads Together (NHT) approach can improve the learning process and improve the learning achievement of mathematics students VIIIC of SMP Telekomunikasi Pekanbaru second semester of the academic year 2016/2017.Key Words: Math Learning Achievement, Cooperative Learning Model With Structural Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Approach, Clasroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to increase mathematics achievement with applied the learning model of Problem Based Learning. The subject of this research is student of class VIII.2 SMPN 4 Pekanbaru in the second semester academic years 2014/2015, which amounted to 34 students, consist of 13 boys and 21 girls. The research consisit of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. At the end of every cycle the quiz will be implemented. Data collection is done by observation and tests in the form of quiz. The result of research shows that implementation of learning process on cycle II had happened improvement from implementation on cycle I. Weakness on cycle I is improved on implementation cycle II according with planning of improvement after reflection cycle I. Most of students were very confidenced  and actived in learning process, such as while they were finished mathemathic’s problems that given, presenting the result of problems and giving the conclusion of learning. Number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria increase from basic score to quiz I and II. The number percentage of students who reach Minimum Mastery Criteria on basic, quiz I and II  are respectively 67,65%, 79,41% and 79,41%. Results of this research indicates that appication of the learning model of Problem Based Learning can improve learning process and increase mathematics achievement from the students at class VIII.2 SMPN 4 Pekanbaru in the second semester academic years 2014/2015. Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to develop mathematics learning device that are Lesson Plan (LP) and Students Worksheet (SW) and 2013 curriculum based prism and pyramid material using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach for SMP/MTs students.This development research uses 4D development model who developed by Thiagarajan and modified by Endang Mulyatiningsih. The development carried out by the stages: (1) define; (2) design; (3) development; and (4) dessemination that is not implemented due to time and cost limitations. Data collection instrumen in this study were LP and SW validation sheets and student response questionaires. Then, learning device that had been compiled are validated by three validators and revised according to validator’s suggestions. Then, learning device that had been validated are tested in two stages, namely small group trials with the subject of six students of class VIII.B SMP Negeri 4 Tambang and a large group trial with the subject of 25 class VIII Andalusia students of SMP Juara Pekanbaru. Based on the data analysis results and the discussion it can be concluded that the 2013 curriculum based curriculum learning prism and pyramid material with a Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach for SMP / MTs students was considered valid with the rating average for lesson plans was 3.18 and the rating average for Students Worksheet is 3.11, and meets the practical requirements for use by the students of grade VIII SMP/MTs.Key Words: Mathematics Learning Device, Approach Realistic Mathematics Education (RME), Research and Development.

Abstract

Abstract:This researches was a classroom action research which aims to improve the performance of teacher and improving the student mathematic achievement. This researches implemented the cooperative learning by using structure approach of numbered head together (NHT) at class VII.2 SMPN 5 Tambang academic year 2015/2016. This learning used identification number of students in order to increase the responsibility of students during the learning process. The data in this study consisted of the activity data on learning process and the data of student mathematic achievement. The activity data were collected by using teacher observation sheet and student observation sheets while the data of student mathematic achievement were collected by using test. These data were analyzed descriptively. The data analyzed showed that activities of students and teacher is getting better. The teacher done reflection after learning to improve the previous weakness. The student mathematic achievement increased by observing the achievement of KKM. The percentage of students who achieved KKM on cycle 1 was 54.16% and 75.00% in cycle 2. There was improvement of student mathematics achievement because the percentage of student who achieved KKM before action was only 33.33%. It can be concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning by using structure approach of numbered head together (NHT) can improve student mathematic achievement at class VII.2 SMPN 5 Tambang.KeyWord : Students’ Math Achievement, Cooperative Learning Model Structural Approach of Numbered Heads Together, Classroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve the learning process and improve the student’s mathematic achievement through the implementation of Questions Student Have Strategy in Cooperative Learning Model Student Team Achievement Division Types. The research is the Classroom Action Research with two cycles. The research was conducted in studentof grade VIII2 SMP N 3 Pekanbaru in the second semester of the 2015/2016 academic year with the subject of as many as 40 students. The research instrument are consists of learning devices and instrument data collectors. Learning device used in this research are consists of the Syllabus, Lesson plan and Student work sheet. The instrument data collector used in this research is consists of the observation sheet and math test. Technique of data analysis is analysis of narrative descriptive and analysis of statistical descriptive. Based on the result of the research show that, the learning process has improved and the student’s mathematic achievement have improved after applying the Questions Student Have Strategy in Cooperative Learning Model Student Team Achievement Division Types. Abstract

Abstract: This research was classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to increase the student’s abilities in problem solving with apply Problem Based Learning (PBL). The subject of the research is students of class X MIPA2 SMA Babussalam Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2015/2016. There are 21 students in the class, consist of 7 boys and 14 girls. The research are two cycles, each a cycle has four stages, that are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Each end of the cycle carried out tests of mathematical problem solving ability. Data collected through observation and tests of mathematical problem solving ability. Data analysis was performed with narrative descriptive analysis and descriptive statistical analysis. Results of this research showed that the teacher’s activities and students have are increasing at eah meeting. Most of students were excited and active in problem solving and find the concept independently. Student also have confident to express their opinion and doing presentation. The student’s abilities in problem solving was increas if the N-gain average of student’s abilities in problem solving at first cycle and second cycle more than zero. Based on the analysis of data student’s abilities in problem solving, obtained the N-gain average of student’s abilities in problem solving at first cycle is zero point fourty. It means the student’s abilities in problem solving was increasing with enough classification. At second cycle, the N-gain average of student’s abilities in problem solving is zero point fifty six. It means the student’s abilities in problem solving was increasing with enough classification. Results of this research shows that Problem Based Learning (PBL) can improve the learning process and increase the student’s abilities in problem solving.Keywords: Student’s abilities in problem solving, Problem Based Learning
